May 29, 2019 Maine Sunrise Painting! Robert Plays Ukulele To The Goldens Retrievers.

"A New Day" 20x26 oil on copper 1750$ framed in gold or black with gold.  Shipping included in the price.

I have finished the sunrise over Duck Island painting.

It was fun and challenging.

I would love to see and paint more sunrises.

The most inspirational light is the sunrise.

Each sunrise is unique.

Yes I am inspired.

Robert entertained us all by playing the ukulele.

The dogs have never heard or seen this before.

Monet barked a few times.

Poppy was the most interested.

The concert when on for just a few minutes.

He was just strumming.

It was fun to see the dog's reaction to the ukulele.

Pretty view in Stonington, Maine.

Here is Dundee with his owner's gift shoppe.

People bought a house, tore it down, and now there is just sand.

This is their view.

I am going to paint this view someday.

I love it.

Spring is just beginning here in Maine.

I think Stonington's lilacs and fruit trees will be blooming next week!

A shed was torn down opening up this view!

Good night.

May 27, 2019 Working on a Sunrise Painting! Saw Dundee in Stonington! Sandy Point Beach Walk.

I have been working on a 20x26 sunrise painting.

I have a long way to go on this painting.

I just thought I would show you the start!

The painting was inspired by a lobster man's photo.

One of the benefits of being a lobster man is being out on the water at sunrise.

This photo seemed to speak to me!

Could I make it into a painting?

We will see.

"Snack Attack" 8x6 oil on copper Sold.  Thank you Karen!

We think Robert is suffering from a tick bite:  high fever, headache, and nausea.

I gave him a few doxycycline antibiotics to take and Ledum Palustre 200ck.

It is strange for him to be sick without a sore throat or cough or sniffles.

He has been gardening for days in our yard where he could have been bitten by a tick.

They only think I see different about Robert is his eyes seem half closed.

He is still working but sleeps when he comes home.

I am taking the dogs for long walks on the beach.

If he is not better by Tuesday...I will drag him to the dr.

I visited Dundee, the orange Maine coon cat, who lives in Stonington.

A girl was feeding Dundee cat treats when I arrived.

I presented a cat nip toy to Dundee.

He was looking fluffy!

I asked Dundee, "How was your Winter Dundee?"

He grabbed my hand, bit it softly, and kicked with his back legs.

I suppose he does this to him most favorite visitors.

Another family came to visit Dundee.

Dundee was holding court!

I was happy to see my feline friend.

The yellow house had tulips blooming.

Good Night!

I am grateful for the painting purchase.

"Time Will Tell" 20x26 oil on copper 1750$ framed in your choice of gold or black with gold frames.

Shipping included in the price.

I drew the peapod boat one day, then I painted all the next day, and finished it!

This is probably a record for me!

The drawing of the boat is always the most challenging part!

"Sound Of Silence" 20x26 oil on copper 1750$ framed in gold or black with gold.

Shipping included in the price.

Finished this painting too!

We have had milder temperatures and sun!

I know this helps me paint better!

Sunlight is so important.

Last Autumn Robert planted 1000 tulip and daffodil bulbs!

Robert told me he thought his tulips looked ready to see!

They are beautiful!

We have a little Keukenof Garden at our house!

Ted and Milo visited us.

Milo had a ball with my dogs sheep toy!

Ted told us Milo had met a skunk who sprayed him.

Ted mixed up a concoction of baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, and dawn soap.

He put this mixture on Milo right away.

This mixture took 97% of the smell off!

Then Milo met a porcupine that quilled him!

Ted reached into his picket for his pliers and ripped them out of Milo's face!

Ted is the right owner for Milo.

He knows exactly what to do!

Milo is such a happy dog now!

He was tossing the sheep toy up into the air!

Ted said Milo went to the garden center again.

Milo selected a moose toy.

15$ Ted said!

Milo destroyed the moose in the car on the way home.

He said Milo was a big hit at the garden store again.

Everyone watched as he selected a toy.

Ted laughed and shook his head!

Milo ripped up Monet, Poppy, and Lily's sheep.

He had a great time visiting!

Ted looks so much more happier now that he has his Milo.

Milo is calmer and still protective of Ted, food, and toys.

Ted puts Milo on a leash around dogs to keep everyone safe.

Ted will not be traveling to Washington State to visit family and work.

He is growing a huge vegetable garden for Milo to eat.

