September 30, 2025 Thanks Penske For A Great Deal On A Moving Truck!

"Let There Be Light" 8x10 oil on copper 850$ framed in gold or black with gold. Shipping and

frame are included.

I am thankful for Penske truck in Bangor, Maine for a fantastic deal, 2100$, for a 26 ft

truck and car carrier for 10 days.  I will be moving my painting equipment, easels, frames,

art books, some clothes to Florida.  Robert prefers for a house to be a house and not an art studio

and art gallery.  I probably should have purchased a wood building to be my art studio a long time

ago.  I am pretty sure Robert will be much happier with all my possessions out of his house.  I have

been married to Robert for 20 years. I know it is not an easy thing to be married to an artist.  It

takes a lot of courage to move.  I can always come back to paint anytime I would like.

I will have 6 days to move my possessions into the truck and unload it and 4 days to drive. I think

this will be perfect.  I have been deep in thought about this for months.  I feel like it will be a big relief.

Life is just way too short.  My Mom would be so proud of me!

Once I get to Florida I will be trying to figure out a way to pay off the moving expenses and the food

on my credit card for the past many months.  Painting sales can never be counted on.  Things can be very

rough for many months or years.  Lifeguarding is not a lucrative business but more like a public service job.

I believe the crazy short hours prevented me from producing paintings this last Summer.  I will be brave!

Thank you.

My friend Jodi took this photo of me at Asticou.  I like it.  Seems very hopeful.

September 26, 2025 A Visit To Asticou Gardens And Thuya Garden Today!

I went to Asticou Gardens with a friend Jodi.  She said she loves this garden

because it makes her feel peaceful.  The colors of Autumn were here!

I confess to spending most of my time searching for frogs.  I spotted two small ones and was

pretty pleased.

What I liked most about Asticou Garden were all the different peppery smells

of the different trees and bushes.

We went to Thuya Garden next.  She said she loved this round Vase best.  I admired it too.

I always admired the old Pewter Water container but this replacement is good.

There was still an abundance of Flowers to enjoy.

I learned from the Beekeeper, at 4pm the Asters produce pollen.  The other flowers do not as

much.  The Bees all flock to the Asters to collect pollen.

I stood in front of the Asters and admired all the Bees.  Look at the left-hand side of this photo.

Festus was mad at Miss Kitty for taking over his bed.  There are two of these beds but

they like the larger one with all the cardboard taken out.  They have not been making a lot of

noise during their fights because of Lady Violet!  Lady Violet comes rushing over to them and

barks as loud as she can and bumps them with her nose to stop fighting.  The first few times

I jumped out of my chair.  Very alarming!  The cats both ran for their lives.  Now Festus and

Miss Kitty make faces at each other without all the hissing and low growling so that Lady

Violet does not charge them!  I noticed that Lady Violet may be aware of this.

Look at that face Miss Kitty made!  Scary!

Festus won his bed back.  He stood in front of his empty bed for half hour before he decided

to get into the bed.  Lady Violet looked like she was on alert.  I often see Lady Violet licking

Miss Kitty.  Have they become friends?  I see Miss Kitty stop in front of her to allow her to give

her a greeting!

Thank you for looking at my paintings.  Thank you for the painting purchase.   Thank you Jodi

for a fun day and thanks for treating me to lunch!  Good night.

September 24, 2025 A Beekeeping Class Paintings To See!

"Jodi's Beekeeping Class" 6x8 oil on copper 450$ framed in gold. Shipping and frame are included

in the price.

I really have enjoyed painting a different subject for me.  The light on their bee suits and the luminous

quality of the scene with the Bees was fun to paint.

The antics continue with the cats!

Poor Festus was sound asleep when I saw Miss Kitty lay down next to him.  I knew she was

going to ambush him.  Should I have yelled out, "Festus, Look out!".  I kept quiet and then she

grabbed his head!  She still ambushes him when he is in his litter box!

