Festus was being a real cutie pie in his outside cat penthouse.

He stayed outside all day long. Robert checked on him once in a while. He lays in a cat
hammock or lays on the ground with his paws in the air. He is in cat nirvana!

I was packing up my painting equipment. I saw Festus with Lily's ball! He was moving
the ball around with his paw. Lily was captivated! He was entertaining the dog.

On my drive to Stonington I witnessed a white goat tangled up in electrical fencing.
He was dashing about scaring all the sheep! He would run with the fencing bouncing along.
The goat was not hurt. The herd did not know what was happening. They dashed around.
I knew where the sheep farm was located and visited them. I told them about the goat. They
were both running to help the goat as I drove away. I knew they would help the goat.

I was painting on Hendricks front yard in Stonington today. I met a lady whose husband
was once a famous artist and had passed away. She told me about his life as an artist. We
knew a few common painting friends. Her Daughter who is in her thirties is now making a go
at being an artist. I thought of a few things that might help her Daughter. Then her Daughter showed
up, shared her painting in progress and I showed her my painting in progress. She has enormous potential.
I hope she enjoys a long successful career. I kept on painting the golden house seen in this photo.
The light was horrible all day but I kept hoping it would improve.

As I was painting a large group of people gathered for an informal party. They told me
I could join in the festivities. I finished my painting and met many residents. I saw a few
past art patrons. I thanked a few people who have allowed me to paint their view. I met a wonderful
elderly lady. I asked her if she might like to see some of my finished works. She had asked me
many questions about painting. I asked her to have a seat in my chair. I sat on the granite rock
sharing each painting and telling a story. Her Daughter and Granddaughter enjoyed the paintings.
We all had a wonderful time. It was great fun enjoying painting and the changing light.

The background turned pink at one point before the sunset.

The sun finally went down.

As night set in lights came on showing a different magical setting over the harbor.

I delivered a commission painting with great success. There was a misunderstanding about
a second commission to a different family. I did not think art patron number one would consider
her family's view owned by their family. When someone buys a house, they own the land, and house, but not
the view. The neighbors own the house and the state of Maine own the ocean. The view is air. There is no
copyright on a view of a harbor. Unfortunately this family felt they owned their view. I will be lighting commission
number two painting on fire and destroying the painting. I won't paint their view again out of respect for their
thoughts. I had never ever encountered this before. Everyone in Stonington allows artists to paint their view freely.
They enjoy seeing the paintings. They have a sense of pride of their view but are generous. They realize an
artist life is a difficult choice. They seek to nurture the artists who work there. If you paint in Stonington, Maine
normally residents welcome you with open arms. They are excited to see you. It is a lovely feeling.

Here is commission number one 16x14 oil on copper. They were very satisfied with their
painting. I delivered the painting framed in an Italian handcarved black with gold lip.

Here is the second commission painting 14x20 oil on copper.
Good night!
