December 31, 2015 I Painted A Giant Dory Painting! Happy New Year's Eve!

"Rapture" 30x40 oil on copper 2700$ framed in gold wood or black with gold lip.  Shipped free.

I am scratching my head tonight wondering how did I do that?  It normally takes me days

or even months to finish a large 30x40 painting!  Somehow I did this painting in 8 hours!

I was working feverishly.  I started at 8:00pm and finished at 3:30am!   A very cute field mouse

was standing on his hind legs with his front paws up watching me finish the painting.  He or she

lives behind the fireplace and apparently ventures out late at night to each crumbs in the kitchen.

The field mouse must wait till all the golden retrievers are upstairs sound sleep!  Not a creature

must be stirring except one artist.  The mouse did not seem threatened at all by presence.

I thought it was a funny way to finish up a painting to have an audience of a field mouse.

What a beautiful mouse.  The mouse had grey hair, white feet, and big brown/black eyes.

My right arm and shoulder felt like I swam the Atlantic ocean with one arm.

"Lily at Sandy Point Beach" 14x20 oil on copper.  1500$ framed in gold or black with gold.  Shipped.

I worked more on the highlights on Lily's fur.  When golden retrievers get wet their hair becomes

all crimped and curly!

"Castine Harbor View" 8x12 oil on copper 550$ framed in gold or silver wood.  Shipped.

I reworked a lot in this painting.  This painting was started during the Castine Plein Air

Festival this last July.  The morning light changed so quickly.

Here is the painting before I reworked it.  I think I made an improvement.  The nice thing

about painting on top of a dry painting, if it is not an improvement, it can be wiped off quickly.

What will we be doing tonight?  I bet Robert will be standing out in the snow tonight playing

with the dogs.  I might be painting a new large painting?  Have a Happy New Year's Eve!

December 30, 2015 Puppy Update: Pups Stealing Food During Holidays!

I thought this was a cute photo of Tulip/Gracie from a few weeks ago.  She was trying to

help her owner clean the bathtub!  She is doing really well.  She passed a dog obedience class.

Daffodil is a perfect little angel.  Her owners reports tripping on many

dog toys in her house.  She feels as if she has a lot of children now but it is

one dog!

Here is Gardenia/Lilly with her best friend Winnie.  During the holidays, Lilly jumped on to

a chair near a table.  She ate a bowl of Ruffles potato chips without being noticed!  Now when

there are chips around Lilly barks for chips!

Here are Marigold and Mr. Moseley/Mosely.  Marigold behaved herself during the holidays.

She watched Mosely get up onto the dinning table and enhale 3/4 a chicken very very quietly.

There were four people in a room next to the dinning room.  They didn't hear anything.

Mosely didn't make any licking, crunching, or smacking of his lips!  Mosely was in stealth eating

mode!

Lady Edith/Lia from our first litter of pups and Vincent/Tucker went to visit friends for

the holidays.  The owner was telling their host how well behaved they both were.

Vincent/Tucker seen here on the right, is very bullheaded when he wants

food.  He howls and barks.  He will find away to get what he wants.  She does

warn people about him.  Vincent/Tucker stole a chicken sandwich from a young

girl being babysat!

Lady Edith/Lia enhaled all the crackers sitting on a plate on a coffee table at the home

she was visiting.  Then she came back into the room to grab the cheese ball.  Luckily Lady Edith/Lia

was apprehended before eating all that cheese.  Vincent/Tucker howled because he didn't get

any cracker or cheese.

Today it was Poppy who ate five large crackers on a plate while I was on the phone.  Lily

was watching her Mom.  Lily would look at her Mom and then glance over to me.  I knew

something was happening.  Too late!  I wonder if Lily will try some food snatching tactics

of her own now.

Here are Lily and Poppy laying in the snow with our house and airstream

in the background.  It would make an interesting painting.  Have a great night!

I am working on another 30x40 dory painting!

December 29, 2015 We Have Beautiful Snow In Maine!

Yahoo!  We have snow!  Lily, Monet, and Poppy were watching Robert run the snow plow.