I walked the cats in the backyard.  Festus seemed angry at something. Maybe it was

the cold weather.  He thinks humans control the temperature outside.  Or maybe it was because

Robert took Lady Violet to the beach.  He probably wants to come along!

Painting sales have been poor.  I shipped out two paintings these last long few months.

I am getting ready to head to Florida for a while.  I am excited to see my Dad and Brother.

I am not sure if I will do any more Lifeguard work.  I will continue to paint.

Good night.

September 22, 2025 A Beekeeping Class Paintings To See!

"Searching for The Queen Bee" 8x10 oil on copper 950$ framed in gold or black with gold.

Shipping and frame are included.

I worked on this painting for 20 hours over the last two days and nights. The subject was so

great for a painting.  I saw this scene at my friend Jodi's house.  She taught a Beekeeping Class.

I took photos.  The light on the Beekeepers was great.  I had to change a few things to make it

a better design.  I needed 7 Beekeepers for a good number.  I changed the direction of the lady on

the far-left side and changed her costume to White.  I removed a few things around the figures

to simplify.  I loved the colors.  Painting the Bees were fun.

Good night

September 21, 2025 Back From Painting In The Monadnock, New Hampshire.

"A Marsh On The Way To Peterbourgh on Route 101" 4x6 oil on copper 300$ framed in gold

or black with gold.  Shipping and frame are included.

"Monadnock View From Old Marlborough Road in Dublin, New Hampshire" 4x6 oil on copper 300$

framed in black with gold or gold.

The top painting was fun to paint.  I was driving back from Harrisville, NH where I had set up to

paint in front of the general store.  I met the famous Putney Painter, Andrea Schiedler.  She took me on

a tour of the town in her car with her little patient dog!  She showed me her studio.  I gave her two pieces of

copper to try.  We gave each other a hug.  I always admired her work.  I was so excited to meet her.  I thought

it was funny that the marsh spoke to me.  It was so peaceful there.  Plenty of parking.  I saw many Dragonflies

and Blue Herons while I painted.

The second painting was next!  I was in Dublin, driving on Lake Road, disappointed in all of the do not park along

the road signs.   The pavement ended and a dirt road begun.  I was on Old Marlborough Road.  I saw a motorcycle

parked.  A biker was standing in the field gazing up at the mountain.  I decided to park and take a look.  There was

a rock that said, "Thank you".  People were allowed to park!  I was painting talking with the biker about his childhood

here.  He said this view was the only thing that was the same.  We talked about all kinds of things.  People were driving

by saying, "Thank you for stopping!"   "Thanks for enjoying the view!"   It was an amazing time painting a grand mountain.

The biker took off and I stayed to finish my painting.  There was so much to paint in New Hampshire.  I was most impressed

with the kindness of all the New Hampshire people I met.  They were kind.

This is where Andrea Schneidler's studio is located in Harrisville, NH.  It was once

a mill, now owned by the town, and rented to artists.

These are the Peanut Cottages along a lake in Harrisville, New Hampshire.  This is where

some of the mill workers lived, now it is owned by the town, and rented to people to stay.

I saw two of the wooden bridges while I was in the Monadnock area of New Hampshire.

I am glad to be back home.  My car is out of the shop.  Toyota did a great job replacing the

back half of the car!

  Good night.

September 17, 2025 Paintings of Stonington's Captain Gross House At Night TO See.

"Stonington Moon Rising" 8x10 oil on copper 950$ framed in gold or black with gold. Shipping

and frame are included.

I stayed home to paint this in my studio yesterday.  Festus and Miss Kitty took turns sitting

in my lap purring. I had Festus in his catio and walked with Miss Kitty in the backyard during a break.

Lady Violet was in and outside many times.  I made chicken lentil stew.

