May 26, 2025 Drove To Stonington, Maine on a Sunny Spring Day! Saw Dundee!

"Spring in Stonington on Dunlap Road" 8x10 oil on copper sold.  Thankyou.

I worked on this one in my studio first working in neutrals then going into the wet oil

paint with colors layering and layering!  I finished at 2:30am.  My eyes were burning.

I guess it was time to sleep!  I was nervous from an anxious day with Monet, our 11 year old

Golden Retriever. He had not eaten his breakfast so did not get his pain pill hidden in his food.

Lady Violet ate his breakfast and got the pill!  Monet spent 8 hours outside.

Here is Monet enjoying the last rays of light last night.  He did fine today.  Back to eating

like a champ.  He has us all tending to his every need.  Ted came to visit.  Monet barked

so vigorously!  He really carried on.  Ted took him outside down the steep hill into the shade

for a nice visit.  Monet caught all his tennis balls laying down.  Robert had to carry Monet

up the hill to put him back inside the house!  I am glad Robert can lift Monet.  Lady Violet had

a nice bath outside. I was bringing out buckets of warm water to rinse her.  She smells so much

better.

Since Robert was home to look after Monet, keep an eye on both cats in their catios,

and keep Lady Violet happy, I decided to drive to Stonington.  I had not been there for a while.

It was Memorial Day.

Look at who I saw in his backyard along the harbor!  Dundee, the Orange Maine Coon Cat!

He looked nice.  I petted him once.

He drank water out of the water pipe for run off.  It was so nice to see him.

The Lilacs were just beginning to bloom.  There was not a single Lupine

blooming yet!  Still it was a lovely day.  Thank you for the painting sale.

Good night.

May 19, 2025 Monhegan Laundry Painting To See!

"Thar She Blows" 6x8 oil on copper.  450$ framed in gold or black with gold. Shipping and frame

are included in the price.

I went for a drive today.  I was going to paint in Acadia.  It started to rain.  I drove around

taking a few photos.  Everything is a bright green.  I do see some reds as well but predominately

things are green!

It was drizzling when I took this photo.  I really love this meadow.  I have painted from

photos here in the Fall.

Monet, our oldest Golden Retriever, 11 years old, is doing ok.  He has a great appetite.

He wags his tail often.  He really enjoys visits from his best buddy Ted.  Ted can bring out

intense barking in Monet!  Its surprising to see Monet come alive once again when Ted visits.

During Ted's last visit I overheard him whispering in Monet's ear.  "You are the last

of the Mohicans." Ted said sadly.  He also told him how much he loved him. I do think Monet

loves all the special attention.  Ted also vaccumed out Monet's bed.  He made him a special

lunch with cut up apple, Ruff Greens, and his specially made chicken livers, broccoli, rice dish.

Ted also likes to give Monet a few tablespoons of  plain yogurt.  Its kind of touching watching

Ted fuss over Monet.  We fuss over Monet too when Ted is not here.

Miss Kitty and Festus are enjoying being home.  Lady Violet goes to the beach morning and

at night.  Good night!

May 6, 2025 A Monochromatic Laundry Painting To See! Oil on Copper Painting!

"Margaret's Laundry" 6x8 oil on copper  Sold.  Thank you.  What a nice surprise!

I saw this scene this morning where I live.  I was heading out to swim and jog.  I stopped

the car!  Wow!  I took many photos.  I was smiling as I drove off.  I was going to jog in the pool

for an hour.  I planned to paint as soon as I returned home.

I had all my painting supplies set up.  Then Festus jumped into my lap.  He decided he

needed some hugs and pets.  An hour went by and I thought,  "Goodness!  Is he going to fall

asleep in my lap?"  He must have heard my thoughts. He leaped out of my lap with the usual

drama.  I decided since the scene was so complicated, "Why not just paint it with Cobalt Blue and

Cadmium Red Light?"  I mixed the two colors with the ocassional addition of Titanium White.

I decided it was good enough to leave it like this.  I guess an art patron thought so too!  Thank you.

Good night.

May 4, 2025 There Is Hope Getting Back To Painting After a Loss of a Loved One.

"Dappled Light on Juniper Springs Waterwheel" 6x4 oil on copper 300$

includes your choice of a black with gold frame or gold frame and includes shipping.

I have been watching a series called "Everwood" on Amazon Prime.

There is a pianist who gets mad at many things and stops playing the piano.  In the

series he describes feeling nausious when he thinks of playing the piano or even sees a

piano.  I sat up in my chair and said, "yes! I felt like that too!"

Piano was his life just like painting was my life.  I could not paint after losing my Mom.

I lost two Golden Retrievers that I loved.  I was grieving very hard this last year.  I knew

if I painted I would not have my heart into my work.  I focused on remodeling a cottage in

Florida.  I could  not look at any painting.  If I saw paintings in stores I had to avert my eyes.

The thought of painting made me sick.  Too much pressure.  I could not do it.  So I did not do it.

Lately I have been painting miniature paintings at Juniper Springs.   I have not put any time limit

on creating these paintings.  I just sit down and paint until I feel like it is done.  I have been

painting very small as well to not get overwhelmed.

I will always be an artist.  I do like playing the piano also but I think I am much better at painting.

Someone told me something recently that seemed to help a great deal.  The person told me, "Losing parents

is part of life!  It is going to happen.  You just have to accept it and move on."  Yes this is so true.  I needed

a bit of tough love I guess.  Move on!  Get over it!  Yes.  They would not want you to lay down with grief and

stop everything.  No they would not!  I am moving on.  I am feeling better and even happier.  I am excited about

painting and traveling back to Maine soon.

   Good Night.

May 1, 2025 I Have Been Painting at Juniper Springs, Florida Lately.

"Juniper Springs" 6x4 oil on copper Sold.  Thanks!

"Golden Hour at Juniper Springs" 4x6 oil on copper 300$ framed in your choice of gold or black with gold.

Shipping and frame are included in the price.

I have been painting at Juniper Springs during the golden hour before sunset.  The light is great.

I have been working for about an hour or so on these miniature works.  I am always tempted to jump

into the 72 degree waters.  Next time I will swim first then paint.

News from Maine:  Lily passed away. She is with Poppy now in heaven.  Poppy and Lily were both 10.

Monet is doing as well as expected.  He is taking Ping Xiao for cancer.  He takes pain medicines.  Ted

has Monet taking Ruff Greens.  Robert says Monet still eats well, likes to carry around many tennis balls,

He wags his tail.  He climbs the stairs by himself every night to sleep with Lady Violet, his five year old Granddaughter, and

Robert too.  He doesn't walk very far as his left front paw is kind of painful.  We have had it xrayed and nothing is found.

He just has arthritis.  Lady Violet goes for long walks on the beach with Robert.  She plays with other dogs there.

Festus and Miss Kitty got into the trash can and ate some chicken bone.  They both had extreme intestinal issues

for about 2 weeks.  I had to order some medicine from Chewy.com.  I ordered special digestion food for them too.

Finally their stomachs are doing better.  Festus enjoys Ruff Greens for cats.  Miss Kitty does not like it.  I told her it would

be very good for her but she prefers to roll around in the dirt every morning instead.  She things the natural flora of dirt

is the way to go!  Festus would prefer her not to roll in the dirt but that is what he gets for picking out a lady on the streets!

We are heading back to Maine after Mother's Day.  We are looking forward to being back.  Thank you for the painting

purchases and following us.