This is Lily's first time seeing snow!

I don't go outside too often when it is cold.  I like to admire the action from the warmth

of my house!

The house across the street is the oldest home in Bucksport.  The home owner

sold off acres at a time until all the acres were sold.

I snuggled with Monet for a short time.  I cleaned his ears today.  He enjoyed this.

He loves being hugged!

I varnished the large painting sold recently, put it inside the large box

laying on the table, put a bottle inside to keep the top of the box from hitting

the wet painting, then placed a plastic bag over the top to keep dog hair and

dust from laying on to the painting!  This is always a nerve wracking time.

If anything does fall on to the wet surface then I must deal with it!  I

take such good care of the wet painting that it just doesn't happen.  But it could!

I dragged up my Mom's old easel from the basement.  I wiped off the

dust.  I reassured Lily everything was ok.  I set the large dory painting on

this easel to get a better look.

I will work on this painting after it has dried.  It is almost finished.  Just need to work on

a few areas.  Craftsmanship is important regardless if a painting is 4x5 or 30x40 such as this one!

I have decided to call this painting either:  Freedom, Passage, or Journey.

I was asked recently this question:  Is your approach to painting large the same as painting small?

I use a larger Old Holland Kolinsky brush size 22 instead of a Old Holland Kolinsky brush size 8-10.

Sometime I use a printing brayer size 4 inch for larger works.  I will also use a round brush made by

Raphael called Kevrin 867 series size 10.  This round brush is much different than other rounds I have used.

It is smaller for a size 10 and more firm.  I find this brush great for drawing with paint!  The brush

seems to last longer.

Lily, Poppy, and Monet love snow so much they don't want to be inside!  I can hear

Lily crying, "Want to play in the snow more!  Let me out!"   Robert is finishing up with

snow removal on the back porch!

I am feeding the wood fire.  I will work on a new painting project tonight.  Have a great

night!

December 28, 2015 Serious Work Painting A Large Dory!

Here is the large dory painting, oil on copper, 30x40.  Today I worked very hard

on the water.  Tomorrow I will work more on the entire painting.   Water is both fun

and challenging to paint!

Robert was off work today.  He spent much time taking all the dogs to the beach.

He played with the dogs for hours in the yard.    Then he brushed each dog.  Lily seemed to love this

part of the day the most.  She came back for a second brushing.  I washed some doggy

ears this morning.  There are 6 ears to clean.  Once the first cloth appeared to clean ears two

dogs ran to hide.  Lily seemed to enjoy ear washing!

Tomorrow we will have a lot of snow!  I was suppose to have a meeting with the IRS.

I will be postponing our meeting.  Have a good night!

December 27, 2015 Sold A Large Boat Painting Last Night! Painting A New One!

"Equanimity" 25x25 oil on copper sold last night off my website.  It was a big surprise!  Thank you.

I will order a very nice gold wood frame, varnish the painting, frame it, package it, and drive it

to the post office to ship!

"Pemaquid Lighthouse" 5x4 oil on copper.  Sold last night!  Thanks.

I sat in my chair marveling at the painting sales.  I was so grateful.  I thought

about my painting inventory.  I don't have any real large paintings available.  I decided

to work on a 30x40 oil on copper of a blue dory!

The new Richeson tabletop easel will accommodate up to a 40 inch painting!

I prefer to sit to paint inside my house because I have three young large golden

retrievers who chase each other!  I can just see myself as a target if

I stood and painted!  Sometimes they consider me their equal.   Monet tried to

leap on my back yesterday.  I told him to cut that out!  What a rascal.  He is very

playful.

It took me a few hours to draw the dory.  I finally decided the drawing was good.

We had rain then it turned to snow today!  I decided to drive to Bangor.  Sometimes I

feel the need to walk around a mall for a few hours.  I like to admire things.

Walking is good exercise.  I came home energized  and refreshed!  It is nice

to see people.  I get bored staying home during the winter time.

I am half way done with a 30x40 painting!  I am surprised.  I am looking forward

to painting the water tomorrow.  Water is fun to paint!

