"Ocean Breeze" 5x7 oil on copper sold.  Thanks.

"Happy Place" 5x7 oil on copper sold. Thanks.

I finished these two commission paintings.

I was asked to paint two Florida paintings to be used as birthday gifts.

It was very fun to paint them.

I think they will both like their paintings.

I just love to do commissions.

Thank you Robert for taking these photos.

Festus, the orange Maine Coon cat is inside the stroller!

Lily, Poppy, Lady Violet, and Monet.

Festus hops right into his cat stroller.  He loves being included in outings.

He doesn't meow until he wants to go back inside.

He will often stay outside for hours!

Here is Robert showing Festus the stroller.  Festus hops right in!

Robert zips Festus up into the stroller and takes him outside.

We bought the cat stroller from Petco.

Festus sleeps inside his cat stroller sometimes.  He loves it.

Good night!

The yellow house in Stonington will always be one of my favorite spots to paint.

I love to find different compositions of this house to paint.

Festus was squeezing into his old basket!

These two!

Yes it is a good idea to close your eyes Lady Violet!

This is my favorite scene in Stonington, Maine.

I decided to paint Festus!  He was looking so sweet helping Robert

"Peaceful" 8x6 oil on copper.  Sold.  I was asked to paint this one as a commission.

Thank you!

Lady Violet and Festus are both so cute!

They are always together at night.

They have so much trust in each other.  They are geniune.

The life long cat hater, Robert, produces the cat backpack.

Festus hops right into the backpack because he loves to go outside around the yard.

All the dogs wag their tails and wait for Festus!

I think Robert loves cats now!

He hasn't taken Festus to the beach with the dogs for their walk but I have a feeling

he will!

Here is the Spring landscape right now.

It will take a while to get greens here in Maine.

I am very glad I can paint from photos and paint en plein air.

Good night.

March 14, 2021 Painting Chairs In Flower Fields To Evoke Memories and Encourage Rest.

"Bodhi" 8x6 oil on copper.  commission sold.  Thank you.

Here is a cat named Bodhi who lives in a Maine cabin in the woods on a pond.

He once escaped for 6 months and lived outside!

He was captured and is very pleased living inside once again with another cat and dog.!

My art patron wanted me to paint Bodhi in the rocking chair surrounded by lupines.

"Serenity" 8x6 oil on copper Sold.  Thank you.

"Victorian" 8x6 oil on copper 450$ framed in gold or black with gold.

Shipping and frame included.

"Rocking Chair" 8x6 oil on copper Sold.  Thanks.

I have been working on paintings of rocking chairs.

Chairs are a universal symbol.

Paintings of chairs may evoke memories of the viewer or suggest the viewer to rest.

They are very satisfying to view.

I love to paint fields of flowers but a man made object really adds to the scene.

I enjoy the challenge of trying to draw the chair correct!

Festus snatched a ramen noodle out of my bowl.

Lady Violet came over to see what he was playing with!

Festus is so creative.

Festus loves to give Lady Violet treats.

Festus has such an angelic face when he is sleeping.

Here is Festus' back foot.

This was the foot that was the most burnt by the wood stove.

It is almost healed.  He feels no pain.

Those woodstoves can be dangerous for a cat if they leap on them.

Here is my Sous Chef Festus inspecting the beautiful organic swiss chard and turnips.

He gave me such a strange look as I was tasting the cooked swiss chard.

I reassured Festus the swiss chard tasted delicious but he didn't believe me!

He actually shook his head as if it tasted bitter!

Swiss Chard sauteed in a little butter is one of my favorite things to eat!

I also poured a 1/2 a teaspoon on white wine vinegar on the finished product!

Delicious!

The snow has melted.

Robert is down by the edge of the East Penobscot Channel in our backyard with all four dogs.

We had a few days of 55 degree weather but now temperatures are back to 30!

Lily was cleaning her Mother's face.

Poppy seemed to be enjoying all the attention!

Goodnight!  Thank you for the painting purchases!  Really appreciate them all!

March 11, 2021 Painted An Old Rocking Chair. Festus and Monet are on the Mend.

"Rocking Chair" 8x6 oil on copper sold. Thank you.

I bought this old rocking chair many years ago at a tag sale.

The lady was reluctant to sell her Grandmother's rocking chair.

I told her I would be using the chair for many paintings.

She liked the thought!  She gladly sold me the chair.

She even bought a painting of the chair that year.

Here is another painting with her Grandmother's chair.

I can't help but think her Grandmother would be happy.

I was working on this painting.  Festus was looking at me from the dog bed.

The look was telling me something.  I realized I was working past Festus' bedtime!

I looked at my watch.  Yes it was getting late and Mr. Festus needed his sleep.

