October 31, 2019 Long Rainy Day For the Puppies!

Today was a very windy rainy day.

The puppies didn't like being outside.

I didn't want them to sit or lay in the water.

So they had access to the house!

I was cleaning.

I turned around to see this scene!

Paper towels make wonderful toys!

Monet found another paper towel roll.

He came to me with this roll in his mouth.

I told him he was such a good boy.

Even Lily came over to see what was happening!

They tore up paper towels for about an hour.

We all ran outside to see Monet barking for his ball.

Grandfather Monet has a wonderful eccentric personality.

He barks for someone to give him his ball.

He howls for a minute or two like a coyote on special occasions.

He will lure strangers into the kitchen and show them where the french baguette is located.

He puts his foot on the bread hoping they understand he needs a piece.

He likes to growl if he is not getting attention.

In the car he likes to lay over the driver's lap with his head out of the window.

He likes being petted at the same time or he growls.

He doesn't allow anyone to touch his tail or his feet.

When Monet meets a new person, he puts his front paw up, and tries to scratch their thigh.

Monet will put his front feet on some people's shoulders, lick their face, and nibble on their neck.

We love Monet's personality.

Monet's Father, Luke, had all of these traits.

I wonder if some of the puppies might have these traits?

Patmore is on the left.

The Countess is on the right.

They were lounging around their Grandparent's beds.

Lunch for the puppies was different today.

Lady Mary, who is seen here eating out of the left bowl, has decided she is the leader.

She growled at all the puppies to stay away from her food.

She ate and growled.

All of the puppies complained but seemed to go along with her idea.

When she was full, she moved away, and allowed them to eat the rest!

I made sure there was plenty of food for all the puppies.

I always put down a second smaller bowl for Baxter and a few others.

Lady Mary, blue collar, controlling lunch while Lady Rose, red collar, Lady Edith, yellow collar,

Earl, and Countess talk about this!

Awe poor Lady Violet looked so sad.

"I don't like this rain.  I don't like Lady Mary.  I don't like wind."

"Please come pick me up early!" said Lady Violet.

I think Lady Violet will be very happy in her new home.

Tomorrow all the puppies will get their distemper shots and checkup at the Vet.

Mr. Carson seems unaffected by anything!

He continues to wash his feet many times a day.

He confided in me, "I do not want to get trench foot."

I thought he was a smart little boy.

Last night Robert counted ten puppies!

He said, "I counted ten!  How can that be?"

I asked him if he had found another puppy?

He said, "Let me count them again.  Ok.  There are nine."

We both laughed.

Lady Edith seemed to be watching me today.

"Is it true we are going on a 10 hour car ride?"

I told her I have all kinds of treats!

I promised to hold her up to the window.

Earl, (new name Jack Odin) on the right had a bath today.

He is meeting his new owners for the first time tomorrow.

He loved his bath!

I broke out a new dog toy to entertain the puppies!

They were so bored and naughty.

Rainy days are not good days to try to train a puppy to go outside.

Everyone went on strike.

Accidents were occurring all over the house!

Finally I stood out in the rain with them and then put them in their pen.

Tomorrow they will do fine.

Lady Violet with Lady Rose were sleeping for a few moments outside.

Good night.

October 30, 2019 Puppies Had Free Access To Downstairs and Fenced Area!

The puppies didn't want to go to sleep last night.

Mr. Carson was looking at himself in the mirror.

"Now that is a handsome dog!" he said.

Lady Rose has learned to dance just like her real character on Downton Abbey.

She seemed to be tap dancing.

Lady Rose thought if Monet liked her dancing, he would surrender his stick, but he was not impressed.

Grandfather Monet did let her chew on his stick when she was more submissive.

I let Monet sleep in my room last night.

He was so busy guarding the puppies at night.

He was sleep deprived.

He felt much more playful and sweet today.

Lady Edith, yellow striped collar on the left, and Baxter, aqua collar on the right were cute.

They both put their feet on my chair.

They were hoping to get picked up and held.

I held them both.

Soon more puppies wanted to be petted and held!

Monet worked on getting the puppies to be submissive to him.

Lady Rose told him off!

Grandfather Monet seems to admire Lady Rose for her dancing and sassy attitude.

Lady Edith was relaxing by my chair.

She knows about the road trip to her new hometown of Connecticut.

I have 5 gallons of spring water, many new dog toys, and different things to chew

loaded into my van.

They will have canned chicken on top of their blue buffalo puppy dried food.

I hope the trip goes well with Patmore and Lady Edith.