Have a good night.

December 26, 2015 The Doggy Toy Snake Is A Hit! Sandy Point Beach!

Monet seems to be the one who loves dog toys the most!

The snake is so long it wraps around the dog and stays in position!  Poppy slept in her

bed downstairs with the snake.

Poppy and Monet played tug of war this afternoon.

Robert was trying to avoid the camera for a moment.  He is funny.

I reminded him how much his Sister in Holland loves to see photos of him.

The weather has been so nice here this December!  Have a great night!

December 24, 2015 Lily Plays With Christmas Doggy Toys!

Lily enjoyed playing with her Christmas present!

Monet had a beautiful orange squeaky ball with Poppy's snake around

his neck.

Round toys are a big hit.

Monet tries to get the toy from Lily.

December 23, 2015 Oh Lily! What Are You Doing With Half A Dead Bird!

"The Babysitter" 5x4 oil on copper  Sold.  Thank you!

This is a painting I did not know if I could accomplish!  Come on...I thought.  Can I paint

nine dogs in a 4x5 miniature?  I had no idea if it was possible.  I like it!  It came out nice.

I will take a better photo tomorrow.  This is a painting of Lily laying down babysitting eight

pups from the last litter.  Buttercup, yellow, Sunflower, orange, Tulip, red, Dahlia, blue, Sargent,

black, Vincent, green, and Daffodil, pink, and Gardenia, lavender.  The pups were about a week

old at this time.  They were happy and well fed.

We were at the beach today.  Poppy spotted many feathers.  We all checked out the feathers.

Monet's expression was great.  I guess he prefers his bird cooked.

I love to watch the dogs run.  They are young and healthy.

Lily decided this batch of feathers was a find!

She was so proud of her feathers.  They didn't smell.  Poppy did a double take when Lily

ran by her with all those feathers in her mouth!

Normally Lily has to be chased down to be put into the car so we can leave.

Today Lily jumped first into the back of the car.  Poppy and Monet glanced at each other.

Is Lily really going to take that bird home in the car?

Yes she is!  After two minutes, Monet and Poppy jumped into the car.

Monet and Poppy didn't want to get into the car because of Lily's bird.

I coaxed them into the car.  Lily was so proud of the bird.  She sat in the car

with the feathers sticking out of her mouth.  One car drove by and slowed down

to see Lily.

This is what the people saw!    I wonder if those feathers were from a turkey?

   Have a good night!

December 22, 2015 Christmas Puppy Update!

Daffodil went on a long car ride to New Jersey for the holidays.  She found this other dog very fun.

She has been a good girl.  She is going to get a lot of toys for Christmas.  Her owner spends all her

time with Daffodil.  She is spoiled and loved.

Dahlia enjoys her friend Moose.  They play and nap together all the time.

Dahlia kept Sheba, a 16 year old golden retriever, company until the end.  Sheba was never

happier cuddling with Dahlia.  Sheba was deaf and blind for years.  She loved to smell Dahlia.

I found this photo touching.  Dahlia would lick Sheba on the head.  They were good friends.

Sheba is up in heaven smiling down on Moose and Dahlia and her family.  We would like to offer

our sincere condolences for the loss of Sheba.  I am glad they were brave to have Dahlia into their family.

Here is another photo of Sheba, 16 years old, with Dahlia.  What a wonderful match.

Gardenia/Lilly is looking beautiful in her sweater!  She and her golden retriever male friend

went to the beach for the first time recently.  They ran all over but didn't swim.  I see really

cute photos of Gardenia/Lilly cuddled up with a boy on the couch.  The other two girls in the

family love Lilly too!

Here is Gardenia/Lilly with her male companion.  Looks like they love each other but there will not be puppies!

I found this photo of Luke as a younger puppy!  Luke is the puppy's Grandfather and

Monet's Father.  Look who is sleeping with a cat!  Ah ha!

From the first litter, Mr. Bates/Chase, also sleeps with cats!  He is very handsome.  To me

he looks like his Dad.

Mr. Bates/Chase sleeps on his back!

