Artist Renee Lammers

November 29, 2019 Painted Andrea Smith's Decorative Gate at the Maitland Art Center.

"Andrea Smith's Gate" 6x8 oil on copper   Not finished yet.
I drove to the Maitland Art Center to paint with a Florida artist.
I chose this subject to paint because I have always loved this gate.
The gate is made of rod iron and painted metal flowers.
When I returned home, I looked at the image on the computer, and made changes.
I darkened the shadows on the water surrounding the gate, lightened the grass,
lightened the path to the gate, worked more on the gate.
I will share the finished painting tomorrow.
It was a challenging scene to paint.
I have very fond memories of the Maitland Art Center.
Thank you Robert for more photos of our goldens today.
Here four goldens are inside of Robert's smaller Volkswagon!
I was wondering how they would all fit inside his vehicle.
Luckily the beach is only a few miles away from our house.
Looks like Lady Violet is comfortable!
"Let's go Daddy!"
"To the beach!!"
So glad to see Robert had off work on Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Saturday, and Sunday!
The dogs had another great time at the beach.
He said it has been in the 40s but cold weather is happening soon!
Lady Violet answers to her name now.
Hmm is Lady Violet still nursing?
Looks like it!
Can't be!
Here is Lady Mary at Thanksgiving Dinner.
What a cute photo!  Thanks for sharing it with us.
Lady Mary has assumed her proper place at the dining table.
Oh Lady Mary is a cutie pie!
I know she was given a huge helping of Thanksgiving dinner.
Bruce has been very generous to share his photo of his grandchildren with Baxter.
They love her so much.  They visit on the weekends.
Thanks Bruce.  He is also letting our dogs out on Mondays.
Good night.

November 28, 2019 Happy Thanksgiving Day! Puppy Updates!

I am thankful Robert sent me many photos of our golden retriever playing in snow.

Lady Violet looks so happy with her Mother Lily.

She looks so beautiful in the snow.

Monet with Lady Violet!

Looks like Lady Violet is tracking prey!

They are having a blast!

They are getting along fine.

Robert told me Lady Violet likes to go break through the upstairs barricade so she can

visit Monet downstairs at 1am!

She has enough sleep by then.

He still takes her outside once or twice a night.

This is common with puppies until they have had a few growth spurts.

Lady Edith is doing great with her training.

Late at night Lady Edith is taken outside, put inside of a crate to sleep, and sleeps the rest

of the evening peacefully!

Mr. Carson went on his first road trip to Fort Kent near the Canadian border.

He is behaving himself and is so much fun.

He has had no issues with training to go out.

He enjoyed visiting with another dog who lives in Fort Kent.

He does great riding in the car.

I haven't heard anything about his playing in the water bowl.

Maybe Mr. Carson grew out of this funny game.

Lady Rose with her lobster man owner.

They were playing wildly when he captured this photo of Lady Rose

putting her paw on his head!

Lady Rose has never been alone since coming to live with them.

They took her out on the lobster boat.

She loved the boat ride.

The lobster man was thrilled about this because she will be spending many days with him on the boat.

She has been trying to bite the kids so they are going to train her not to bite.

Puppy's teeth are being pushed out by their adult teeth.

They need to be given broccoli stems and carrots to chew on to get rid of those baby teeth.

I remember all my puppies biting on my hands or arms when I picked them up.

I found giving them something to chew on while I held them worked best!

I doubt Lady Rose is being aggressive.

I wish I could be in two places for Thanksgiving today.

I had a wonderful meal with my Mom, Dad, Brother, Nephews, and Sister In Law Lynda.

Robert baked a cornish game hen with vegetables, cranberry orange relish, and an apple crisp all by himself.

He was kept company with four pretty golden retrievers.

Here is Robert's cornish game hen.

What a wonderful presentation!

I really wish I could have been in Maine for dinner.

"Royal Palm Turkey" 8x6 oil on copper 450$ framed in black with gold or gold.

Shipping included in the price.

This is an ornamental turkey that is never eaten.

The Royal Palm turkey was first seen in Florida, resulting from cross breeding.

I saw this tom turkey in Osteen, Florida at the Sunshine Ranch last year.

He stomped his feet and wanted to be painted.

I have been working on this painting for three days.

This was how it looked after the first day.

I was very happy with the painting at this point.

I should have left it alone!

The second day I reworked the painting.

I did like the sky much better.

The third day I worked repainting most of the painting again.

It is always dangerous working and working on a painting.

I think the painting is a bit of a mess now.

I will put it in the box to dry.

I am sure I learned a few things I won't do next time!

This painting had about 50% water and 50% rocks.

I knew this when I started the painting but thought it would not matter but it sure does!

The viewer of the painting doesn't know what is most important?  Is it the water?  Is it rocks?

There is gradation in the colors and values in the rocks but none in the water.

The water just looks like a piece of blue cloth.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

Thank you.

November 24, 2019 Lady VIolet, Baxter, Lady Edith Photos! 1910 Picnic Painting.

Lady Violet is doing marvelous at our house.

Here she is cuddling with her Grandfather Monet.

Robert took the dogs on a walk in 20 degree weather.

He carried Lady Violet when she became tired.

Then he would put her down so she could walk again with her family.

She did well and enjoyed the hike!

Lily enjoys her puppies Lady Violet.

Lily is growing back hair she lost during the later nursing weeks.

Lady Violet wanted to play ball with her Grandparents Poppy and Monet.

They play very gently with her.

She seems to inspire them to play more often!