Lady Mary was laying in the food bowl.

Countess was watching me.

They were only in their pen to eat and drink water today.

They had access to the entire downstairs, outdoor deck, and fenced area.

I kept the doors open so they could run about.

There were no accidents.

They were so happy to explore.

The Countess and the other puppies howled in the pen.

"We want out!  We want out!"

Monet made me laugh so hard.

He did his long coyote call when the puppies were howling.

He normally only does his coyote call when an ambulance or a firetruck siren goes by.

This was a special occasion.

"Let the puppies out!"

Robert took this photo.

Grandfather Monet had climbed into my recliner to avoid the puppies.

Lily was watching.

Puppies wanted to be petted and held.

Wonderful!

This is my painting area.

I was holding Earl (new name Jack Odin).

Have a great night.

October 29, 2019 Grandfather Monet Scared Earl To Death Late Last Night!

This is a 1890 photograph I purchased on ebay.

The location is the Cape Cod area.

The photos says they are Captain Hurst and Old Bill.

They used cod dories to fish long ago.

"Captain Hurst and Old Bill" 6x8 450$ framed in black with gold or gold.  Shipping included.

Here is the painting I worked on last night while the puppies were sleeping!

It took me 12 hours to paint this one.  I worked on it for two nights!

Earl was scared out of his mind late last night when Monet gave him a fierce growl.

Earl yipped and ran all the way to the front door.

All the puppies and Lily followed Earl.

I was running after Earl too.

I picked him up.  He was still whimpering.

I sat down with him to check him over.

There were no wet areas of fur, no bite marks, or blood.

Earl was just scared.

Monet was sound asleep when Earl rushed up to him.

Earl was not submissive to Monet.  Monet decided he needed to be submissive.

Monet let out the most assertive growl ever!

Grandfather Monet did come up to Earl who was seated on my lap.

He gave him several kisses to apologize.

Monet also gave me a "I am sorry" look.

I held Earl for a while telling him what a beautiful brave boy he was.

Patmore and Earl were wrestling today.

Earl (new name Jack Odin) will be heading to Vermont to live with a male golden retriever adult

and a male bernese mountain adult dog.

He will need to deal with male dogs.

I know they will watch after Earl.

The puppies had no interest in a large water pal.

Mr. Carson didn't seem to impressed.

He still prefers the shorter water bowl to wash his feet.

Here is Mr.Carson.

They have all grown so much!

Patmore, pink collar, on the right was gracious enough to share her new bed.

Puppies piled into the new bed.

The Countess in the back had a very proud look.

They were so cute!

Patmore seems to know she will be staying here.

The Countess has her leg dangling over in the front of the bed.

Patmore is in the back.  Lady Rose is in front of the food bowl.

I love to watch the puppies run outside.

They sound like a herd of elephants.

They love to explore the house and be able to run outside.

They run back and forth.

Lily is trying not to feed them.

She growls at them and runs!

Lady Mary!

Lady Mary and the Countess look like twins!

Have a good night!

October 28, 2019 Grandfather Monet Likes Patmore's New Bed.

This is Patmore's new bed.

She and Lady Edith will share the bed in the van on the way to Connecticut and Florida.

Patmore gave the new bed many kisses.

Grandfather Monet loved Patmore's new bed.

He sat in the bed to try it out.

Lily and Grandmother Poppy were watching him.

Do you think they were giggling?

Monet makes me laugh so often.

What a silly boy!

Mr. Carson was playing with the Countess.

Mr. Carson did something like Lily often does.

He found a little piece of paper and taunted all the puppies.

"Look what I have.  I bet you wish you had this paper!"

Earl watched Mr. Carson.  "Hmmm what does he have?"

Mr. Carson decided to leap off the ramp with the paper in his mouth.

He ran around the yard, ran around the doggie house, then came out through the door.

Lady Violet, lavender flower collar on the right, thought his paper was interesting!

Earl chased Mr. Carson to get his piece of paper.

Mr. Carson was fast!

Lily was walking around with her piece of French baguette.

She decided to give many puppies a piece of the bread.

She watched them.

Earl enjoyed his bread very much.

Lady Mary was given a chunk of her bread.

She loved it.

Grandfather Monet tried to talk one of the puppies out of their bread.

I was impressed.  The puppy ate the bread and ignored Monet.

Their Mother Lily was very generous with her bread.

She is doing fine.

She loves to watch her puppies.

She doesn't mind when people come to visit them.

Lily is very proud of her puppies.

Lily has lost some of her hair on her legs.