He will be taking care of Milo.

He said he loves Milo.

Monet wanted Poppy to play with his ball.

Poppy wanted to rest after having mulligan stew and a run at the beach!

Poppy took one of my socks!

Dogs are so entertaining.

Good night!

May 21, 2019 Starting A Dory Boat Painting Oil on Copper! Fun Stories Of Milo!

This last week I drew many different painting ideas.

Finally I decided to paint this older dory boat I found in Port Clyde.

These dories are so difficult to find!

This painting will be size 20x26.

Ted came to visit with Milo.

I kept my golden retrievers in the house.

Ted told me many fun stories about Milo.

First Ted told me he and Milo were sick and tired of this dreary weather.

Yesterday he brought out the small table top iron grill to cook steaks and chicken.

Using this old fashion contraption takes a long time to cook.

He gather wood, lights it, and waits.

Then the meat is cooked slowly.

Milo seemed to enjoy the whole process, waiting patiently, licking his lips.

I asked if Milo had steak and chicken too?

Ted laughed and said, "Of course!  He loved it!"

Then he asked if I had heard about Milo and the raccoon yet?

I answered, "No!  What happened?"

He related the story of how Milo and him were out hiking in their woods.

They were way down by the creek.

Milo kept running back and forth to Ted trying to get him to follow him!

Ted followed Milo to discover a raccoon having a seizure.

Ted thought the raccoon was rabid.

I asked, "Oh no!  What did you do!"

Ted said he dispatched the raccoon.

Milo had seen the raccoon needed Ted's help.

Good boy Milo!

I bribed my Monet with a slice of pound cake to brush him.

He knew it was a bribe and behaved himself.

He likes being brushed.

He just doesn't like it when the brush hits a knotted clump of hair.

Then he pretends to attack me but he doesn't bite.

Today he was very patient.

Lily stole a piece of paper having important mechanic appointment times.

She brought it over to her Mom Poppy.

Lily dressed up in a 1910 velour hat.

Here is Lily's younger Sister Lilly.  (named after Lily)

Here is Lily's other younger Sister named Daffodil sporting a necklace.

Monet and Poppy's puppies are all beauties!

Forsythia is in bloom!

This is where we live.

Robert's tulips and daffodils are blooming!

He said he planted 1000 bulbs!

Good night.

May 16, 2019 Painting Clothes Lines! Lily and Her Oldest Special Duck Toy.

What to do on a cold Spring Maine day?

Play tug of war with Lily's special little purple duck toy.

Lily has had this toy all her life.

This is the only toy existing in one piece over time.

Lily climbed into my lap.

Monet brought her his favorite pink bunny toy.

Then Monet started to bark at Lily.

Lily had a funny face.

Monet: "Give me my pink bunny back!"

Lily avoids eye contact.  She thinks:  Maybe he will go away.

Lily dropped the bunny on the floor.

Lily:  "Good grief!"

"Line Dance" 14x20 oil on copper.  Sold.  Thank you!

    This was a studio painting.

Sometimes I see a scene that must be painted!

The country title was suggested by a friend.  Perfect!

Maine finally has forsythia, daffodils, some tulips, and this shrub blooming!

Monet stole one lick of my strawberries and cool whip!

Good night!  Thank you for the painting purchase.

May 13, 2019 Spent The Day With Milo in Thorndike, Maine!

I was asked to dog sit Milo today.

I took him for a long walk around Thorndike first.

We met Amish men with four giant horses plowing a field for a garden.

Milo had been carrying a dish towel the whole time until he saw the horses!

I took over carrying the towel for the rest of our walk.

Milo with the dish towel.

We met an Amish Corgi dog.

We sat on the front porch resting after the walk.

I decided to take Milo to Unity Pond!

He enjoyed it all!

   He loves Unity Pond!

How refreshing!

We drove to the Amish store to buy fudge.

They only had cashew brittle.

I decided to buy a little box.

We both munched on brittle driving around.

We found a colt with his Mother.

We decided to head back to Milo's log cabin.

We saw many Amish with their horses out today.

Milo decided to take a nap on his porch.

I think he had a good day.

Ted wanted me to watch him so he could shop in NH.

I saw amazing laundry hanging today!

I am inspired to paint some laundry.

Have a great night.

"Schoodic Day" 8x10 oil on copper 525$ framed in gold or black with gold.  Shipping included.