Robert says she takes turns playing with each family member so no one feels left out.

He says they love the farm fresh dog patties on Saturday.

I miss them all.

Last night I dreamed I was eating one of their patties and made a mess!

My Brother told me having four dogs in a collector not a hoarder.

They all look so happy!

Lily plays with her puppy very sweetly.

She is a very gentle dog.  I miss them.

What fun!

"The Picnic" 14x20 oil on copper 950$ framed in gold or black with gold.

Shipping included.

I worked for three long days on this painting.

The photo of the picnic was in a 1910 photo album I own from Ebay.

Here is the charming photo.

I changed a few things to make the painting more interesting.

I created more light in the foreground.

I had to find a different lady for the position of the third lady.

She had her face covered.  There were two ladies looking towards her.

She needed to have her face seen.

I discovered a baby in the center of the photo under the front of the car on the right.

I removed a few brown paper bags.

I added a present and a jar of pickles.

I also added a checked hand towel coming out of a basket in the foreground.

Puppy Baxter (Brooke) is on the right with her doggy/nanny Katie.

She is learning so much.

They love her.

Lady Edith did not like her bath!

She knows how to sit, stay, come, and shake!

They took her to the ocean.

She is doing so well.  They all love her so much.

Everyone in her house seems happier.

She is doing therapy there!

Lady Edith put her foot up in the air when she wants to shake hands.

She is learning how to do 365.  She will be turning in a circle.

My Dad had a wonderful family gathering for his 85th Birthday.

Everyone brought him different polo styled shirts wrapped in different boxes.

He modeled each persons shirt for an hour or so then changed shirts.

I gave him a Rollins College blue polo shirt to wear to the basketball games.

It was a fun day.  He had a maple syrup cream icing with candied apple vanilla cake.

Good night.

November 20, 2019 Update of Downton Abbey Golden Retriever Litter. Vintage Laundry Painting Done.

"Pioneer Laundry Day" 14x20 oil on copper 950$ framed in gold or black with gold.

Shipping is included in the price.

I have been hard at work painting this one from a 1889 old photo.

Here is the photo.

She was using a washing board and boiling water to do the laundry.

I made a lot of changes in the painting today.

Here is the painting after two day of work before I reworked the whole thing today!

I am going to paint a picnic next!

The inspiration is a photo I purchased on ebay in an album.

I discovered babies legs up in the air in the center of the photos in the shade of the car!

That was shocking!  I showed my Mom and she said, "Yep I think you are right!"

Then I discovered a man in the shadows on the left wearing overalls behind the lady.

They pulled the car seats from the vehicles to sit on.

I think this will be fun to paint.

Robert says Lady Violet and her Mother Lily play all night until bedtime!

She is very gentle with her puppy.

I bet they really have a great time.

This is Lady Edith (Bailey)'s favorite person in her house!

They both love to cuddle up and take a nap together.

Bailey knows how to sit and shake on command!

They are still working on bathroom training.

We discovered the treats she was eating may have been very salty resulting in more

drinking and then accidents right after she went outside!

You can do it Bailey!

Baxter (Brooke) has been doing therapy work already!

She goes into the school where kids enjoy her.

She is allowed to go into a hospital where patients are getting medical procedures.

Her owner is required to bring disinfectant cleanser and paper towels just in case!

She greets the patients.  They love her.

She is still in training as a service dog.

Most of the training is done by another service dog and overseen by the elderly service dog.

The owner of the dog confesses he thinks he is doing the training but realizes the dogs are training Brooke!

Today she dug a giant hole large enough for a lawn mower to disappear.

I hope all the other puppies are doing great!

I enjoy hearing about the puppies as well as seeing photos of them!

Here is my Dad and I at the Rollins College Basketball game last night.

We were both wearing the school's colors!

I recently had my hair cut shorter!

Rollins won the game!

Very exciting to see the game with my Dad!

He has his Master's Degree from Rollins College in Business.

Here is my Mom and I on our way to an art function!

Good night!

November 18, 2019 Robert Took Great Photos Of The Goldens At The Beach! Dory Painting Rework!

Robert shared these photos he took of our goldens at the beach!

He takes marvelous photos!

Lily is still recovering from having puppies.

Her hair seems to be slowly growing back.

She is enjoying having her puppy at home so much!

Robert says he carries Lady Violet around the house a lot.

He makes sure she gets a lot of special attention.

Lady Violet was trying to keep up with her Mom!

What a great photo of them all!

Temperatures were very cold but Lady Violet has on her special little coat!

Ah now that is so cute!

Lily and Poppy sharing a stick!

I can see Lady Violet wanted to play.

That must be a LLBean jacket!

Lady Violet seems to be auditioning for LLBean Ads!

She has the 'look'!

Action shot!

Monet and his Daughter Lily walking on a log!

Robert went to a local farm to purchase these frozen dog patties.

They have chicken and livers and vegetables costing about 1.50$ each.

He lets these frozen patties thaw and grills them outside!

The title of the email was "I wish I was a puppy!"

Our dogs always eat better than we do.

I am sure Robert had plain yogurt for dinner while the dogs had these patties.

What a wonderful group of photos!  I enjoyed seeing them so much!

Here is the painting I am still working on!

"Serene" 20x26 oil on copper $1750 framed in gold or black with gold.

Shipping is included in the price.

I added the white boot at the bottom of the dory.

I repainted the whole thing.

I reconfigured the rocks and lighted and warmed them up!

I added more pure Cobalt Blue to the shadow!