Having puppies is stressful for Mother dogs.

She will grow back hair and recover quickly.

She has been a wonderful Mother.

Mr. Carson loves washing his feet in the water bowl.

Patmore was watching.  "Mr. Carson has the cleanest feet in town!"

Tomorrow I will give Mr. Carson a large bucket of water to see what he does!

Patmore and Baxter (Brook) will be playmates.

I will be posting updates on the puppies here.

Monet was laying on the floor.

Patmore was exploring the house.

She stepped over top of Monet's head.

He didn't seem to mind.

He loves to watch her.

We have been letting all the puppies explore the house.

They are trained to go outside for the most part.

Lady Rose, left red collar, and I can see Countess orange collar on the right.

The puppy in the front is probably Earl.

Earl is the largest puppy.

I think Baxter is the little puppy to the right.

Good night!

October 27, 2019 All The Puppies Are Spoken For. Very Pleased To Be Keeping Patmore!

Little Patmore has stolen our hearts!

We decided to keep our Patmore.

Her Grandfather Monet and Grandmother Poppy and Mother Lily are very pleased.

Robert and I are happy about the idea too.

She is special.

Robert was having fun entertaining the puppies because of rain!

He trimmed an apple tree for the puppies to have twigs with leaves!

They were busy little puppies pulling off the leaves from the branches.

It was fun to watch them in action!

Who would have thought a bunch of apple tree branches would be so much fun.

Their pen was a mess after a hour of attacking branches.

Robert played with the puppies outside while I made their pen clean!

One of our neighbors in Bucksport, came to visit the puppies, and decided on Countess!

I didn't ask her yet if I could share her photo so I cropped her head to protect her face.

Lady Edith tried really hard to win her heart.  She licked her several times on the nose.

She tried to paw at her leg while the Countess was being held.

The Countess was fast on her feet when the lady arrived.

She was waiting for the lady at the front gate!

This made an impression on our neighbor but she really fell in love with her photos online.

Our neighbor is a widower who lives in a large Colonial house with a fenced yard.

She has a two year old red cat.

She has had goldens or golden mixed dogs all her life.

She said she started to feel so much happiness while deciding to have the Countess.

She will name her Tess.

What a wonderful name and a wonderful lady.

I will be able to visit Countess/Tess often.

Mr. Carson was so funny today.

A fresh water bowl is so enticing to Mr. Carson.

Right away he runs to the bowl, puts his feet into the bowl, and splashes till the water is gone!

He floods the pen.

I have placed cardboard under the water bowl everyday.

I think a tarp might work better.

He makes us all laugh!

What a character.

When the water is gone, he will take a sip, and stand there for all to appreciate him.

Here is Robert carrying a puppy to the pen.

That was Lady Rose puppy.

It was raining hard outside.

Lily nursed the puppies in the rain so they were soaked.

Robert and I toweled dried each puppy.

We let them roam around the house.

We both kept an eye out for the puppies.

One puppy when into Poppy's bed.

Grandmother Poppy was on her hunches at the puppies level barking at her.

We both laughed.  We asked Poppy if there was someone in her bed?

Baxter (new name Brook) and Patmore are going to be neighbors.

I suspect they will see each other often to continue their play.

I bet Countess (Tess) will also join them!

Mr. Carson (new name Ruffus) decided to sleep in the food bowl with his head on the chipmunk.

They took several naps.

This was Lady Mary sleeping like an angel.

Just a few moments ago a lady called from Connecticut.

They decided to add Lady Edith to their family.

Lady Edith will have many acres to run with a special collar to keep her in the yard.

They have missed having a dog!

I will be driving Lady Edith to Connecticut.

I am driving to Florida with Patmore on Nov 6.   Connecticut is on the way.

Patmore and I will be visiting my parents in Winter Park, Florida for a few months.

We will have a dog sitter entertain Monet, Poppy, and Lily during the day while Robert works.

Robert will be with them everyday after 4pm to take them to the beach.

He has off every weekend now to spend with them.

All the golden retriever puppies are spoken for!

I am very relieved and delighted to have found such amazing homes.

I love the puppies.

Good night.

Baxter (Brook now) loves me to hold her.

October 26, 2019 Ted And Milo and Other Visitors Come to See The Puppies.

Katie and Ziva, both service dogs, came with their owners to visit Baxter their puppy.

I learned Katie and Ziva and Baxter (new name Brook) have been doing therapy for

disabled children and also therapy at the hospital where Bruce gets his infusion treatments.