Here is the same scene I am going to paint larger 20x26.

I sat on a rock, holding my small prochade box, and painted this one.

I worked on both of these plein air studies when I returned home for many hours.

Schoodic was absolutely beautiful.

I sat inside my van while I painted this one.

It was a very windy day but the van provided shelter.

I decided to minimize the spruce tree shadows across those white granite rocks.

Later I even minimized them more in my studio!

I also decided the lighter foam edge and darker wet rocks needed to be softened.

Too stripey!

I saw two other cars the entire time I was there.

My new thing is to lay down on the round warm granite rocks in between paintings.

I enjoy this so much!

This would be a nice view to paint!

This view could be painted!

I think I should spend some serious time in Schoodic this year!

Happy Mother's Day to all my friends.

Good night.

May 11, 2019 Working on A Large Oil On Copper Painting of Schoodic! Dogs Keep Me Company.

Here is the 20x26 oil on copper painting I am working on.

I will let this phase dry.

Then I plan to take it to Schoodic to work on the painting en plein air!

I am thinking of changing the little bit of road showing on the left.

I think it needs to be minimized.

I will need to go to Schoodic on a sunny day at high tide to work.

In the mean time I will do some plein air sketches at the same spot.

This is what we do on a rainy day in Maine.

Monet is gorgeous.

He still loves to sit on my lap.

They bring me toys.

They are entertaining!

Monet had a lot to say when Lily sat on my lap!

He was wagging his tail the whole time he was talking.

These strips of cardboard fell out of a box.

Lily was quick to get them all!

She walked around with them growling and wagging her tail!

Poppy was intrigued.

What is that Lily?

Monet had one of the cardboard piece under the table for himself!

He shredded the cardboard up and came out for more!

Lily makes a great selfie.

Now I had better get back to work!

Here is a photo of the scene I am working on in Schoodic.

I painted Robert and myself into the painting.

Robert saw it and smiled.

He said we looked cute sitting on the rock.

Good night.

May 9, 2019 Wonderful Day In Schoodic, Acadia National Park. Visit With Milo!

Robert and I explored Schoodic yesterday.

We hiked over many rocks to find different views!

We found a giant rock suspended by one tiny area at the top!

Here is a larger photo showing this rock.

We saw an interesting path of black granite down the center.

The water was beautiful.

I was pleased to see Ted with Milo this morning!

They came over for a visit.

Milo checked out all the dog toys.

.

Milo looked so great!

He was groomed, clean, and so happy.

His hair was so shiny.

Ted seemed slimmer and happier.

He said he loves how Milo lays his head on his shoulder at night.

He said Milo loves to swim in any body of water.

Great to see them both happy.

Have a good night.

May 7,2019 Beautiful Day in Schoodic! Update on Milo, The Rescued Golden Retriever!

I was asked to paint in Schoodic, Acadia National Park, with a few painters.

We had just painted in Tamworth, NH together.

It was a really nice day!

I tried to paint but I was too tired.

I started to paint this scene.

I relocated to Blueberry Hill's parking area where three of the painters were located.

Jody had the right idea!

She was perched on a rock with pillows reading instead of painting!

I sat on the rock next to her.

We talked about painting for a few hours.

The other two painters were ambitious!

Then we relocated to this spot in Schoodic.

I tried to paint this scene.

I was talking and not concentrating.

Painting turned out to be a disaster.

Here is the painting disaster.

5x7.

I liked the right side.

I was just too tired to paint.

I am going to take a few days off to recuperate!

I heard from Ted about Milo, the red golden retriever who I rescued!

Milo is doing much better since he was neutered.

Ted said he took Milo to a large garden center.

He said Milo walked through the line of people who were waiting to pay for their plants.

He squeezed in between the people.

He found a wall of stuffed animals!

Everyone in the line was watching Milo.

They were giggling.

Milo picked out a large rooster stuffed animal.

He turned around with the rooster in his mouth looking at all the people.

People loved him!

Milo was wagging his tail loving all the attention.

Then he walked in between the people to get back to Ted.

Everyone watched.

Milo stood next to Ted with his rooster.

Ted said, "Milo, do you want that rooster?  Well I guess we will buy it for you!"  15$!

I thought that was very cute.

Ted said he has not seen any more signs of aggression in Milo.

This sounds very positive!

Milo went home with a new rooster toy.

Good night.