I decided to use more blue in the water instead of red.

Finished.

Thanks Robert for the photos!

Good night.

November 16, 2019 Roberts Report and Photos About Lady Violet!

I loved Robert's report about Lady Violet.
She is like a red polar bear. She looks just a little darker than Poppy but with a light medallion.
She is growing good.   She is heavier since she has been here.
She was barking like the others when I came home.
No poop inside, lots a peeing,  like a swimming pool.  Mopped all up.
Playing hard with Poppy.  Lily plays gentler.
She is more like Poppy,  likes to play rough. She likes to chase Lily around the yard.
I keep her on the leash at all times. She is very fast. Very smart, mimics their poses and mechanics.

Robert sent me many beautiful photos of Lady Violet's first day at the beach!

She is wearing a new coat he purchased for her.

It was 13 degrees in Maine when they were at the beach!

They had a wonderful time with Lady Violet.

Lady Violet with her Mom Lily.

The light was great.

Lily with Lady Violet.  So cute!

Poppy with Lady Violet.

I am glad he has Lady Violet on a leash!

I can always trust Robert to do the right thing.

My Mom and I really enjoyed his photos!

Thank you Robert!  I wish I was there with you all.

I am really enjoying visiting my parents.

My parents are doing great.

I went to a Rollins basketball game with my Dad and they won!

November 13, 2019 Reworking a Victorian Porch Vermont Painting Again! Lady Violet Puppy Photos!

"Bella's Home" 14x20 oil on copper 950$ framed in gold or black with gold.

Shipping included in the price.

I reworked this painting again today!

I finally achieved the 'look' I was after!

I had to lighten the wood work around the door to drive the viewer's eye up the stairs

on to the porch!

I lightened most of the painting.

I united large shapes in the distance.

I added tree leaves coming back into the left upper corner to keep the viewer's

eye on the porch area.

I added warm grass tones and painted over all the dark fallen leaves.

My Mom said the painting was 'elegant'.

The compliment made me smile!

Lady Violet knows how to keep warm!

Grandfather Monet seems to enjoy the company.

What an adorable photo!  Thanks Robert.

Lady Violet is by no means trained to go outside yet.

She is so cute and this is a good thing.

It takes so much patience and time with a new puppy.

Robert is doing a great job.

Lady Violet likes her little chipmunk toy.

Her first owner said it has been a very sad three days without Lady Violet.

He regrets being unable to handle the outdoor bathroom training.

He was so sleep deprived.

He did the right thing to return her.

She doesn't seem affected by being returned.

Things work out for the best normally.

Baxter (Brook) waiting in her car for her master Bruce to return.

I know there was another human and two other golden retrievers in the car with her.

She looks so cute.  They all do!

Good night!

November 12, 2019 Lady Violet Puppy Is Getting A New Coat. Doing Great.

Lily and Lady Violet were snuggling on the same bed tonight.

It is very cold in Maine, 19 degrees!

Robert ordered little Lady Violet a coat so she can stay outside longer.

Tonight they had to come in after a few minutes because she was cold.

Robert put her in the kitchen, a safe place in our house, and took Monet, Lily, and Poppy back outside.

Robert said Lady Violet knows how to climb the stairs.

He will need to make a barrier so she is not downstairs getting into trouble unchaproned.

I asked him where Lady Violet is sleeping?

He said Grandmother Poppy and Lady Violet curl up together and sleep.

He said they were very sweet together.

I can see Lady Violet has a new collar.

She sure is sweet!

She is being a good girl too.

Robert said here is a few more things about Lady Violet:

She likes to dig in her bed looking for snakes before she lays down.

She likes a small piece of French baguette as a treat.

She steals sticks from Monet and he let's her!

She looks very red when she is laying in the snow.

Robert says she has a lot of hair!

He thinks she will be red but look like her Grandfather Monet when she grows up.

She likes to lay in my bean bag chair.

Today Kate who owns the Countess (Tess) came to take the dogs outside.

Thank you so much Kate and Bruce for letting our dogs out at lunch!

Robert really loves the puppy.

I wish I was in Maine now!

I am having a great time visiting with my parents.

Precious time.

Good night.

November 11, 2019 Lady Violet Puppy's First Night Back Home. Painting Winter Park Roses.

"Park Avenue Rose" 7x5 oil on copper.  350$ framed in gold or black with gold.

Shipping included in the price.

Today I painted a rose on Park Avenue in Winter Park, Florida.

The temperature was just perfect for plein air..80 degrees.

It amazed me how difficult a pink rose can be to paint.

I was lucky the light did not change much so I could study the rose.

I did tweak the rose when I came back home.

I made Columbia Restaurant's 1905 salad for my parents for lunch.

We also had an eggplant/beef dish my Mom made.

They eat their largest meal for lunch.

For dinner they often eat oatmeal before they sleep.

Their oatmeal could have dried apricots, brown sugar, and walnuts, or cherries.

I walked with my Dad in Costco to pick up a few food items.

They both seem to be feeling very well.

I am appreciating the time spent with my parents.

All the dogs inspected the bag that came in with Lady Violet.

They played hard with her outside last night.

Lady Violet was restless, switching dog beds, trying to find a comfortable spot, or a familar spot.

I am sure she woke up wondering her location.

Robert said she did fine last night.

She was ready to eat her breakfast with her family.

Then he took them outside to play at 5:00am.

He put Lady Violet in the kitchen by herself with a dog bed, water, food, and toys.