I loved a photo I took two days ago during a painting visit to Stonington.  It was that time of the

night when evening is approaching.  There is a shimmery Blue Green sky that was glowing.  A

distant street light illuminated the house and lawn enough to provide much needed warmth to

contrast it with all the cool sky.  The white house had kerosine lamps glowing.  I had not seen that

house illuminated ever!  I think that is what made the scene.  I liked the lights in the harbor.

I liked this photo of Lady Violet and Festus hanging out together.  They are friends.

Miss Kitty was laying next to me.

I have been invited to paint in New Hampshire for a few days.  An art patron and friend

needed a ride to her house so she could care for her Mom.  When I get back to Maine I will start back to

Florida.  Good night.

September 15, 2025 It was Nice Painting In Stonington, Maine Again.

"Stonington Golden Light" 6x8 oil on copper 450$ framed in gold or black with gold.

Shipping and frame are included.

I left at 1pm to drive to Stonington, Maine to paint.  I had been thinking of where to paint

for several hours.  I missed painting in Stonington.  I set up to paint at Church Street on the corner.

I had never painted in this spot before. I liked the peek a boo scene between these lovely homes.

The light was great!  I made the mistake of choosing a small panel of copper for architecture.

This made it much more difficult.  I painted till a neighbor behind where I was painting asked how

I could see in the dark.  I drove around taking photos of the evening in Stonington.  I arrived home

very late at 10pm!  I sat down and painted till 1:30am to finish this painting.  It took me too long.

I fried up three chicken tenders and made ramen and went to sleep.  Of all the places I have been this

year Stonington, Maine still seems the most magical.  I took 495 photos but ended up with 49 great

photos to paint later.  The architecture and the back drop of the islands and sea with the color and musicalness

of Stonington cannot be beat.  I think I will paint there tomorrow too.

Two boats passed by in the distance.  Angelique with the red sails came by also.

   The colors were great!

This is the scene I was painting but I cropped part of it for the painting.  The light changed as night fell.

Take me for a ride please says Festus.  Good night

Sept 14, 2025 Painting Plein Air In Belfast For Habitat For Humanity.

"Good Morning Belfast" 10x8 oil on copper  This painting will be auctioned off for Habitat

for Humanity Oct 4th in Belfast, Maine and online. Sold after the auction for 950$ thank you.

I decided to participate in the plein air and auction.  I told Robert I was headed to Belfast

to paint the iconic Red brick building on Main Street.  I headed down there, found a parking spot,

loaded up Festus's cat stroller full of painting equipment, and discovered about 15 democratic demonstrators!

I decided this was the only view for me to paint that iconic building so I headed over there despite

the demonstrators.  They were loud shouting things. There was singer singing songs that were not

political.  I settled down to paint even though I had a Red chair.  I was given a few treats by the plein

air event organizers.  I had no breakfast so I decided to eat the bag of crackers.  As soon as I opened the

bag of crackers a little White Westie dog appeared. He put his feet on my chair and hopped up and down.

I ate another cracker trying to ignore him.  Then he climbed into my paint box!  I looked down to see him

sitting inside my paint box.  He was rummaging through the box looking for crackers.  There was an apple

there but he ignored that.  Finally after ten minutes of him trying to get a cracker I decided to give him one.

There were no more crackers so he moved on.  The demonstrators were nice.  A photographer took my photo

asking if I was a Republican hostile demonstrator?  I said, "No I am just an artist trying to paint an iconic

building for Habitat For Humanity auction!  There were a few whispers about this.  I drew the drawing a few

times and turned my copper sideways for a vertical approach.  I did not know if I could accomplish painting

this difficult building.  I painted till it became dark.  I think it looks good.

Here I am in the center trying to paint while the demonstrators did their thing.  My Red

chair is super comfortable, light weight, with a shelf for holding postcards, and it has a trash

bin area and a place to hold my keys!  I bought it because it was brightly colored to protect

me from being hit by a car.  I would not call myself a political person.

