October 15, 2024 Sold A Painting Of Acadia National Park.

I

"Sunday Evening At Otter Cliffs" 8x10 oil on copper. Sold. Thank you.

   Painting sales have been the slowest I have seen in 20 years.  It has been slow for other

of my acquaintences as well.  Artists who sell their work for 100$ to 350$ will always see good sales

because people know they are not selling their work for a profit.  I think the painting purchases

of working artists are slow because of the election.  I hope things will get back to normal soon.

Maybe people will buy lots of paintings after a president is elected!  I am hopeful.

   This painting sold to a couple who are the best painters in America.  They

started collecting paintings a few years ago.  I am very pleased to be in their collection.  She said it

gives them great pleasure to come downstairs every morning and see all their paintings they have

collected.  Painters are very appreciative of their collection.

   Robert took this photos of us a few days ago.  I am looking forward to the abdominal cat scan

October 18th. I have to be there extremely early in the morning. I think I have to leave the house

at 4am!  I hope they discover something that can be fixed.  I am still eating very bland food.

I do not have a lot of energy.  I am spending my days being at home caring for my

golden retrievers and cats.

    I bought an older JDI mini pro 4 drone.  I have been watching videos learning how to operate the drone.

I love to paint roof tops of houses and high altitude paintings.  I am really looking forward to painting

more paintings using the drone images!  I hope to paint 14x20 and 20x26 sized paintings.  Good night.

October 10, 2024 When The Frost is on The Punkin! Painting A Snowy Farmhouse with Pumpkins.

"Frost is on the Punkin" 6x8 oil on copper 450$ framed in gold or black with gold.

Shipping and frame are included.

    Every Fall I think about James Whitcomb Riley's poem "When Frost is on The Punkin".

Here is another painting from the series I have been doing of a farm house in Bethel, Maine.

I happened upon this scene while driving to Vermont to paint.  It was magical!  It is fun to revisit

such wonderful subjects.  I went for the drama and less variety of colors to create a somber

scene. I painted the farmer standing on his porch.

When the Frost is on the Punkin

by James Whitcomb Riley

When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder's in the shock,
And you hear the kyouck and gobble of the struttin' turkey-cock,
And the clackin' of the guineys, and the cluckin' of the hens,
And the rooster's hallylooyer as he tiptoes on the fence;
O, it's then's the times a feller is a-feelin' at his best,
With the risin' sun to greet him from a night of peaceful rest,
As he leaves the house, bareheaded, and goes out to feed the stock,
When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder's in the shock.
They's something kindo' harty-like about the atmusfere
When the heat of summer's over and the coolin' fall is here—
Of course we miss the flowers, and the blossums on the trees,
And the mumble of the hummin'-birds and buzzin' of the bees;
But the air's so appetizin'; and the landscape through the haze
Of a crisp and sunny morning of the airly autumn days
Is a pictur' that no painter has the colorin' to mock—
When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder's in the shock.
The husky, rusty russel of the tossels of the corn,
And the raspin' of the tangled leaves, as golden as the morn;
The stubble in the furries—kindo' lonesome-like, but still
A-preachin' sermuns to us of the barns they growed to fill;
The strawstack in the medder, and the reaper in the shed;
The hosses in theyr stalls below—the clover over-head!—
O, it sets my hart a-clickin' like the tickin' of a clock,
When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder's in the shock!
Then your apples all is gethered, and the ones a feller keeps
Is poured around the celler-floor in red and yeller heaps;
And your cider-makin' 's over, and your wimmern-folks is through
With their mince and apple-butter, and theyr souse and saussage, too! ...
I don't know how to tell it—but ef sich a thing could be
As the Angels wantin' boardin', and they'd call around on me—
I'd want to 'commodate 'em—all the whole-indurin' flock—
When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder's in the shock.

   I started taking Claritin D 12 hour, a decongestant and allergy pill all in one.  I suppose my

breathing has improved.  I gave up aspirin for my knee pain.  I think my stomach pain has

subsided but I will still go get the stomach cat scan to make sure nothing is wrong.

   All the animals are doing fine.  Good night.

October 5, 2024 A Trip To Acadia National Park to See Fall Colors. Painted Jamie Wyeth's House On Monhegan.

"Monhegan Legacy" 8x10 oil on copper 850$ framed in gold or black with gold.

Shipping and frame are included in the price.

   I finished this painting in my studio.  I used a palette knife to build up the oil paint but

then used a sable bright brush to refine the edges.

   I decided to get out of the house, drive to Acadia National Park, to see the Fall colors.

I tried to hike on Jessup Path but could only walk about 300 feet.  That cat scan of my

abdomen can not come soon enough!

Little Hunter's Beach in Acadia.

   October can be very dark during the day.

   I think the colors are peaking early.

   Monet is doing well.

Poppy is also feeling fine still.  She was cuddling up with her Daughter Lily.

  Miss Kitty really likes her backyard time. I help Robert supervise Miss Kitty.

  Lady Violet likes hanging out with the cats or Monet.

Hope you are enjoying the Fall days!  Good night.