Our friend Bruce came over at 12pm to take all the dogs outside.

Robert said Lady Violet had used the puppy pad once to pee while he was gone.

She was happy to see Robert.  He was petting three dogs at one time when I called.

He said the older dogs were being very sweet and gentle with Lady Violet.

He said she was very cute.

Here are a few more river photos from jet skiing a few days ago.

Very interesting terrain along the river here in Florida.

Good night.

November 10, 2019 Lady Violet Returns To Our Home!

"The Good Life" 7x5 oil on copper 350$ framed in gold or black with gold.

Shipping included.

I am sharing a favorite available painting.

Lady Violet's new parents tried really hard.

They had never owned a dog or puppy before.

They didn't realize how much work it was to raise a puppy.

They asked if Lady Violet could come back home.

I told him to not feel bad at all.

He said he could have Lady Violet back in four hours!

He was driving from Massachusetts.

I called Robert to let him know.

The man called Robert to verify it was fine to return her.

Four hours later Lady Violet arrived back in Maine.

Our dogs barked until they realized who it was!

Monet said, "Is that our Lady Violet??"

Poppy said, "Yes that is Lady Violet!"

Lily said, "My little girl is back home for good!"

They played like crazy outside.

We plan to keep Lady Violet.

Now we are trying to figure out the logistics of a puppy at home with the other dogs while Robert is working.

I may need to fly back to Maine, put her in a little soft case, and fly back down to Florida with her.

I have planned to stay in Florida for 2 1/2 months.

She might be fine with having the other dogs to keep her company.

We have a friend coming in to let them out at 12pm.

One thing I do know is we are happy she is back and things will work out!

Mr. Carson, (Rufus) has been doing excellent in Old Town, Maine.

He does not bother the two cats.

He doesn't even chase them!

They said he is being a very good boy.

Patmore (Chloe) and Earl (Jack Odin sometimes called "Fat Jack") are doing great.

Their new owners are so proud of them.

At 4:30am Katie, the two year old golden retriever work up his owner Bruce.

Bruce thought Katie needed to go outside.

He prepared himself to take her out but realized it was little Baxter (Brooke) who wanted out.

Baxter had communicated to Katie to wake up Bruce so she could go out.

Bruce thought this was amazing!

It really is special.

At 6:30am they all went outside.

Katie did laps around the yard with little Baxter in hot pursuit!

She tired out the puppy.

Sounds like Katie is really helping with the puppy.

"A New Day"  20x26 oil on copper  1750$ framed in gold or black with gold.

Shipping is included in the price.

My Mom really liked this painting.

Here are a few more photos of the river.

I love the pink color in the distance.

Good night.

November 9, 2019 Reworking Oil Paintings! Puppy Updates! Beautiful Wild Florida Images.

Lady Edith looks well!

There is the fun loving Lady Edith!

One of Lady Edith's owners Pete was enjoying holding her.

He loves her so much.

They are working on the outdoor training.

Lady Edith went nuts over a green bean!

Here is Baxter going outside after a light snow dusting.

You can see her paw prints in the snow.

"Bella's Home" 14x20 oil on copper 950$ framed in gold or black with gold.

Shipping included in the price.

I reworked this painting just a bit.

I softened the mountain's edge against the skyline.

I created an opening between the distant trees.

I lightened the field behind the trees.

I lightened a path on the left coming to the viewer.

"Serene" 20x26 oil on copper 1750$ framed in black with gold or gold.

Shipping included in the price.

I reworked this painting quite a lot!

I wanted the mood to be lighter.

I lightened and warmed the interior of the boat.

I changed the boat color to an orange instead of a bright red.

I lightened the water with more pinks and less blue.

I think the painting has a warmer more inviting look.

My brother Jim and his wife Lynda and dog Isha invited me to jet ski at a park in Geneva, Florida.

The jet ski went 65mph.

Here are a few pictures of the river.

Tannic acid from trees causes the water to be red or brown.

My brother called this area deep creek.

There were many white storks and egrets.

The river was beautiful and wild.

This is where Tarzan was filmed in the 1940s.

A few monkeys were released after or during the filming.

Monkeys are still surviving in the wild.

We didn't see any monkeys.

I thought this image was so beautiful.

My brother wanted to take my photo sitting on the jet ski.

I felt more comfortable having him drive.

This thing has a turbo boost to go 65 mph!

I prefer going 10 mph.

I saw so many places to paint but I don't think I would like to do it.

There are too many wild animals and reptiles!

Good night.

November 8, 2019 Update On Earl and Patmore, Baxter, Lady Mary, Lady Rose. Old Photo Of My Dad's Family.

They sent me this cute photo of Earl (Jack Odin) and Patmore (Chloe).

They love to cuddle up in the little bed to nap during the day.

They are having a ball in Vermont!

Lady Rose (Bella) was taking a nap on the bed!

She is the perfect fit for their family.

She has not swam in the lake yet.

The kids have given her a few baths.

She loves being bathed by the children.

She does great during long car rides.

She has not been on the lobster boat yet.

They love her.

Baxter was taking a nap as close to Ziva, 11 year old golden retriever, would allow.

Baxter (Brooke) plays nonstop with 2 year old golden retriever named Katie.

Katie has fallen in love with her little friend Baxter.

She is there when Baxter goes outside.

Today Katie and Baxter were sitting in the front yard watching the kids get on the school bus

next door.

The school bus stopped in front of their house, bus driver took their photo, and all the kids

went to the window so they could see the golden retrievers!

Katie told Baxter to smile.