I am excited about attending the reception in Belfast Oct 4th.  Now I need to decide where to paint

today!  I will be headed to New Hampshire to paint for a few days this weekend.  An art patron

and friend needed a ride there and so I volunteered.  Good night.

September 13, 2025 Painted At Schoodic in Acadia National Park At Blueberry Hill Path!

"Calm Day in Schoodic" 8x10 oil on copper 850$ framed in gold or black with gold. Shipping and frame

are included in the price.

I painted all day long at Acadia National Park.  Parking here at Blueberry Hill Path was difficult

because now there is less than 6 spots!  I waited an hour and drove around the loop twice to get

a spot.  Persistance always pays off.  So quiet there because of the very few parking places.  It

was so beautiful.  The colors really were amazing.  I battled with those pretty rocks on location and

then I took them home and messed with them for hours until they looked united and natural!

The Rose Hips were abundant and provided lots of color in contrast with the sea.

Loved the warm colors blooming on this Sumac.  I would have painted this but now there

are no parking allowed along the road way in Schoodic.

Back lit Sumac growing along the sea.

I am off to paint in Belfast.  Paint Auction for Habitat for Humanity is going on this

weekend.  I am going to try to produce a painting for them!  I don't know all the details yet.

Good night.

September 12, 2025 It IS So Much Fun To Paint Flowers At Charlotte Rhoades Garden!

"Garden Jewels" 6x8 oil on copper 450$ framed in Gold or Black with Gold. Shipping and

frame are included.

I painted more Zinnias into this small space than usual. I think the larger flowers in the back

are butterfly bush but I am not an expert. I painted in several Bees, a few Butterflies.  I tried to

paint two different Hummingbirds into the painting on location but decided they were not

natural enough to be there so I painted them out.  I do that a lot.  I will attempt Butterflies and

then if they do not look good just paint them out and try again.  Sometimes it takes me five times

to get something to look right.  That is one of the benefits of painting in oils.  I liked the texture

of the oil paint and the energy from painting on location.  There are so many colors and shapes.

I had help with the painting title.  Thanks!  I sure do hope painting purchases increase.

Here is a photo of the flowers in the Charlotte Rhoades Garden on Mount Desert Island.

Miss Kitty is such a cute cat.

She loves to explore the backyard many different times of the day supervised

Lady Violet has been going on many adventures with Robert.

Last night Lady Violet with his side kick Festus chased after a skunk!

Festus did not have any skunk smell on his coat but Lady Violet had some smell.

Luckily, we had some skunk smell removal soap ready.  All is well again.

Miss Kitty knew better to chase a skunk!  Silly dog and Festus!

Good night.  Please take a look at all my available works at the top of this page under paintings, then Maine.

Thanks.

September 8, 2025 Painting in Charlotte Rhoades Garden Today! Zinnias! Bees! Monarch!

"Happy Pollinators" 6x8 oil on copper 450$ framed in gold or black with gold. Shipping and frame are included.

I was busy earlier in the day varnishing, framing, packaging, driving to UPS for a special box,

and trimming Festus so he doesn't have hair balls!  He looks so nice without all that hair.  He always

looks put out afterwards like he has been violated!  Miss Kitty has the perfect length of hair and never

has hair balls.  I think Maine Coon cats are just prone to having hair ball issues.

I arrived at Charlotte Rhoades Park at 2pm.  The garden was bustling with

Hummingbirds and Bees. The Zinnias are on their way out but there were still many

just blooming and some in perfect shape.  I rearranged them to create a painting.

I was surprised to see the Hummingbirds out so late!

   Monarchs were everywhere!

As the sunset for a brief moment the garden was treated to a special light!

Lady Violet still sucks on the dog ball to comfort herself.  She is a beautiful young lady, 5 years old.

Festus is always doing something to make us laugh.  It had rained and it was cold.