Sargent/Captain sleeps with a Yorkshire terrier!   I was worried about this friendship.

They get along fine.  They sleep in the same bed together with their owner.  Ha!

Here is Lady Edith/Lia from the first litter with her little brother Vincent/Tucker.  Every time

I see a photo of them they are all curled up together!

I hope you have a wonderful night!

I spent a lot of time today at the beach with all my dogs!  It was great fun.

December 21, 2015 We Purchased An LL Bean Dog Bed For Monet!

Our Christmas present was an LL Bean gift card.  We drove to Ellsworth to shop!  We

found this beautiful dog bed for Monet.  The girls, Poppy and Lily, love to tear the stuffing

out of Monet's bed.  We put all the stuffing for two dog beds into the new LL Bean canvas

bed cover!  He loved it.  He loves to sleep by the front door.  Now he will be sleeping in supreme

comfort!  Monet keeps our house safe.

Lily is a very sweet little golden retriever.  She loves being brushed for hours.   She also

loves getting morning hugs.  The only thing we need to work on is getting Lily to come

to the car when it is time to leave the beach.  Lily is in the photo on the right side.

She will try to hide in the grass when Monet and Lily are inside the car.  She would rather

stay at the beach than go home.

Lily likes to put her front feet on the van's console.  Poppy rides laying down on the van

floor.  I think Monet prefer to ride in the van.

Have a good night!

December 18, 2015 Doggy Toys Arrive! Monet Takes Them All!

The bark box arrived today.  My dogs survey any box coming in to our home now.  Could

it be a bark box?  Monet loved the blue present with yellow ribbon and the velvet hat!  Lily

seemed to like the carrot.  Monet ended up with all the toys.

Monet made his upper lip quiver as he growled at Lily to back off.

Poppy came over to me.  She used her nose to bump me a few times.

She does this when she wants me to fix up a situation or help Lily.

I told Monet to be a gentleman.

Monet decided it was better to share toys.

Every dog had a toy.  Monet seemed most interested in toys.  He loves all toys!

At the beach they were digging fast!

"Lily and Maisiey" 5x4 oil on copper 125$ framed in gold.  Shipped free.

I had a great time this last year watching Lily play with the puppy corgi.

They were both six months old.  They rolled around, wrestled, played alligator,

and swam.  Good times!

December 17, 2015 Sweet Painting Of Puppy Lily Back With Mom.

"Lily Admiring Her Mom" 5x4 oil on copper.  Sold.  Thank you!

Lily was more than four months old when she came back to live with us.  She

had never been to the beach.  I took hundreds of photos of her with her parents

at the beach.  She tried to stay close to her Mom Poppy.  I saw her staring at her.

I think she was admiring her Mom.  She must have been so happy to be home

with her parents again.

I remember sitting down on wet rockweed seaweed

to take close low shots of their faces.  They were hanging out on seaweed.  Then

Poppy would run down the beach further.  She was taking breaks allowing Lily

to catch up to her.

Monet was pleased.  Later he would become Lily's closest pal.

I took all my dogs to Sandy Point Beach today.  It was cool and damp outside.

Lily found an empty plastic jar.  Lily found a small heavy log.  Monet found a giant

rock to carry down the beach.

Poppy worked hard to move her log.

The dogs like to watch me while I drive.

  Have a good night!

December 16, 2015 Fun Painting of Lily and Luke. Schoodic In December.

"Lily with Grandfather Luke" 4x5 oil on copper sold.  Thanks!

Lily has always loved Luke.  She loves to visit with him.  He is an older perhaps spoiled

golden who doesn't want to be bothered with a pesky little puppy.  That day Luke had

been holding his master's hat.  Luke often does this.  He will carry the hat down the beach.

That day he went into the water with the hat.  We all thought it was funny.  Eventually

the hat was retrieved.

Every day was raining in Schoodic Point.  I stayed inside the apartment for days painting.