They were waiting for the porcupine to eat apples at the mail box.

Bruce says after eating apple the porcupine comes over to look at the golden retrievers.

Bruce has been trying hard to capture a photo of the porcupine with Baxter and Katie.

Many animals come to visit Katie and Ziva.

Bruce shared this photo with an arrow where the porcupine eats his apples.

Baxter is waiting patiently with her best friend Katie.

Here is Lady Violet (Zoe) in her new bed.

Lady Mary (kids voted to name her Phoebe) has not made one mistake in her new house.

She was always the 'over achiever'.

Her owners thanked me for a wonderful puppy.

Lady Mary likes to guard the stove with her new friend 7 month old lab Hines.

I suppose if someone is cooking Lady Mary is right there to accept food.

I am in Florida visiting my parents

We had a great time looking at older photos.

My Dad shared a very old photo of his family.

My Dad is in front center.

Surrounding him are his sisters, one husband, his brother, and their daughter and wife.

Elsie, is wearing the plaid dress on the right, is now 86 years old and doing fine.

My Dad is now 84 and doing fine.

We wondered what type of car was shown in the photo.

We could not figure this out.

One of the husbands did always drive Studebakers.

He careful wrote on the back of the photo.

He admired the photo for a long time.

When I enlarged the photo on my lap top for him to see, he was very surprised, and looked.

All are in heaven except my Dad and his Sister Elsie.

My Mom and I gave my larger paintings a critic.

This took several hours.

It is amazing what mistakes I could see looking far away at these paintings.

The red dory painting was up on the easel tonight.

I repainted much of the painting to lighten the mood.

I will share the painting revamped tomorrow.

I think it is much improved.

Robert said Lily is feeling better since the puppies have gone to new homes.

She is getting three meals a day to recover.

She is back to being her happy self again.

Being a Mother was stressful but she did a fine job.

Monet and Poppy are getting much needed rest.

One of the puppy's collars fell out on my van.

I starred at it in my hands a long time.

I miss them so much.

I had a lump in my throat.

Good night.

November 6, 2019 Photos Of The Puppy's Dad. Baxter Puppy Learning How To Ring A Bell.

Baxter (Brooke is the new name) has been in training to be a service dog.

She has learned how to sit.

She has learned how to ring a bell when she wants to go outside.

Look how cute she is!

The new owners worried Katie or Ziva would open the door for Baxter.

Both dogs realized this was not their place to open the door.

Katie stands by Baxter after the bell is rung, waits for Bruce to open the door, then goes outside with Baxter.

Katie watches after Baxter when she is outside.

When she sees Baxter going out of the yard, she runs over, and bumps her back into the yard.

Bruce is always outside watching Baxter too.

Katie has been bringing sticks and toys to Baxter!

Baxter is growing and getting darker red hair.

She has been sleeping on the pillow by the head of Bruce.

Bruce just loves having a puppy.

The grandchildren have been busy training and playing with the puppy too.

Baxter wants to tell the other puppies to be good and have fun!

Lady Edith knows how to follow her new owner down the street to her owner's Moms house.

I saw a video of Lady Edith running with her family outside!

They are enjoying having a puppy for the first time.

Very sweet!

I finally received a few more photos of the Father of the puppies named Sampson.

He is a nice color of red.

He doesn't look very large.

He has a nice straight back.

I wonder if the second photo is suppose to show his teeth?

Sampson is a very handsome looking dog.

I am in North Carolina on my way to Florida.

I have 7 hours more to drive before I see my Mom and Dad.

Robert took down the dog pen and cleaned the room.

He also cleaned up the puppy yard.

He told me Monet, Lily, and Poppy seem very tired.

They were sleep deprived too!  Thank you very much Robert.

I could not have helped raise those 9 puppies without your help.

Good night.

November 5, 2019 Lady Edith's Most Excellent Road Trip To Connecticut!

I tucked Lady Edith into her hotel bed in Vermont.

I sat next to her just marveling how pretty she looked.

She was fast asleep after learning how to walk on a leash, learning how to climb stairs, and having a good play

with her brother Earl and Patmore at their new home.

She also traveled 6 hours in the van with her sister Patmore.

I decided to sleep right next to her so that I could keep track of her.

She rolled around the bed.

Sometimes she had her feet and paws straight up in the air snoring!

I woke up once with her nose snuggling under my chin!

Then I woke up because she was routing around my hair looking for something to drink.

She finally climbed under the sheets and laid flat!

I could not find her!

I woke up, turned the lights on, felt all over the covers until I discovered a flat warm lump!

I looked under the covers.  She was sound asleep.

It was 47 degrees in the hotel room.

She discovered climbing under the pillows or the comforter was the way to keep warm.

She woke up at 5am.  We went for a brisk walk.

Then we returned to sleep until 10am.

She ate her kibble and canned chicken.  Took a drink of water.  We hit the road!

She looked out of the windows as we passed barns and fields of cows.

Sitting in the moving van made Lady Edith sleepy.

She seemed deep in thought.

Where was she going?

Her eyes kept getting heavier and heavier!

Then she decided to sleep until she arrived at her new home in Connecticut.

What a loving home!

Her new family were lined up in front of their house waiting her arrival!

They had huge smiles as we pulled into their driveway.

It was a long drive from Maine to Connecticut!

Lady Edith sat on my lap in my arms looking out the window at them.

I suspect she was giddy with excitement.

They came over to the van as I placed her on the grass.

They pet her and marveled over her.

