June 28, 2020 Selling Our 2007 International Oceanbreeze Airstream. Lady Violet Has Torn Up All New Dog TOys!

Lady Violet started to dismember all the new dogs toys the second they arrived!

Monet was so upset!  Monet came to me and motioned for me to put all the toys on top

of the table out of Lady Violet's reach!  He continually barked until all the toys were up!

Then he laid down to rest.  Lady Violet stood on her hind legs to reach all the toys.

Lily and Lady Violet argued over who could have the squeaky toys.

There were a few loud discussions.

Robert threw some of the squeaks away.

It is not the norm for the toys to be destroyed right away.

No one was happy about this.  Nothing could be done.

Lady Violet continued to destroy each and every toy until none were left!

Monet searched every new bag that came into the house in hopes new toys arrived.

Lady Violet seems to be a serial killer.

"Diamonds and Opals" 20x26 oil on copper 1850$ framed in gold or black with gold.

Shipping included in the price as well as a choice of a frame.

I worked a little more on this painting.  It is finished!

Lady Violet is such a lovable girl despite her tendencies.

We all love her.  Monet and Poppy seem to look after her and guard her safety.

We have an offer of 42,000$ for our 2007 International Oceanbreeze 25 foot Airstream.

The last few days we have been cleaning the outside and inside.  We have repaired one screen,

glued back on exterior 1 inch trim, and put back on the door under the refrigerator.

It is a bitter sweet situation.  We owe about 42,000$.  For thirteen years we have paid

650$ a month and now we will have nothing to show for the airstream except our

camping memories with Daisy and Duke.  I will get back to painting soon.

"Blue Monkey Love" 7 3/4 x 7 3/4 oil on copper.  Sold.

This paintings will be a part of the dog mural project.

I am happy to participate and lucky so lucky to have sold this painting before the event.

I have been thinking of painting this house.  I love the curved ornate porch.

The house is vacant and not for sale.  Laundry would look so nice under the front

porch!  I am going to see if I can paint this house with laundry!

Good night.

June 22, 2020 Two Days Of Plein Air Painting in Stonington! Dundee Showed Up! Lupines.

"Stonington Sunday" 8x10 oil on copper   Sold.  Thank you so much!

I was surprised to see Stonington socked in with fog and 57 degrees!

I chose this scene to paint.  I found a park bench in front of the post office.

The lupines were incredibly thick.  Dundee, the orange Maine coon cat came to visit.

Dundee looked very healthy.  He posed for a few photos.  Then he went to tease a few birds.

He had dirty little feet!

Here is a photo of him running to see me! I think he remembers me.

Today I drove back to Stonington to find a sunny day!

I asked permission to paint this house.

The lupines were wonderful. Loved the house.  I need to tweak this painting.

I will show you a photo of the completed painting tomorrow.

"Stonington Lupine Welcome" 6x8 oil on copper 450$ framed in gold or black with gold.  Shipping included.

It was so beautiful!  I ran all over the place taking photos.

Here is the scene I painted yesterday but with sunlight!

Have a great night!

June 20, 2020 Exciting Day Painting In Acadia National Park!

"Cadillac Mountain View In June" 5x7 oil on copper 350$ framed in gold or black with gold.

Shipping and frame included in the price.

I drove to Mount Desert Island after taking care of my golden retrievers of course!

We like to sit in the backyard by the Penobscot East Channel and enjoy the salt air.

It was very hot on Mount Desert Island.  I first painted at Seal Harbor Beach!

"Wild Roses At Seal Harbor Beach" 13x10 oil on copper 750$.

framed in gold or black with gold.  Shipping is included in the price.

I cut a 16 ounce sheet of copper with tin snips to create a new size for me.

I often paint 20x26.  This 13x10 is half the size.  I used a larger size 12 Old Holland

kolinsky sable flat brush instead of the size 8.  I found it exciting to paint with a

larger brush.  Faster painting.  Less control over the amount of oil paint delivered

to the copper panel.

I tweaked both paintings for 5 hours when I arrived home late that night.

I painted the boats into the painting on the Seal Harbor Beach painting in my studio.

The lupines are the best on Mount Desert Island!

A deer was busy dining!

Have a wonderful night!

June 18, 2020 Dog Toys For Golden Retrievers! Wiped Off A Painting At Schoodic.

Ten dog toys made our goldens very happy.

Monet confiscated 8 of the largest dog toys.

He gathered them all in his bed.  He cleaned them and tended to them.

He protected them for the evening while he played with them.

Lady Violet took two of the toys to her bed.

Lily had one large chick toy.  She wagged her tail and yoddled.

Here are the Irises that were planted in 2013.  They are doing wonderful.

I was painting at Schoodic. I wiped the painting off.

When I wipe a painting off, it usually means, I need a break!

I gave myself a few days off from painting.

Here is the view I was painting.  Very pretty.

I can paint it another day.

Have a good night!

June 13, 2020 Painted Lupines On Mount Desert Island Without An Easel!

I was determined to paint lupines on Mount Desert Island.

I forgot my easel.  I looked around in the van and decided a box would work.

I taped the copper panel to the lid of the cardboard.

