March 1, 2011 Photos of Bearskin Neck and Bradley Wharf!

I woke up this morning and headed to Bradley Wharf.  The snow is almost gone.  It was a beautiful sunny day!  Here I watched a fisherman loading bait into a skiff.  Giant seagulls stole a few of his sardines.  He said, "They stole some of my bait.  It is ok.  It's cold out so I will let them have a few fish."  What a nice fisherman.

If you look closely you will see a bunch of small little birds.  They were sunning themselves.  I watched them for a while flying around, flapping their wings, and snuggling against the warm wood.  One bird is on top of a rolled up bunch of rope.  He was particularly happy with his warm rope nest!

The street is almost clear of snow.  I liked the look of the red pewter shop and the shape of the shadows in the foreground.

When I woke up this morning I read a note left by John.  It read, "I am finished!  Wake me up at 10:00am."  I decided to let him sleep in anyway.  He was up till 5:00 am working hard.  I went to the post office to mail off my paintings to a client!  So Sue you should have your paintings soon!  Daisy and Duke will enjoy their ice cream treat when I return to Maine.  I want to take photos of them in action!

It is so windy out today!  I bet the winds are greater than thirty mph!  I think Paul Goodnow, a painter and excellent frame maker is stopping by to drop off frames to John.  I hope we will leave for New York today!  I have never ever been to New York.  I would like to see Coney Island!  Have a great night.  Thanks for reading about my journey!

Hey, Renee. You know you are an artist when you say "I love the shape of the shadows" on the street.
Looks like a great village. I hope you get to New York. It's quite an adventure. Stephen and I are going to Ptown again this summer: for three weeks and we are staying at where Franz Kline had his studio for several years in the 50's. I will be taking landscape painting with two really great teachers: Hilda Niely and John Clayton. Both very successful artists in Provincetown.

Love the photos of Bradley Wharf! Really like the little boat full of water and the wonderful tangle of traps, ropes, bouys, etc aagainst the little boathouse. Looks like a lovely little town to take a stroll. Interesting how the snow has disappeard within a couple of days.

Susan, you live in a place that looks as if it came out of a Charles Dickens story. Very quaint European atmosphere. I enjoyed the photos. It all looks like a painting waiting to happen!

Hi Renee

I can't wait to hold my paintings and touch them!

It's so nice of you to take the time to send them out while on the road

I hope you get to Coney Island -- you should paint it while you're there, it must be beautiful in the winter

If you get into Manhattan you should see a play while you're there -- will you be in the city long enough for that?

Have a WONDERFUL trip!