She walked around and looked at them.

It was a wonderful meeting.

I know they will love her very much.

Inside she was showed off to more family and friends.

I suggested giving her a chunk of broccoli stem and give it to her while she is sitting on someone's lap.

Oh that was precious to watch.

She sat and lunged at the broccoli stem!

They all laughed at how eager she was to enjoy the broccoli stem.

Who would have known a puppy would like something like this?

I gave Lady Edith a goodbye hug.

I drove away thinking what a lovely group of people I had just met.

The puppies were all in wonderful homes!

They were healthy and happy.

I could not have asked for anything more.

There was fall foliage left in Connecticut.

I am thankful for an update on Lady Violet.

She slept all the way to Massachusetts.

She is enjoying her new bed.

She loves having fresh water and all the food she wants!

Lady Mary is ruling over a seven month old lab named Hines.

She also seems to have the upper hand with two cats!

She looks very pleased with herself.

They love her so much.

Mr. Carson.  Sleeping on the couch?  Why not?

I wonder how the water bowl is situated?

Let's say a prayer for the health and happiness for all of Lily's puppies.

Lily, Monet, and Poppy are doing fine being puppy free.

I am glad.

Good night.

November 4, 2019 In Vermont With Lady Edith! Patmore Was Delivered Safely.

Lady Edith and I are in a Vermont hotel.

She is rolling all over the bed and pillows!

She likes to watch TV, attack my hair, run under the bed, and occasionally bark loud!

She already rolled off the bed once.

She had her dinner and wanted out twice!

Now she is sound asleep.

Patmore and Lady Edith slept for the whole 6 hour drive from Maine.

We did stop once at a wood bridge.

Here they are running around near the bridge in Vermont.

Patmore is now at her new home in Vermont.

Earl gave her a hero's welcome.

Chester, the bernese mountain dog really loved Patmore and Lady Edith.

Ralph, the 2 year old golden retriever watched with his tennis ball.

Earl and Patmore will have a lot of fun in Vermont.

They will be very happy there.

We stopped to visit little Baxter (Brooke) at her new home.

Ziva and Kathie, the two adult golden retriever service dogs could not believe more puppies arrived!

The puppies and the older dogs all played very nice.

They are going to look after Monet, Poppy, and Lily on Mondays.

Baxter will be happy to see their Mom and Grandparents again!

I know Bruce will share photos with me so we can see this.

The lady who purchased Countess (Tess) lives a few blocks from me.

She is going to visit Monet, Poppy, and Lily on Tuesdays and Thursdays with Countess.

I bet the Countess will be happy to visit.

I stopped at my favorite Maine pumpkin farm.

This was on Twin Mountain Road in New Hampshire.

Lily insisted on giving Lady Edith and Patmore a last sip for the road.

She did not seem concerned about their leaving.

Poppy was concerned.

She followed me to the door with worried eyes.

She loved the puppies.

I pat her on the head and gave her a hug.

I gave all the dogs a long hug and told them I would be back soon.

I have friends scheduled to let my dogs outside at lunch time.

Robert is home to care for them before and after work.

He will be taking them to the beach.

He is also off on the weekends now.

Tomorrow morning Lady Edith and I are driving to Connecticut to her new home.

I know she will be very happy.

Mr. Carson (Rufus) slept soundly with his new family.

What a nice bed he has.  Looks like he is very comfortable!

I have not heard about his water bowl yet!

Good night.

November 3, 2019 Only Two Golden Retriever Puppies Home Now. Drama Over Patmore.

We had thought of keeping Patmore.

I started to picture myself in the van with four golden retrievers driving to the beach every morning.

Unloading the van, each golden jumping out, running down the trail, getting to the beach.

I would be trying to keep track of four golden retrievers!

The huge expensive of having one more golden started to worry me.

Patmore needed a better home.

Word reached a local doctor and his wife about our litter.

They came to visit Patmore.

The timing was wrong for them to have a puppy.

They needed a fence, the dog daycare was booked solid, and they worked 12 hours a day.

Patmore would be able to see them early morning and late at night.

In this case Patmore would be better off at our house, going to the beach twice a day,

dining on homemade Mulligan Stew with her kibble, and playing with her Mom, and Grandparents

all day and night!

A few hours past.  The couple from Vermont who had taken Earl (Jack Odin) home started

to miss Patmore.

They had driven Patmore and Earl to the vet.

They had spent a few hours with all the puppies.

They had fallen in love with Patmore.

They asked me if they could have Patmore.

I thought about it.

Patmore would be on a ten acre fenced farm in Vermont with her Brother Earl.

The man studies at home to be a pharmacist.

He is home most days to play with the dogs.

They have a older Bernese Mountain male dog and a 2 year old golden retriever.

They just love their dogs.

I said they could have Patmore.

Tomorrow I will be driving Patmore to Vermont, staying at a Jeffersonville, Vermont

hotel, then driving Lady Edith to Connecticut to her new home.

Patmore was beating up on Mr. Carson.

My heart is in a bit of a knot!

I know everything will work out for the best.

This is Mr. Carson (Rufus) last night enjoying being held.

He went home with his new family today.

He was such a snuggler!

They thought he was just perfect!

Mr. Carson was standing by his favorite water bowl last night.

Patmore was right behind him on the left.

I was surprised he didn't splash when I put down a fresh bowl of water.

He was so entertaining!

They will need to figure out how to keep water in his bowl!

Mr. Carson took over Patmore's new bed last night.

He was so comfortable.