He leaped on top of his Kitty Walk catio 5 foot in the air to get away from the wet grass.  We

both took plenty of photos of him.  He seemed very irritated by the cold weather and the

wet grass.  I turned on the heat in the house after Robert went to bed.  I looked at Festus.

He was laying on his back with his feet up in the air.  I think Festus loves a warmer climate!

Good night.

September 7, 2025 Ogunquit's Perkin Cove Plein Air Event 2025 Was Fantastic!

Here is my plein air event efforts.  It was an exciting day!

"New Beauty Along Marginal Way" 8x10 on copper.  Sold.  Thank you.

I woke up at 4am.  I drove to Perkins Cove in the dark to drop off my cat stroller and

painting equipment and framing equipment!  I drove to Ogunquit Baptist Church where a volunteer

drove to me Perkin Cove again.  There is limited parking in this area.  I checked in with the volunteers.

I had my two copper panels stamped.  I was given a turkey sandwich, bottle of water, and various snacks!

I sat down right away and ate my turkey sandwich.  It was delicious.  They offered me another one but I

thanked them and said no thanks.  I loaded up my cat stroller full of painting equipment and headed off

in the dark to Marginal Way.  There was only one other artist there because it was so early.  My plan was

to find a good spot to paint and relax for a few minutes.  The cat stroller worked out great!

I took a photo of my shadow as I got ready to hike.

Here is a view of Perking Cove from Marginal Way.  SO lovely.  I stood there in the dark and

admired this scene.  It would have made a nice painting if it stayed dark.

I sat down and admired the view.

A Pink sun started to rise!  It was so lovely.

This was my subject, a beautiful new home still being built.  They have been working for

three long years on this new home.  I loved it.  Margaret, another artist, was to the very right.

I don't know the name of the other artist.  I had a lady set up right next to me. She was wonderful

company.  She painted with a palette knife fast.

There she is in action.  I wished I knew her name.  For five hours she painted.

Many people walked along Marginal Cove to peak at our paintings.

I would ask them, "Is this your house?"  They would laugh and say no.  I would say, "That's

too bad!  I think it is stunning!  I would love to live there!"   They would say something like,

"Yes me too!"  As I was finishing the painting a lady came up and she said, "I own that house and

would like to buy your painting!"   Wow I said!  No kidding?  She wrote me a check for 950$.

I told her I would send her frame images to choose from and order the frame, frame it, and ship

it to her.  How lovely to meet the lady who owned the house!  I told her she helped me pay for my

685$ hotel bill, and Barnaby Bill's Steak for 60$!  We both laughed.

I put my wet oil painting securely in a box, loaded up the cat stroller, and headed back

to put a frame on my wet painting just for judging. I saw this artist working. She said her name

was Aphrodite.  Her painting was excellent.  I was so amazed at how she could paint.  I would

worry about ticks personally but she must not.

Two male artists had a female model and were busy painting her.

There were hundreds of people back at the parking area at Perkins Cove. I decided not to put

my wet framed oil painting on an easel because it was very windy and I knew it would fall multiple

times on the ground.  I set it on my chair and wired it so it would not move!  Several artists wet

oil paintings fell off their easel.  I saved two watercolors matted and framed in glass next to me four

different times as they fell down.  Easels don't hold paintings in the wind.  I loved seeing all the

new paintings.  I loved meeting many artists.  It was so much fun.  Everyone was having a great time.

Awards were announced.  A very large storm approached. I decided to load up my equipment and retreat!

I put my wet painting in a box and took off.  What a great time.  Thank you very much.  I am glad we all

had fun.  I am back at home.  The cats, Festus and Miss Kitty were sleeping.  Lady Violet was still in her bed.

Good to be back home again.

September 5, 2025 Painted Along Marginal Way In Ogunquit. Saw a Few Painters!

"High Tide Along Marginal Way" 6x8 oil on copper 450$ framed in gold or black with gold.

Shipping and frame are included.