All the artists brought food.  We had a very nice dinner each night.  I loved looking at

the paintings they created en plein air.  We had a great time discussing John Singer Sargent

and Tom Thomson.  We were talking about greys in paintings, convex vs concave lines

in paintings, and painting on copper.  I had a surprise for them.  I had 5x7 copper clad panels

for them to try.  We even exchanged Christmas presents.  The last day was today.  It

was very nice weather.  I decided to head home!

Poppy and Monet found me birch bark.  They know I like birch bark to help start fires!

They are so smart.

It is great to be back home.  My golden retrievers were happy to see me! Have a

good night.

December 15, 2015 Painting Golden Retriever Holding a Fish!

"Luke's Fish" 4x5 oil on copper sold.  Thanks

Here is today's special little puppy painting at a special price.  Luke is the Grandfather

of Lily and Monet's Dad.  He enjoys holding fish his master catches for him.  I was lucky to be

invited fishing with them.  Luke was barking.  He was so excited about possible fish!

After a fish was caught, Luke held the fish, and then let the fish go into the water.  He

would never injure the fish.  Luke is a kind dog.  I laughed so hard watching him hold

his fish!  What a great memory.

December 13, 2015 Twelve Days Till Christmas Surprise For You!

"First Swim With Mom" 4x5 oil on copper  Sold!  I will post a new puppy painting tomorrow at

a special price framed and shipped for 125$!  Thank you so much!

I decided to paint a few Lily, Poppy, and Monet paintings at a special price.  I know Robert

will want this one.  I will have to paint him a special painting so he will be happy.  I will put this

painting under the painting heading, then under Puppy Paintings.

There are only twelve days till Christmas!  This should be a fun challenge.

Here is a detail of Poppy in this painting.

Here is a detail of Lily when she was a puppy.  This was her second time swimming.  The

first time, her parents, Monet and Poppy, just stood there watching from the shore.  I am

sure they were worried, proud, and surprised!  Lily was swimming!  I was very excited and

proud.  Then we took her to Sandy Point Beach.  Lily was brave.  She ran into the water but

found comfort swimming along side of her Mom.

I am off to paint in Schoodic Point, in Acadia National Park for two nights.  I will be posting

special puppy paintings for you to see as well as new Schoodic paintings.  Have a great night!

December 12, 2015 Reading "Design Basics" By Lauer and Pentak.

In the Winter time here in Maine, I love to read books on painting.

Right now I am reading a few books.  The one I find most interesting is

a book entitled, "Design Basics" by David A. Lauer/Stephen Pentak.  It

was an expensive book, 140$.  I took a leap of faith it would be packed

full of information and it is!

I have also been drawing 4x5 inch drawings of Andrew Wyeth, Willard

Metcalf, and Aldro Hibbard paintings.  I am studying the design of their

work.  I am also learning about values and the sizes they choose.  Above

is a tiny sketch I did of an Andrew Wyeth painting called, "Rocky Hill".

It sold at auction for 1,800,000$.  This is what I do in my spare time when

I am not painting.  I spend most of my time either painting or studying how

to be a better painter.

I do love Willard Metcalf's work.  He painted in Maine 100 years ago.

I love his compositions.

Andrew Wyeth painted many dogs in his paintings.  His son, Jamie Wyeth, also painted

many dogs.  They are a great subject added to any landscape.

I have a very large sheet of copper on a new 40 inch capable Richeson table top easel!

The copper is size 30x40.  I just wanted to see if this size copper would fit on this new easel.

The easel was on sale for 114$!  It was a bargain.

I was admiring Jamie Wyeth's painting of a terrier.   The dog's hair and

expression is wonderful.  I was noticing the placement of the dog.

Sandy Point Beach was pretty again.

I need to decide on the subject for my next big painting!  Have a great night!

December 11, 2015 Went To Sleep Thinking Does That Painting Look Like Lily?

"Lovely Lily" 14x20 oil on copper.  Still working on this one.

I went to sleep last night wondering if the painting looked like Lily?  I didn't think so.

Today I spent many hours working on the face.  Lily is a young golden.  The painting looked like

an elderly golden.  Today I decided to rework the eyes.  I shortened her ears.  I thinned her face.

