I was painting a watercolor inside the trailer when I looked down to see a cat walking by.
Doc Adams was inside the trailer exploring! How did he get inside? I went to investigate to
find Miss Kitty walking outside in the grass! Had they changed places? I caught Miss Kitty.
I brought her inside the trailer. She was glad to see Doc Adams inside too. She followed him around
as he investigated. I caught Doc Adams before he had a change to claim his sleeping spot!
I put him back outside. Festus was still locked in his pen recuperating.

Earlier in the day as I walked by the pen, Miss Kitty was the 'patient' instead of Festus!
Festus had escaped. Miss Kitty took his place.

The patient, Festus, was found in the bay window relaxing. I put him carefully back into the pen.
Festus has a serious cold now two days after coming home from the vet. I think he caught the
cold while being seen at the vet. The vet is closed on Thursdays. He had such serious
intestinal problems today after he ate a big breakfast. I bought organic pumpkin at the store. I gave
him two tablespoons of the pumpkin in the can mixed with his shredded canned cat chicken.
He ate most of the pumpkin. It seemed to settle his stomach and intestines. I looked up all Festus's
medications to realize they were for minor issues not related to his back injury except for one.
None of the medications were pain medicines. I decided to stop all of the supplements and medications
for lesser problems, concentrate on getting his back better, and help him get rid of his cold. He can
do without Cosesquil, a supplement used for joints. He is a young cat! The side effects from Cosequil are
very severe. I could tell Festus had many of these effects. The antibiotics were for his mild gingvitis
caused by acid reflux caused by back pain. The antibiotics were making him very sick. The ear drops
for one possible ear infection probably would not make him sick. Ice packs on his back gave him the greatest
relief. I will continue doing these ice packs. I boiled water for hours to increase the amount of
humidity in the air, making it easier for Festus to breathe, and stopped his aggressive sneezing.
I suspect the vet just piled on the medications because he wanted to increase the bill.
I made an appointment with a different vet, we have been to last year once, and liked for March 20th.
I wrote down the name and address for the emergency vet in case his breathing worsened.

Miss Kitty provided some comic relief today. She climbed on top of the pen,
she was inside of the pen pretending to be Festus, and she ran through my
wet Gouache paint! I had to wash all four of her feet. She was not as good as
Festus. Festus lets me wash each foot without struggling. What about Doc Adams
coming inside of the house? Was he paying Festus a visit who was on his death bed?
Or was he ready to move in?
Festus is sitting on my lap and sneezed so hard he sprayed me!
My poor boy. I hope he gets better soon. Despite being sick he sits here on my lap
and purrs. Good night. Prayers for my sweet Festus. Prayers for Miss Kitty to behave herself!
Prayers for Doc Adams to find a good home.
