I am home safe in Maine. The gathering of artists ended early. This was the
smart thing to do. I didn't take any photos during the Russian dinner party held for
all the artists. I will try to describe the scene. The small cabin was very rustic nestled
in the Vermont woods and difficult to find. There was so much thick mud that it was
difficult to navigate to the front door. We were all laughing hoping no one would
fall face first into the mud. We went into a small room filled with people. The lighting was
low, a circular table was surrounded with painters. On the table, I do think
I remember a nice tablecloth, a candle was lit, two large vases of flowers, platters of wonderful
appetizers, and drinks were displayed. We all stopped to admire this presentation. We found seats.
One of my painter friends, Kim, and a Russian artist started to play guitar and sing. I was offered
a drink. I chose a lime seltzer water. A large platter of beautiful smoke sardines on top of a brown square
flat rich Russian bread was offered. They were delicious. Boris, a Russian artist living in NY was able
to bring Russian foods for a local grocery store. Next a plate of white sliced pork fat on brown Russian bread
was passed around. One American artist took one, could not chew up the fat, I yelled out, "Put it in the plant!",
another artist gave me 'the look', then the artist put the fat into a cup. I said, "Yes that is much better."
We all laughed. Dinner was served. We each had a baked drumstick of chicken with wonderfully flavored
potatoes. We were all hungry. They served us cake, coconut and chocolate. Irina
let us examine and smell wonderful bag of Russian tea leaves. We all said we would love tea.
The tea was beautiful. Fruity overtones with
jasmine or some other unique flavor? I did not know. I loved it. Large oil paintings filled the perimeter of one
area of the room. They were all amazing paintings. The party was very special. I am glad to have been there
to share the experience.

Here is my painting friend James Cooke painting under a tent he brought.
He is wearing special Cabellas Trans-Alaskan Pac Boots good for -100 temperatures.

Most of the painters use the www.takeiteasel.com. This easel will not blow over in
high winds. Many New England painters use them. They are made in America.

Victor, a Russian painter, always had a big smile on his face, very courteous, and
of course talented. All of these artists were talented and a pleasure to be around.
Have a great night. Keep safe!
I hope all my friends will remain healthy. Good night.