I had a steak, egg, special sauce bagel sandwich from Mc Donalds for breakfast.  I have

learned to make sure I had a decent protein source before I head out to paint or I become weak

and struggle later.  I paid 25$ for parking at Perkins Cove, loaded up the cat stroller full of painting

equipment, and headed down Marginal Way.  Along my travels I saw many painters!  I stopped to

meet them.

Marge is a local artist working hard.

This artist whose name started with a C, was very nice and also local.  I admire artists

who stand to paint.  If I did not work for 5 hours or 9 hours a day painting I would try to stand

as well but I am afraid my body would break down standing for that length of time.  Also sometimes

it can be dangerous to stand and paint.  Backing up and tripping on rocks is an issue.  Feet become

damaged from long standing.  I find sitting down best for me because I can rest my forearm on my

prochade box to give me more brush control.  I can paint more realistically.  Standing can allow a

faster painting with a loose look.  Since I am 6 foot tall sitting down allows for people to comfortablly

speak to me while I am painting.  There are advantages to both methods.  Photos of painters standing

always look best.

A very nice lady took my photo while I painted.

"Small Cove Along Marginal Way" 6x8 oil on copper 450$ framed in gold or black with gold.

Shipping and frame are included.

I walked a little further and saw this special small cove along Marginal Way.  I loved the colors

and the dramatic dark rocks.  As I was finishing many surfers with their boards descended the

long stairway to enter the water.  It was great to see them do this.

I decided to have more ocean and less beach for such a small painting.

It is a grey day here in Ogunquit. It rained at 5am.  I had set my alarm early to acclimate myself

to getting up early for tomorrow's plein air event. It is supposed to rain tomorrow so the rain date

for the event is Sunday, September 7th.  We will see what happens!  Good night.

September 4, 2025 Painted Oil On Copper on Marginal Way in Ogunquit, Maine!

I ate a small danish, coffee, two orange juices, loaded up the cat stroller full of painting

equipment, paid 25$ for parking at Perkins Cove, and strolled down Marginal Way.

You should have seen my Maine Coon cat Festus's eyes when I collasped his cat stroller back

at home in Bucksport, Maine.  He had never seen his cat stroller collasped on the floor before.

I think he was disappointed he was not going for a ride and his cat stroller was leaving without

him!   The cat stroller was great for transporting all the painting equipment.

I loved this scene!  I especially loved this lady on the right walking with her friend.

I wish I could have captured them in oils but it was not to be.  I could always paint them in later.

Here is my finished painting, "Stroll Along Marginal Way" 8x10 oil on copper. 950$ framed

in gold or black with gold and includes shipping.

I had a great time painting for five hours until my stomach started to growl.  I should have

brought some nuts.  I think after five hours I needed lunch.  A real lunch not nuts.  I found a

great place right in Perkins Cove directly across the parking lot.  The view was incredible of

the draw bridge I have been hoping to paint.  I ordered a 7 ounce wood fired tenderloin steak,

Cesar salad, and baked potato, unsweetened ice tea.  The steak was the best steak I have ever

eaten.  Total price 60$.  I feel much better.  It was incredible.  I am happy.

I was really amazed at all the hikers!  I really felt bad for an elderly couple who was exhausted.

They wanted to know how far it was to Perkins Cove, told them another 1/2 mile, and saw their

disappointed faces.  There was nothing I could do for them.  I might have suggested for them to

sit on a bench and take a rest for a little while.  I hope they made it!

The views from Marginal Cove are spectacular.  I hope today is less windy.

The Ogunquit Plein Air Event at Perkins Cove is Saturday, September 6th, 2025.  Artists

will be boarding a bus from a Baptist Church, arriving at Perkins Cove early morning at 6am to

have their panels stamped.  They will be painting at Marginal Cove, the draw bridge at Perkins

Cove, and the Footbridge in Ogunquit.  There are 100 juried plein air painters!  I am very

excited to meet them.  At 1:50pm artists have their finished framed paintings on an easel in

Perkins Cove to be judged.  Then at 3 to 5pm paintings will be offered to the public for sale.