The nurse takes Katie around to all the patients.

Ziva, who is now 11 years old and has chronic ear infections, keeps Bruce company during

his infusions while Katie does the rounds.

Brook will be accompanying Katie with the nurse to greet people.

She will be trained just like Katie and Ziva.

I will get an opportunity to visit and share photos of Baxter (Brook).

Here is Earl.  He is a big boy.

Milo, a golden retriever I rescued this last December, took to the vet, had all his blood work done,

had him treated for Lyme disease, and gifted to our friend Ted, came to visit us!

It is so nice to see how happy Ted is with Milo.

He took him to the groomers.  He was wearing hunter orange.

They just hiked 5 miles on Sears Island.

Milo enjoyed seeing the puppies through the picket fence.

Milo and the puppies were wagging their tails.

We found rope toys and trimmed branches with leaves in the puppies fence area.

They were all playing tug of war.

Earl, purple collar on the left, Lady Rose, Baxter, Lady Violet, and Patmore were the puppies.

Mr. Carson, black collar on the left,Lady Mary, center, and Patmore on the right.

They were all chewing on the sticks.

They worked hard to tear all the leaves off.

Monet wanted to have a chat with the puppies but they were too busy with their sticks.

He told them how much he loved them.

He told them they knew how to dig, jump, wrestle, run fast, and chew on anything.

He said they can come to visit anytime.

They have another week or so to learn more things.

Monet still needs to teach them how to climb stairs.

Lady Edith, yellow striped collar in front, and Lady Rose were chewing on sticks.

"These sticks taste pretty good but boy that sauted liver was fabulous!"

"Yeah, I hope we have liver again with our dried food.  Delicious!"

Lady Rose said, "I bet I will eat lobster every night at my new house."

Lady Edith, replied, "I guess I am staying here.  I have not met my new owners yet."

Lady Rose said, "Someone will come and find you enchanting!"

Patmore, pink collar, was green collar, loved the rope toy!

She is our little cinnamon girl with sugar frosty eyebrows.

Patmore looks cute with her big paws and black nose.

Earl, purple collar, on the left, is the biggest puppy in weight.

Robert thinks they are almost ten pounds but it is hard to guess.

Earl (new name Jack) knows how to get our attention.

In his loudest voice he cries, "Ike Ike Ike Ike!"

I come running to see what he needs.

Sometimes he likes to be petted, talked to, fresh water because of Mr. Carson, or he is hungry,

or he needs toys because he is bored, or he wants to go outside.

I saw Poppy charge up to Earl in the pen and bark at him.

Grandmother Poppy told him his voice hurts her ears.

I was surprised to see Earl stop crying.

Lady Violet said, "I can not wait till I am at home with my new family!"

"I need peace and quiet!"

I told Earl his new family will spoil him.

He was pleased.

I talked with a few people today about purchasing a puppy.

I am being  honest about the cost of raising a golden retriever puppy for the first year.

They eat a lot of puppy dry food and wet food because they grow so much.

The shots do not cost very much.  They do need a bed and many dog toys.

Good night.

October 25, 2019 Grandfather Monet Plays Hard With The Puppies!

Grandfather Monet outdid himself today!

He ran numerous circles around the doggie house as fast as he could go!

The puppies watched with curiosity.

The Grandparents put on a good display.

Loved Monet's clown face!

There was a few pieces of hair flying!

Lily wanted her chin scratched.

The Grandparents were on duty!

The puppies were very interested.

I was surprised how careful they were around the puppies.

Lady Rose was practicing zooming!

Puppies would come to me when they wanted to be held.

This is Patmore.

She loves being held.

She is such a character.

Patmore, Mr. Carson, Earl, and Baxter.

Mr. Carson continues to wash his feet in the water bowl after he eats.

I have seen Earl a few times splashing in the water bowl.

The girls don't seem interested in splashing just drinking.

Patmore is in the front on the left.

Mr. Carson has his foot on Earl's head.

They are busy puppies for most of the day.

We spend about 4-5 hours outside playing at a time.

I loved watching these ladies together.

Lady Edith, Lady Violet, and the Countess, out for a hike.

"Let's go dress shopping!"

"Let's do lunch first!"

Lady Violet said, "At my age, one must ration one's excitement!"

The Countess absolutely loves Chester the Jester.

She runs, jumps, and tackles him.

This is so cute!

I have been too busy to paint!

The puppies need my attention right now.

If I am not playing or feeding them, then I am cleaning and cooking for them!

Good night!