I loved his expression while he slept.

Lady Edith was laying on the right.

Mr. Carson was in the bed.

Patmore was behind his bed.

Countess was to the left.

Lady Mary was somewhere to the right.

Lady Edith was looking very beautiful as usual this morning.

My van is packed.  I am ready to start driving tomorrow!

Grandfather Monet was watching people walk to their car with Mr. Carson.

He didn't make a sound.  He just intensely watched.

When the car door slammed, he turned around, and looked for a stick.

Grandfather Monet played hard with the puppies.

Lady Mary, blue collar, with Lady Edith, green and black striped collar.

Mr. Carson was getting roughed up by Lady Mary!

Here they are this morning before four puppies were picked up.

Lady Edith was pawing her Mom Lily in the face on the right.

Patmore was watching.

This was fun to watch.

Mr. Carson was on his back on the left with three girls sniffing him.

Patmore and Lady Edith was dancing on their hind legs with Lily.

Lily was watching very quietly as Lady Violet was carried away to the car.

Lily didn't seem very upset about the puppies leaving.

Inside the house her spirit seemed lighter.

She was prancing around wagging her tail!

The huge responsibility of having 9 puppies was leaving her.

She can be Lily again!

They were a special litter of puppies.

I still can not believe none of them had any birth defects or illnesses.

Amazing.

There are two puppies left in the house.  Patmore is here with Lady Edith.

They are sharing their red bed.  They are quiet.

I took turns holding each of them.

Robert fed them a big dinner.

Lady Edith may have eaten most of the dinner as her stomach was huge.

Here is the Countess before she was picked up by her new owner.

The only time I felt sad today was when I saw Countess with her new owner.

I could tell how much happier she is with her puppy.

She has been grieving from the loss of her husband and dog for a few years.

She will have wonderful Countess (new name Tess) to keep her company.

I will be visiting Tess who lives a few blocks away and posting photos and updates of her.

Lady Mary was the last to be picked up today!

She is on the left, Patmore in the middle, and Lady Edith on the right.

I received a video of Lady Mary in her new home.

She was chewing on a raw hide bone next to a 7 month old lab puppy, Hines, who had a bone too.

Lady Mary was growling and barking at him when he moved to sniff her bone.

Her attack was loud and frightening on the video!

He bounded back out of the way.

She said Lady Mary rules the house!

She rules over two cats and one puppy named Hines.

She looked very happy.

Lady Violet, lavender collar, jumped right out of the pen, sprinted across the living room,

and ran right up to her new owners waiting at the white picket fenced gate.

She was ready to leave with them!

They were driving her back to Massachusetts.

They were very nice people.

I have a feeling we will be seeing more photos of Lady Violet (new name Zoe).

Wow!  The house is quiet.  Thank you for reading the adventures of Lily's puppies.

Those adventures will be updated periodically.  I will post more photos.

They will live rich lives with their new owners.  They will make many people very happy.

"Stonington's Waves at Sand Beach" 6x8 oil on copper sold this morning.  Thank you!

"Vermont's Kissing Bridge" 6x8 oil on copper.  Sold. Thank you.

I am so thankful for the painting purchases.

Goodnight.

November 2, 2019 Six Puppies At Our House! Tomorrow They will Be Two. Photos In New Homes.

At 9:31 Baxter (new name Brooke) was handed over to her new owners.

Bruce was with his three grand kids.

Brooke decided she liked their couch!

They placed a sheet over the couch so that Brooke could sleep there!

The kids played with her for many hours.

They have two golden retriever adults, this is Katie and there is 11 year old Ziva.

Ziva was probably watching from afar!

Katie really enjoyed playing with her new little sister Brooke.

Katie has a dog friend who lives next door.

This dog friend is part pit bull and rhodesian ridgeback.

At first this dog friend was fighting, biting, and stealing toys.

Katie, the golden retriever, overlooked these traits.

She visited this dog often.

She invited this dog back to the house, opened her front door, and let the dog inside.

Then Katie offered dog treats from the refrigerator.

Katie knows how to open doors!  She is a service dog.

Bruce, the owner of the house, finds Katie with this neighbor dog in his house often.

The dog is now gentle.

Here is Brady, the neighbor's dog on the right.

Kathie, Baxter, and Brady will have fun this winter.

The lobster man picked up Lady Rose (new name Bella) at 8:30am.

The funny thing about this was Lady Rose leaped out of the pen, ran out the door,

directly to the lobster man waiting at the white picket fenced gate!

I told him that she is the only one who could jump out!

All I had to do was lift her up so he could hold her.

I handed him his paper work, ball, and he looked down to see Lady Rose following

him to his truck!

I don't think Lady Rose even looked back!

He was so excited to take Bella home to his adopted three children, 8 years old and up.

Here is the youngest child holding Bella.

He said they were all so happy.

At 9:30 am Earl was picked up by his Vermont new owners!

They had a six hour drive with Earl (new name Jack Odin).

She had this wonderful photo of Jack Odin riding in their car.

She said he was being perfect!

They were so pleased with their new puppy.

I am very delighted to have found such great homes, raise healthy puppies, and have a healthy Mom!

Here is Patmore.

She seemed to notice a few of her siblings were missing.

"I would have liked to have bitten Lady Rose a few more times."

Patmore wants Earl, Lady Rose, and Baxter to know she ate apples, fresh hot

rottisserie chicken, and Blue Buffalo kibble for puppies for dinner.

The Countess and Lady Edith were designing dresses out of paper towels for Mr. Carson.