I reworked her hair.  I gave the painting a jowl lift.  I am getting closer!

   Have a good night!

December 10, 2015 Lily's Portrait Is Finished!

"Lily" 14x20 oil on copper 1500$ framed in gold wood or black with gold lip.  Shipped free.

Lily's portrait is finished!  I love the subject!

Lily has been sitting on my lap once a day.  She likes getting a massage and kisses.

Monet was a little crazy with a green ball.  He growled at Lily.  He was protective of his ball.

I told him he was being naughty.  He might get coal for Christmas.

It was very dark all day long.  Have a great night!

December 9, 2015 Demonstration Of A Golden Retriever Lily's Portrait!

The last two days I have been thinking hard about my next painting's subject.  For a day

I planned to paint more chickens!  Then I asked myself what subject was my favorite that

Jamie Wyeth did?  I admired his dogs at the beach and his chickens.  I went to the beach with

my three goldens.  The light was incredible.  I can not believe how beautiful it was on a December day!

I looked over the photos I took of Lily.  I chose one to paint.

Monet had a rock with seaweed growing on it in his mouth the entire hour we were at the beach!

The photos I took of him were beautiful.  I just didn't want to paint him with a rock.

Poppy is still regrowing hair after having a litter of pups.  I decided Lily would be the model!

Lily has many fans.

I used the same limited palette of: Cadmium Yellow Light, Cadmium Red Light, Cobalt Blue,

Quinacridone Red, and Titanium White.  I realized I needed to add Phalo Blue and Ivory Black!

I drew Lily and the rest of the design.  I used a warm dark mixed from the limited palette.

I painted the shadow area of Lily using many different cool colors.

   I painted her face.

Lily's wet fur took a while!

I will work more on the painting tomorrow.  It is almost finished!  Too bad I finished when

it was very dark outside.  The photo is not very high quality for you to see.

I hope Lily will like her portrait.

We took our time today at the beach! Robert said he took the dogs to the beach at sunrise!

They did not tell me this.  They were at the beach twice today.

It was so beautiful today!  Tomorrow I will show you Lily's portrait finished.

Have a great night!

December 7, 2015 Golden Retrievers Love Ping Pong!

We were given a free ping pong table today.  Lily and Monet were thrilled with learning ping pong!

They both put their front feet on the ping pong table so they could learn.

Poppy caught the ball one time.  Then Poppy decided to hide.

Lily caught the ping pong ball the most.  She knew we appreciated her help!

There was much barking and pouncing on the table when the ball was close!  This made

the game more difficult.

Monet loves ping pong balls.  We are careful.

All Monet needs is a paddle that has a paw holster.  He has the right idea. Lily wants

to learn to play too!

All the paintings are shipped out to their new owners!  Thank you.

    Good night!

December 6, 2015 Winter walk on Sears Island!

We all went for a long hike along Sears Island.

There were beautiful colors around a creek flowing down to the ocean.

   The dogs enjoyed the hike!

Lily helped me find large clam shells.

We added a few logs to the fort on the beach!

There were many fire trucks, police cars, and trucks carrying wreaths passing by our house.

They all had their sirens blaring.  Monet decided to howl as loud and long as possible.

Poppy and Lily touched noses.  This must be a secret way of communicating between them.

Thank you for purchasing paintings this year.  I look forward to another year of painting full time!

Happy Holidays.  Tomorrow I will do some painting!  Have a great night.

December 5, 2015 Poppy, Monet, Or Lily Ate A Wall.

Lily is such a happy pretty girl!  She is very well behaved.

One our of dogs ate through a wall into a closet this morning.  Robert asked me if I

saw the hole.  I told him one of the dogs was searching for treasure.  He asked if the dog

found treasure?  I told him I didn't think so.

It is difficult to determine if the dog who ate the hole in the wall was Monet, Lily, or Poppy.

Monet looks so innocent.  Poppy slinks around the house as if she is a bandit.  She is not

usually seen in the house unless food is being eaten.  Then she comes out of hiding.

Monet climbed up into Robert's lap.  Guilt?  I don't think so!