October 24, 2019 Lily Decided to Lay Down An Nurse All Nine Puppies!

The puppies had a picnic tonight!

I was surprised to see Lily lay down to nurse the puppies.

They were not biting her.

It was a nice Autumn evening.

The weather was great.

We still have a lot of leaves on the trees.

The little red puppy is Patmore with a pink collar.

Grandmother Poppy was showing the Countess how to dig under a board.

I put many more boards and logs over all the holes.

I think they have successfully learned to dig.

This was the most beautiful image of the day with Lily feeding her big puppies!

Earl on the right was giving his Mother a few kisses.

I love Patmore's strong little body!

Here is little Baxter!

She puts her feet on my leg to be lifted up and held a few times a day.

She loves to breath hard once she is being held.  She really enjoys being held.

Lily does the same thing!

Lily loves to jump into my lap still to this day to be held and breathes deeply.

Grandmother Poppy showed the puppies how to climb.

They were watching.

Later I saw a few of them, about five different puppies, try this!

Monet found his unicorn covered in mud!

He whimpered.

Robert took all the toys to be washed.

Baxter climbed up high!

My main camera, Canon Rebel T6, has fallen now 4 times.

The puppies pull on the camera strap, camera falls, and now the lens is broke.

I still have my tiny fujifilm XP.

I will try to order another small lens for my Canon.

Just a small glitch in photo taking today!

Lady Edith, yellow collar, was interested in the Countess's big stick!

Their new collars are working out great!

Have a good night.

Three are available:  Females:  Lady Edith, Countess, and Patmore

October 23, 2019 Monet Came To My Bedroom Door And Barked. What Could He Want?

Grandfather Monet always closes his eyes when he sees a camera because of a possible flash!

When he was 8 weeks old my camera flash went off and spooked him.

Ever since then he does this!

This morning Monet came to my bedroom door.

He barked once.

I said, "Monet is that you?"

He barked once again.

I said, "Are the puppies ok?"

He barked.

Normally Monet barks many barks.

He never barks just once.

I opened the door.

He wanted me to follow him.

Downstairs I saw Poppy and Lily sniffing a puddle.

Monet walked over to a little poop on the floor and he barked again.

I looked over to find Lady Rose out of the pen.

She was running all over the house!

Monet started to bark many times when Lady Rose came into the room.

I knew what he thought I should do!

"Please put Lady Rose back in the pen so I can nap," said Monet.

I put her back in the pen and cleaned up the messes.

He went over to his bed, laid down, and sighed.

The puppies wanted to go outside!

I lifted each puppy out of the pen.

My back is killing me now!

I tell them, "Let's go outside!"

They run out!

Monet, Poppy, and Lily also help guide them outside.

This is magical!

Well, except it was raining but the training must continue rain or shine!

Grandfather Monet wanted to play chipmunk with the Countess.

He put the chipmunk on her back many times hoping she would play.

She decided to lay still.

Patmore came to play.  Monet gave her a love nip.

Grandfather Monet decided Patmore needed grooming.

She laid quietly with wide eyes while he cleaned her.

Lady Mary, Lady Edith, in the middle, and Lady Violet,(new velvet purple collar) came to

visit.

Monet likes to bark at them.

He is letting them know, "You had better not touch my tail!"

Grandfather Monet notices his favorite blue unicorn has gotten wet from the rain.

He licks the unicorn.

He looks over to me, "My unicorn is all wet.  I don't like that.  Please help."

He is a special dog.

Monet standing in the rain with Patmore.

Patmore is being submissive.  Very good girl.

It was time to go inside.  I opened the front door, yelled, "Everybody inside! Inside!"

All the dogs ran inside the house.

I closed the door and place each puppy into the pen.

I always count to make sure all 9 puppies are inside!

While they were outside with the big dogs, I went inside, cleaned out their pen, put fresh

water, and two bowls of dry food with stew on the top inside the pen.

They are eager to eat and drink water.

Of course I need to lift each puppy into the pen.

I know they weigh at least 10 pounds-15 pounds each!

We normally stay outside for two hours but today was a short 30 minutes.

I turned on Chester the Jester, who moves and sings "That's Amore".

I was surprised to see the Countess, orange collar, run and jump onto Chester!

She was hitting him with her front feet, biting him on his foot and nose!

She was beating up Chester!

Lady Violet(on the right with new purple velvet collar on) watched.

Baxter was watching, her head is in the bottom of the photo.

Earl was on the left admiring the action!

Chester the Jester was great fun for a half an hour.

I gave them all little raw hide bones.