Mr. Carson said he would try on their dress.

He would not wear this dress in public.

"Absolutely not in public!  I have a reputation to up hold as head butler of Downton Abbey!"

Mr. Carson, (new name Ruffus) has a message for his Brother Earl.

"Hey man!  I miss you buddy!  Let's hang out sometime on Skype.

I will be living in Old Towne, Maine.  I know Vermont is a long ways for you.

It is nice and quiet since you left.  I didn't realize how noisy you were!

You have some lungs on you!  I will try to remember all the things you taught me.

Best of luck!  Woof!"

Lady Edith on the right, is happy to be at home still.

Patmore was a little quiet today.

Lady Edith said, "I will be happy to finally be rid of Lady Mary!  Oh how she just gets under

my fur.  She is always singing that song, "I'm so pretty!  Oh so pretty!"

She makes me want to be sick!  Oh I guess I will miss her. She is my sister.

I will be far far away from everyone in Connecticut soon!  My own life!  I always wanted to be

my own person..oh I mean my own dog!"

Mr. Carson, on the left and Lady Edith on the right were hanging out in my bean bag chair.

Grandfather Monet and Grandmother Poppy were watching over the puppies while Lily

took a much needed nap!

There were a few puppies out in the fenced area, a few inside the house, and a few on the deck.

I saw something that looked like a little turd on the floor but it turned out to be a piece of stick!

I chuckled to myself!

They were so good today.

No mistakes inside the house again!

Lily noticed when a puppy was carried away to a car.

She held her head up and paid careful attention.

She didn't seem sad.

She knows they need to go to new homes.

She has been a fantastic Mother to the puppies.

Lily nursed the puppies this morning.

There is no more milk to give them.

I think it is a social thing for her.

She didn't complain.  The puppies were gentle.

Her hair is growing back fast.

She will enjoy her regular trips to the beach.

Grandfather Monet was playing hard with the puppies.

He had a teddy bear to share with the Countess.

Then he threw around a little chipmunk to the delight of all.

Grandfather Monet turned out to be the one who played with the puppies.

He was also their teacher.

Lily, their Mother, took care of their needs.

She was also protective and nuturing.

Grandmother Poppy, was an incredible second Mother.

She was a wonderful babysitter and protector.

I am amazed at how they worked as a team to raise these puppies.

This was taken early this morning.

There were a couple of puppies below still in the pen.

They turned out to be a very pretty litter of puppies.

Lily was looking at the puppies with her Dad.

"We love you all very much."

"You are welcome back here anytime."

"You guys be good dogs now.  Don't run away.  Don't go into the street."

Grandfather Monet said, "Eat as much good food as you can."

"If anyone is mean to you, call, and I will come to bite them!"

Grandmother Poppy yelled, "Do not each mushrooms, grapes, or raisins!"

Tomorrow Lady Mary, Countess, Mr. Carson, Lady Violet will go off to their new homes.

New puppies updates will be shown here on a daily basis.

We will see these puppies grow old in their new families.

Good night.

November 1, 2019 The Vet Said 100% Healthy Perfect Golden Retriever Puppies!

Pretty Patmore said, "I knew I was perfect!"

I took all 9 puppies to the vet today in Brewer, Maine!

I am so grateful for the help of Earl's new owners help!

They took Earl, (Jack Odin) and Patmore in their Jeep to the vet.

They followed me in my van with the other 7 puppies!

My cardboard box homemade puppy pen worked out fine.

I was so glad the vet said the puppies were 100% healthy and perfect!

There are many birth defects in puppies but they had none.

I am still amazed.

They have great genes.

Earl, (Jack Odin) thinks he has won the new parent lottery.

"I love them both!  I miss them already"

Earl laid very still in their arms.

He did all the appropriate puppy things like make nice eyes, lay like a baby in their arms,

make cute little noises, and pose if they looked.

Mr. Carson, (Ruffus) made us laugh many times after I brought a fresh water bowl to the pen.

Within a few seconds, Mr. Carson, popped up, ran to the bowl, and splashed many times.

He would stop, look up, and stay standing in the water bowl while we roared with laughter!

Lady Mary saw how much attention Mr. Carson received and also tried splashing!

We roared with laughter when Lady Mary did this too!

Earl even splashed in the water bowl.

The vet thought Lady Violet (new name Zoe) was so amazing she actually gasped when I put her on the table!

She thought all of the puppies were beautiful but there was just something about Lady Violet.

Lady Violet was boasting about this extra attention from the vet all the way home in the van.

Here you can tell she is so proud.

"I am the most beautiful puppy!"

Lady Mary said "I am the most beautiful and most powerful puppy."

Lady Edith was happy the whole 'vet' thing was over!

"Goodness!  She had her hands all over me! I never want to go back there again!"

"I should have received a treat for that kind of touching."

Lady Edith is so cute.

Lady Rose, red collar on the left, showed everyone how she can leap right out of the pen!

She could win an olympic metal in high jumping.

She was voted more athletic today.

She has a very sweet disposition and is super cute.

Look at Lady Edith's face today after the vet.

"Lady Violet always gets attention. Hmph!"

The Countess had her lip tucked under her teeth!

"I am never going to the vet again.  What a fresh lady."

"I did like riding in the van."

Baxter on the left (new name Brooke) forgot all about the vet.

Lady Edith on the right, can't wait to go to Connecticut!

"I am going to be eating treats and playing with toys all the way there!"

Thank you again for helping with the puppies today!

Good night.