I had finished the painting.  I carried Festus upstairs to my room.

He likes for me to brush him and pet him before he sleeps.

I checked his burnt back feet.  All the burnt skin was gone.

I had put raw honey on his back feet earlier.  He cleaned the honey off and all the

dead skin came off too!

The last two nights Festus has fallen asleep inside of a cat camper.

Monet has been dieting without much discomfort.

Monet and Festus sat in the sun all day long.

We enjoyed Spring temperatures of 55 degrees!

What a relief.

Lily and Poppy were in and out all day long.

Lady Violet explored the backyard all morning till Robert came home.

Festus likes to pose for photos.

Lake Alamoosook is slowly melting.

Good night!

March 9, 2021 Working On A Large Stonington, Maine Painting. Festus Burnt His Foot On Woodstove.

"Monhegan Lunch" 6x8 oil on copper 450$ framed in either gold or black with gold.

Shipping and frame are included in the price.

I added a little container of butter in between the claws of the lobster.

"Coneflowers" 6x8 oil on copper 450$ framed in gold or black with gold.  Shipping included.

I have been working on this 20x26 Stonington, Maine painting these last two weeks.

I am letting the painting dry.  Then I will paint a few lobster boats in the harbor.

This is one of the busiest harbors in Maine.

Festus is recovering from jumping onto the wood burning stove when it was being used.

He burnt his back feet.  At first he pads were red.

Then the next day both feet pads were grey.  Then they cracked.

Today they look much better.  It was such an unfortunate incident.

I know Festus will never jump onto top of the wood stove again.

He never limped when he walked.  I think the pain was minimal.

I think he will be fine soon.

Festus still felt like playing!

Good night.

March 3, 2021 Monet Needs To Lose Weight. No Tumor! Stonington, Maine Painting.

"Rapture" 20x26 oil on copper 1995$ framed in gold or black with gold. Shipping included.

I decided to darken the background to add drama and depth!

Here is the painting before.  Interesting difference.

I am working on this cottage in Stonington, Maine painting.

I painted an underpainting using Cobalt Blue with Cadmium Red Light.

I wanted to lay in those very light tones so they sing.

Now I will let it dry.  Then I was paint opaque oil paint colors on top of the underpainting.

I will let some of the underpainting show through in areas.

I am pleased with the composition.  That is the nice thing about doing an underpainting.

When I work with the colors I will concentrate on the mood.

Mood is very important to me in a painting.

I took Monet to the vet yesterday!

I wanted to get Monet into the van.

I opened the door.  All of the dogs ran outside.  I put two dogs back inside.

While I was trying to get Lady Violet inside, the cat decided to run outside!

I threw all the items in my hands onto the table, ran down the stairs, while Festus

was running down the stairs.  Festus discovered it was 19 degrees!  He ran back up the stairs!

I chased Festus back up the stairs and opened the door for him.  Once back inside the house Festus

gave me a look like, "Wow it is cold out there!" For some reason I locked the door and closed it!

I realized the dogs and I were all locked outside the house in freezing temperatures!  I found the spare key and

unlocked the door.    All the dogs went inside except for Lily!

Lily was the last dog out.  Monet, Lady Violet, Poppy, Festus were inside.  I had the wrong dog out!

I called the vet to tell them we were delayed!  They gave us an extra hour to get there.

Lily decided she wanted back inside the house.  Freezing out there she said!   Monet stepped outside.

I managed to get outside!  We did it!  We drove to the vet.  A vet tech came to get Monet to see the vet.

She called to tell me Monet weighed 103 pounds.  He should be 93.  He has a little arthritis in his knees.

She could feel no tumor.  Cancerous tumors can cause tiredness in dogs.  Monet has plenty of energy.

I decided no ultrasound was necessary but a weight loss program is needed.  I will look into CB dog drops for him.

Monet is in good health.  I was glad to hear the news.  Monet has a lighter dinner at night but a regular breakfast.

I was watching game camera videos with Festus online.

He was a little afraid of the bears but loved seeing birds.

I told Festus that Maine Coon cats may be related to Bob cats.

He liked watching the cat walk across the log.

Festus enjoys being walked around the house in the cat backpack.

He doesn't meow when he is inside.  He seems to love it.

When Robert opens the backpack for him to jump out Festus stays inside for awhile

hoping for another walk about!

The dogs all come to see Festus being placed into the backpack.

The girls give Festus a few licks on the face for encouragement or comfort.

Monet and Poppy hanging out together after a long hike on the beach.

They look good for being 8 years old.

I trimmed Monet's hair over the last few days.

Monet is only good for 20 minutes of hair trimming at one time.

These two are so cute.

Lady Violet and Festus spend an hour a day wrestling, hugging, and snuggling.

Good night!