Countess, orange collar, on the left had a raw hide bone.

Patmore on her right was sharing the bone.

Mr. Carson, in the middle had a raw hide bone.

Lady Edith, on the left, with a yellow velvet collar on, grabbed one end of the bone.

Patmore, on the right grabbed the other end of the bone!

Poor Mr. Carson dragged them around the pen for a few minutes trying to get them to get off

his bone!

Mr. Carson started to growl just like Grandfather Monet taught him!

He growled loud and fierce!

"Ladies!  Ladies!  This is just ridiculous!  There are more raw hide bones!  Leave me alone!"

The ladies held on to the bone as if their lives depended on this!

I find myself laughing many times during the day into the late evening.

They are hilarious!

The puppies were outgrowing their collars.

The velvet collars I made last night did not hold up in the rain.

The puppies did look precious wearing velvet.

Today I found 8 different colors of puppy collars!

Lady Edith, yellow collar, on the left, looks stunning.

Mr. Carson, black collar, on the right gave me a "Woof!" to say "Thank you!"

Lady Rose, wearing red collar, as she once did.

I could not find a orange collar for the Countess so she is still wearing her orange velvet.

Earl, wearing a purple/pinkish collar on the left.

Lady Mary is wearing a bright blue collar on the right.

Lady Violet has a lavender floral collar on the right.

Patmore, once green, then tan collar, is now wearing a pink collar!

So confusing.  I know.

Baxter is such a cutie.

Lady Edith, yellow collar, is available.

The Countess, orange collar, available.

Lady Edith is on the left, and Patmore is on the right.  Both are available.

There are only three females left.

They are not even seven weeks old yet!

They will be ready to go to new homes Nov 3.

1500$ each puppy, AKC registered Ltd papers, vet checked, first shots.

Father, Sampson, 11 years old, from New Hampshire.

Has heart, eye, hip clearances.

Here is Sampson.

He looks great for 11!

Good night.

October 22, 2019 Found A Dream Home For Golden Retriever Puppy Lady Rose.

Robert was happy to hear I found a wonderful home for Lady Rose.

We had thought of keeping Lady Rose.

A lobster man called about a puppy.

He told me their family with children lived on a big lake nearby our house.

He would take her to work on his lobster boat.

He was installing AC to keep her cool in his cabin during the Summer.

I thought, "Wow!  That sounds like a dream home!"

I told him yes he could have Lady Rose.

He told me about all his many golden retrievers.

He sounded like a very responsible dog owner.

I know Lady Rose will love all the kids.

Twice today people texted me they wanted head shots of the available puppies.

I directed them to my blog but it seems they want closer photos of their faces.

Here is Patmore The Cook.  She was once a green collar and now has a tan collar.

She is a lean, soft hair, red, smart golden retriever.

I can tell she wants to do the right things.

When I call them inside, Patmore, comes running, and throws me a sassy look.

"I am running!  I can do it!  Look at me!"   She is so cute!

She has a little body like her Grandmother Poppy.

Patmore may also look like her Father Sampson.

Lady Edith, yellow collar, is available.

She is such a busy little girl.

She is dainty and chunky.

I love her little face.

Here is Lady Edith!

Sweet!

The Countess is gregarious!

I do hold the Countess a lot!

There were many tug of wars throughout the day!

The puppies watched their grandparents play tug of war yesterday.

They were inspired.

Patmore, tan collar, is on the right.

Mr. Carson is in the middle.

Lady Violet is on the left.

Lady Rose joined in the back right.

They turned around in circles.

Digging class number two went well today.

The class was full.

Lady Violet, on right standing on the board.

Inside doggy house puppy is Lady Rose.

Lady Mary is on her stomach digging in the middle.

Patmore, tan collar, is to her left with her head resting on little Baxter.

I think the adult dogs have never had more fun!

Monet is acting like a young puppy.

Lily is so mellow when people visit the puppies.

Poppy loves to hang out with them.

Here is Lady Rose in the food bowl.

Robert was laughing last night.

I asked him what was so funny?

He said Grandmother Poppy was in the puppy pen trying to eat their food.

A puppy was inside the food bowl preventing Grandmother Poppy from eating.

Here is Earl laying on a plush velour blue mat playing with Lady Violet.

Lady Mary met her forever family today.

They have 6 children and live in Deer Isle.

The children range from 9-18.

They own the lobster pound in Stonington.

I suspect Lady Mary might be a lobster eating dog too!

They loved her.

Mr. Carson really could use a bath!