Prices will be up to the individual artist!  Boxes will be provided for the wet framed painting.

Good night!

September 2, 2025 Painting The Dory In Ogunquit and Nubble Lighthouse in York, Maine.

I ate a bagel and cream cheese, hit the road, only a mile from my hotel, paid

21 dollars for 3 hours of parking, walked 75 feet with painting equipment.

I sanded down the copper very good, dusted it off with paper towels, and drew

the dory.

The sky and the water change the fastest with a 21 foot tide. I painted this area first.

If the sky is blue the water will be blue also. I have seen a few painters paint the sky yellow but

then they still have the water blue.  Can't have blue water if the sky is yellow because the water

always reflects the sky a little darker.  Busted.

I decided to paint the dory next.  Dories or any boat is difficult to draw. I check every line.

twice or three times.

The grass was the most fun.  I can see why artists like to paint marsh grass or any grass.

"Ogunquit Dory" 8x10 oil on copper 950$ framed in your choice of gold or black with gold

frame and includes shipping.  Finished painting to see.

"Golden Hour at Nubble Lighthouse" 8x10 oil on copper 950$ framed in gold or black with gold.

Shipping and frame are included.

I had to take an hour break after the dory painting. I had 40$ pasta.  Yep that is right!

Chicken with broccoli alfredo pasta with unsweetened iced tea was 40$ with tip of course.

It was alright.  I have had better but it hit the spot.  I was very intimidated by Nubble Lighthouse.

I was worried I could not design it well, draw it right, and create poor painting so I almost walked

back to my car to leave!  But I set up my equipment. I had to draw the design three different

times before I liked it.  I worked two hours on just the lighthouse itself because it was so small in

the painting.  I finally finished the painting before I was sitting in the dark!  I met the most amazing

people as I painted. It really was fun today.  I went to the Steakhouse but it was 8:10pm and the doors

were locked.  I guessed it was closed but it was busy.  I was too tired to figure out how to get inside of

the restaurant?  I ended up with a half a tuna sub.  I had a good day. Hope your day was great as well!

I am going to eat breakfast at my hotel, the Ogunquit Milestone, highly recommend.  Then I will look at

today's paintings, tweak if necessary, photograph, put online, then go paint at Perkins Cove by the draw bridge.

Good night.

September 1, 2025 A New Stonington Roof Top View Painting TO See in Oil on Copper!

"Stonington Roof Top View From Church Street" 8x10 950$ framed in gold or black with gold.

Shipping and frame are included in the price.

I have finally finished this studio painting of Stonington, Maine. I started this painting in June.

I liked all the roofs and angels with the schooner in the distance.  I probably should have painted

it larger because painting all the white trim and windows so small made it very difficult. I first

painted it in greys to establish the values.  I remember this took me several days to do.  I put

the painting in a box to dry for a few weeks.  Then I started to work on one area at a time.  I

took time out to paint many plein air painting but would return at night to work on it.

For the last two nights I have stayed up till 2:30am working on this painting.  Finally it is finished!

There is a feeling of relief and some sort of accomplishment working on something complicated.

I am packing my rental car for my Ogunquit plein air trip.  I am very excited about painting in a

new area.  My hotel is in the center of Ogunquit.  I have written down some great locations to paint given

to me by a local artist there.  He gave me the opportunity to sit his gallery in Ogunquit while he went

on vacation to Europe. It was a very generous offer but I decided to paint plein air instead.  Robert will

watch Lady Violet the Golden Retriever, Festus the Maine Coon Cat, and Miss Kitty the once homeless kitten

living on the streets in Fort Myers, Florida.  He will do a fine job feeding them and hiking with them in the

back yard.  They are all well behaved.

I hope to post what I paint everyday for you to see.  Good night.