The bottom of the box was used as the palette.

This worked just fine.

Next I painted on Manchester Drive in Northeast Harbor.

There is a field for the public to enjoy with distant mountains and Somes Sound.

I will take better photos of both paintings tomorrow.

I saw several deer eating under the apple trees.

They didn't run off.

They seem accustomed to having humans around.

Mount Desert Island had giant fields of Lupines.

Just amazing!

I think I should paint this one big!  I will have to consult with Robert about this.

"Reach For The Sun" 40x30 oil on copper sold.  Thank you. What a nice surprise!

"Where Dreams Come True" 20x28 oil on copper.  Sold.  Commission painting.

I sure do love doing commissions!  I was working so hard.

I always find it a privilege to work with a client to design a special painting.

This was her very first painting purchase!

I am very pleased she loved it so much.

Thank you for trusting me.

Thank you for the painting purchases.

What a big relief!

Good night.

June 6, 2020 Working On A Large Oil on Copper Schoodic Seascape Painting!

Here are a few photos of the painting in progress on my easel!

The painting is a 20x26 oil on copper

I look at the computer image in black and white while I am working to look at the values.

I have been working on this painting for three days now.

Here it is how it looks on my easel.

I hope to finish the painting tonight!

"Dreams Come True" 20x26 oil on copper 1850$ framed in your choice of frames and shipping included.

Finished!

Lady Violet likes to sit on the back deck under the table watching squirrels and birds.

We closed the door.  Lady Violet was smart enough to stand on her back legs

and hop on the door.  Robert said,"Oh look!  Who locked the puppy out?"

We both came over to the window to admire Lady Violet.

We let her inside.  She is so cute.

Lady Violet dug up a very old puppy chew!  Smart.

Poor girl. I told her I would buy her a few new puppy toys soon.

We had such a great laugh last night!

Robert and I were watching the very last Lost episode on DVD.

We had been watching one or two episodes each night for the last few months.

We were down to the last ten minutes of Lost.

We were on the edges of our seats!

Finally!

Then Lady Violet stood up, walked across the room, her foot was tangled up

in the electrical cord of the VCR.

The VCR stopped!

We have no VCR remote. There is no rewinding an episode.

When the VCR stopped, Robert and I said, "Oh NO!"

We both started laughing because there would be no way to see the end of Lost without

watching the entire last episode again!  We can not rewind the VCR because there is no remote

to do so!  We laughed for a few minutes and looked at the innocent Lady Violet.

Robert went to sleep.  I let the Lost DVD play until the last ten minutes again.

Tonight we will finally see the ending!

Here is the photo I am painting!

Good night.

June 3, 2020 Painting In Schoodic Is Always Wonderful! Lady Violet Tried To Eat My New Shirt.

"Schoodic Residents" 11x14 oil on copper.  650$ framed in gold or black with gold.

Shipping is free.

I went to Schoodic to paint.  There were 25 mph winds. I didn't even notice any wind at

first as I painted.  I ducked down in between large rocks for a while to refine my painting.

Then I stood up again to work until I was finished.

I retreated to my van!

"Schoodic Sentinels" 5x7 oil on copper 350$ framed in gold or black with gold.

Shipping is free.

I loved the view from the van!

I decided to paint another oil.

I had to made sure I used atmospheric perspective .  I wanted some of the spruce trees

to look like they were in the distance.

The seagull who sat near me yesterday chose to sit on top of the car next to me!

I came home, sat down a shopping bag containing a new shirt, and situated the paintings.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw Lady Violet help herself to my shirt!

Lady Violet has not received any dog toys for several months!

She thought this new shirt was a present for her!

Look at the stink eye Lady Violet gave me when I tried to pull on the shirt!

She would not give my shirt back to me!  I called for Robert for help.

She clenched her teeth hard!  She was not giving up on my shirt!

I had to pry open her mouth to retrieve my shirt.

I was please there were no holes in the shirt.

Lady Violet is the most fun girl ever.

I was throwing popcorn in the air for the dogs to catch.

It is a very fun game to play.

Good night.

June 1, 2020 A Seagull Kept Me Company While I Painting In Schoodic!

Here I am painting at Schoodic with a seagull keeping me company.

He was pretty quiet but then out of the blue he would start laughing.

I made a family laugh as they walked by commenting on the pretty gull.

I told them, "Yeah, he is cute but he is a critic!"

I do enjoy making people laugh.

I suppose I could have painted the seagull!

He stood about five feet away from me for hours.

I know he wanted a treat. I had no treats.

"Schoodic View of Cadillac Mountain" 5x7 oil on copper 350$ framed in gold or black with gold.

Shipping is included in the price.

I had painted this one a few hours earlier.

The light is always wonderful later in the day.

There were many clouds creating intermittent light changes.

I would look up to see everything dark.

Then I would look up and my beam of light was back!

I only saw three cars at Schoodic.

I have never painted this view.

I thought about it but knew I had better get myself to the point!

This view is very nice but I prefer to have Cadillac Mountain in my paintings!

The light was dramatic and strong at Schoodic Point.

I would have painted this view.  I just loved the spruce trees with Cadillac Mountain in the distance.

Good night.