He is a great digger!

A truck, full of rotten sardines used by lobster man for their traps, drove by our house.

All the dogs raised their heads in the air to sniff the sardines.

They were so cute!

I had a good laugh.

Lady Rose was on the ground, pinned down by the Countess, orange collar, when little

Baxter was walking by and seized the opportunity to bite Lady Rose on the head!

There were no whimpers so it was a superficial bite.

They are not biting hard any more.

Just love nips!

Good night.

October 21, 2019 Monet Showed Puppies How To Dig, Chew on Sticks, Rocks, Run Like Crazy!

Grandfather Monet went all out today!

He ran like crazy around the small white picket fence while all the puppies watched.

I wonder what Grandmother Poppy and Lily thought about this?

How silly!

I looked over at the puppies.

They watched him carefully.

Digging class was very exciting.

Baxter, Lady Mary, and Mr. Carson were quick learners!

Grandfather Monet was sooo proud!

He dug a huge hole for them.

Lady Mary received an A+ for digging today!

She was covered in dirt.

I was expecting a lady at 12pm to visit the puppies.

She canceled because her husband was not thrilled about getting a puppy.

Last night a lady living in Virginia thought of buying Lady Mary and the Countess.

I let her know Lady Mary was available after the lady's visit was canceled.

She didn't want to commit until she talked to her husband.

She asked me to give her an hour.

The first lady called me to let me know her husband was going to let them buy Lady Mary!

I told her I thought Lady Mary might be sold. I was suppose to wait to hear from her.

I looked and it was already 45 minutes.

I listened to the first lady talk about Lady Mary and decided she should have her.

She was excited.  Lady Mary will live in Deer Isle.

They have a 7 month old Lab puppy who will be company to Lady Mary.

They own a lobster pound.  I am sure Lady Mary will eat lobster.

She will also have a wonderful time on a lobster boat I bet!

They will give her a good home.

Here is a beautiful photo of Lady Mary.

Grandfather Monet held a stick chewing class promptly at 11:00am.

Two puppies were in attendance.

Mr. Carson went to the head of the class.

Patmore didn't like sticks.

I think Grandfather Monet and Mr. Carson look alike!

Monet decided to take Mr. Carson under his wing.

He showed him his favorite thing to do!

Grandfather Monet dug and dug until he found a big rock.

He took the rock over to an area, laid down, and showed Mr. Carson how he bites the rock.

I could hear his teeth on the rock.

Mr. Carson was fascinated!  He didn't try rock biting.

Patmore the Cook, originally wore a green collar until it was stolen by Baxter, now wears a tan collar.

She hopes someone will give her a nice home too.

She says she would be a good girl.

Lady Edith, yellow collar, available, attending Monet's digging class.

She decided to leave after dirt hit her in the face.

She decided to attend Grandmother Poppy's etiquette class instead.

She said, "I am not a digger!"

The Countess was chewing on a stick.

The lady who missed out on Lady Mary is considering the Countess.

She would be a wonderful golden retriever owner.

I hope she does get the Countess.

I love the Countess.

She is adorable.

Lady Edith, yellow collar, would love a good home too.

She is a sweet heart.

Lady Edith sharing a stick with Lady Violet.

These two look similar!

Bruce, our friend who lives in Stockton Springs with his wife, two golden retrievers and his

grandson, who is graduating from high school stopped by today!

Bruce will be giving Baxter to his grandson for his graduation present!

Bruce's two golden retrievers, Ziva, who is a 9 year old service dog, can tell when Bruce's

oxygen level gets too low.  Ziva will bring the oxygen hose to him when he needs oxygen.

Ziva, the service dog has trained Katie, their one year old golden retriever to do the same thing.

I think Baxter will be well cared for by this family.

Both Ziva and Katie are expertly trained and impeccably clean!

What an exciting day!

Lady Edith on the left and Lady Violet on the right.

Here are the puppies who need homes:  Lady Edith, yellow collar, Patmore the Cook, tan collar (once green),

and the Countess, orange collar.

Have a good night!

October 20, 2019 Lady Violet Will Be Living In Massachusetts, On A Lake In Maine, In A Boat!

This was Lady Violet this morning in the little doggie house contemplating her wonderful life!

A few minutes after taking this photo, a man called, and inquired about a red golden!

I sent them a few photos of Lady Violet.

They loved her.

They will be picking her up on November 3.

She will be living in Massachusetts.

They have a lake house in Pemaquid, Maine too.

I can just picture Lady Violet in a boat racing around the lake!

