November 20, 2024 Festus and Miss Kitty Were Fighting Last Night! Getting Ready To Drive To Florida.

My MRI results of my liver came back yesterday. I have two benign liver tumors.

They will do nothing because they are not interferring with the quality of life.  My moderate

size hernia is doing better.  I stopped taking aspirin.  Hard to know if one or two aspirin a day

was causing liver pain and stomach pain. I am feeling fine.  I don't seem to have the

usually seasonal effective disorder symptoms since we installed two huge LED lights where

I sit in the house.  I suppose I could handle staying in Maine all Winter.  I have decided

to take the cats, Festus and Miss Kitty, to Ocklawaha, Florida where we will stay at a family

cottage on a lake.  There is a long sunroom overlooking the lake.  I imagine I will spend

most of my time there.  I think the cats will love seeing bears, bobcats, birds, and raccoons.

I hope to find a heated pool to swim.  I will be painting in a different area.  That might inspire me.

I have painted so many paintings these last 20 years.  I needed a break.  I would love to try my hand

at sculpuring.  Something new might be very exciting!

Monet, Poppy, Lily, and Lady Violet are doing fine.  They will be well watched while I am gone.

Of course I will miss them!  I hope to see them soon.

Miss Kitty and Festus are each independent.

I think they are mostly kind to each other.

Miss Kitty makes sure she does not overstep his boundaries.

Last night I heard many crashes and thumps.  I thought they were hunting a mouse.

In the morning Festus showed me two cuts on each ear, bites around his neck, a swollen

cut on his lower lip, and he had a cat claw embedded in his check!  He looked sad!  He was

beat up by Miss Kitty!   Miss Kitty slept most of the day.  I checked her out. She had a few

cuts and bites on her stomach.  They seemed to have a brawl last night!  Today they are doing ok.

They are avoiding each other.  I will try to keep up with the blog on my long Maine to Florida journey.

Good night.

November 5, 2024 Recuperating From Covid.

I am recuperating from a bad case of Covid.  I am taking decongestants.

Taking it easy.  Miss Kitty keeps me company for a few minutes a day.

Festus visits me too.  I help Monet up the stairs at night. He barks once to

let me know he is at the bottom of the stairs.  I climb down the stairs.  We

assend one step at a time together.  He wags his tail when he goes into

Robert's room to sleep.  Poppy is doing as well as expected having bone cancer.

The Chinese herbs really have helped.  Monet and Poppy are both taking

pain medicines.  Lily and Lady Violet seem to be fine.  Ted visits the dogs.

Robert takes the dogs to the beach once in awhile early in the morning.

The abdominal cat scan showed I have a moderate hernia and acid reflux.  They will not

do surgery.  They also showed a tumor on my liver. They could not tell if the tumor was

cancer or benign.  They ordered a MRI.  I completed the MRI.  Now I am waiting 10 days

to hear the results. I can not get a primary provider here in Maine until next year.  There is

a doctor shortage.  My stomach pain is not as bad. I have been eating very bland foods.  Lifting

my painting supplies and easel most likely caused the hernia.  The hernia caused the acid reflux.

It does feel good to give painting a break.  I have worked too hard.

   Good night!