 Good night.

December 4, 2015 Paintings From Maine! Let's Celebrate!

I took a break from framing, packaging, and shipping today.  Lily, Poppy, and Monet jumped

into my car.  We headed to the beach!  Look how excited they were!

Monet had his head squeezed by Poppy.  I had a dog use my head as a head rest.

We made it safely to the beach!

It was 41 degrees.  They decided to go for a fast swim!

I am so lucky to have dogs.  They get me outside where it is so beautiful.

We were the only ones at the beach.

The marsh grass is turning lighter.

Painting sales are celebrated with ice cream for everyone.  The pink ice cream bar was

for me.  The dogs had Frosty Paws dog ice cream.  Yahoo!  Woof!

I was handing Monet his Frosty Paws.  He stood there and licked his treat while I held it.

I enjoyed watching him enjoy his treat.  His eyes told me how happy he was.

He loves painting sales!

Lily took her time.  "It is so good!"

December 3, 2015 Frosty Paws Doggy Ice Cream Again? Wow!

Monet, Poppy, and Lily could not believe their luck today!  Frosty Paws dog ice cream treat time!

They lined up waiting for their treat.  This is how we celebrate painting sales.

What is inside Frosty Paws?  Soy, chicken fat, vitamins, water!  The dogs love this treat.

Where can you buy it?  Most grocery stores carry Frosty Paws in the ice cream section.

It is for dog consumption only.  Robert tasted the treat once.  He said it didn't taste sweet.

For a moment Poppy gave Monet the stare!  "Your Frosty Paws in mine!"  I repositioned

Monet's treat so he didn't feel threatened by her.  They all said, "Horray for painting sales!

Thank you!"

December 2, 2015 Monet, Poppy, and Lily Celebrate Painting Sales!

"Sailing Through Fog" 6x8 oil on copper Sold.  Thanks.

This painting was the last painting I completed while I was living in the

airstream in the Bass Harbor Campground.  We had purchased the house in Bucksport.

For some reason we stayed in the airstream for another week or two until we decided,

"Gee it is a bit ridiculous to be here when we could be in a house!"

Looking back sailing through fog and moving out of our airstream in to our new house may

have been similar.  We were all so content once we moved into our Bucksport house.  We have

been in this house since 2009!  Seven years is a long time to live in the same house.  We are still

happy here.  I am looking forward to renovating the bathroom and kitchen floors to tile.  A few

walls will be fixed.  One or more of our dogs ate through a wall in the gallery area.  This large

hole is always a topic of conversation to any brave gallery guests.

"Greys in the Apple Orchard" 6x6 oil on copper.  Sold.  Thank you!

There are some days here in Maine the weather is so grey there are only two values

in the landscape!  It is a peaceful painting.  I hope someone might appreciate it.

"Schoodic's Raven's Nest" 6x8 oil on copper.  350$ framed in gold wood and shipped.

My dogs, Lily, Monet, and Poppy were so pleased with Frosty

Paws doggy ice cream to celebrate a few painting sales.  Yahhoo!

Lily looks like an adult doggy now!  She loved her Frosty Paws.  Good stuff!

Monet used her back end to keep his Frosty Paws from scooting across the floor.  Lily

stood up to see what was happening back there!  She decided to ignore the bumping

motions on her back every time Monet took a lick of his ice cream!  Poppy took her

Frosty Paws under the dining room table.

The dogs were very playful after enjoying their treat!  They all played with a ball.

   They enjoy each other's company.

They shared the tennis ball for hours.  Have a great night!

December 1, 2015 Found A Lost Tangerine Still Life Painting! Enjoying The Painting Sale!

"Tangerines" 6x8 oil on copper Sold. Thanks!

I painted this one in Florida while visiting my parents.

These tangerines were just delicious!

I took the dogs to the beach tonight right before it was pitch black!  It was cool and beautiful!

Monet went in to the water!

We had the entire beach to ourselves!

A plane flew over our heads.  Poppy was the only one who was interested in the giant bird!

    Have a great night!