Her red ears will be flapping in the wind.

She will be loved by a couple who are lucky enough to work at home.

I hope someday they send me photos of her in a boat.

Lady Violet in the house.

She is beautiful.

I told Grandfather Monet about the new life Lady Violet will have.

He said, "What?  I have never been on a boat!  I want to go there too!"

I told him only Lady Violet can go.

I mentioned to Monet that he does get to go to the beach once or twice a day and he gets

a french baguette as a treat for lunch.

Robert says Lady Rose can stay with us.

I think she would be a wonderful addition.

I am going to be the crazy golden retriever lady officially.

Mr. Carson was splashing hard in the clean water bowl again today!

He loves the water bowl.

Patmore was just gorgeous today holding her head up to see Robert racking leaves.

She had such a smart look!

Mr. Carson's new name will be Rufus!

Pronounced "Rooofus"

Rufus has to do with having red hair.

He seemed to love this stick!

Lady Mary stole everyone's hearts today.

She has a wider face with an thick undercoating coming in similar to Grandfather Monet

and her Mother Lily.

Lady Edith on left was playing tug of war with Earl, purple collar, (Jack will be his new name).

Lady Mary was ready for a nap.  She is in the front.

Lady Violet enjoying snuggling with Patmore.

Lady Violet is on the right.

I love that face!

Lady Edith, yellow collar on left, the Countess, orange collar on right.

Little Baxter, aqua collar, walking by on the left.

I think that is Lady Rose on back right.

They are enjoying playing so much!

Yesterday morning the puppies were howling.

Monet put his head up in the air and howled like a wolf for a minute.

He did this howling five times.

When Monet howled the puppies stopped howling to listen.

I have only heard Monet howl like a wolf when a firetruck's siren or an ambulance is going by

our house!

When the wreaths across American parade goes by Monet will howl then too.

He puts his feet on our porch banister and lifts his head up high.

Then he howls as long as he can just like the sirens sound.

Poppy and Lily always seem proud of Monet when he howls like a wolf.

This made me laugh at loud today.

Mr. Carson was in the water bowl many times today!

I have a thick piece of cardboard under the water bowl to keep things drier.

I wonder if Mr. Carson just likes clean feet?

Good night.

October 19, 2019 Mr. Carson, Golden Retriever Puppy, Met His New Family!

Mr. Carson was found playing in the water bowl today!

He had an exciting day.

Mr. Carson met his forever family.

He loved them and of course they loved him!

I made sure they knew about his water bowl habits.

I think he will live a long life and be very happy with them.

He will be living in Old Town.

One person is home during the day while the other person works at night.

They have an older son who really loved Mr. Carson.

Their last golden retriever lived to be 15 years old.

I am feeling very thankful Mr. Carson will have a good home when he is 8 weeks old.

Here is Mr. Carson walking fast with his buddy Earl.

We spent most of the day out in the yard.

Mr. Monet was teaching Earl to be submissive to his elders.

Earl did a great job being submissive.

They are very fun to watch.

The puppies are doing well coming in and out of the house.

They cry if I forget to give them a treat for coming inside.

They like a little bit of turkey for coming inside and doing their business outside.

They are smart enough to learn this system already!

Last night they were crying.

They had food, water, played outside.

What was it?  They wanted their turkey treat!

I had a bowl of ground cooked turkey.

I was popping a tiny bit of turkey into each puppy's mouth when all of a sudden,

I felt like a priest giving communion.

I laughed as I popped a few more pieces of turkey into their mouths.

"Body of Christ!"

They had holy communion last night.

When Poppy is outside alone with the puppies she guards them!

If a person is walking on the other side of the street Poppy barks!

She is really good with the dogs.  Kind to them.

Mr. Carson was running in the foreground and Countess was behind him on his right.

Lady Mary and Baxter playing tug of war with a piece of cardboard/tape.

Baxter won!

Lady Mary was the first puppy inside tonight.

I praised her and she wagged her tail!

She knew she was a good girl.

Mr. Carson dreaming about walking the trails with his new family.

Good night.

October 18, 2019 Grandfather Monet Teaching Golden Retriever Puppies to Respect The Tail!

Grandfather Monet decided to lay down so the puppies could visit!

One brave puppy, Lady Violet, came over to visit.

Monet is very gentle with the puppies.

Things were going fine until a puppy started to pull and bite on Monet's tail!

We all know to never touch Monet's tail!

He just doesn't like his tail or feet being touched.

He will growl.

He never bites.

Lady Mary had Monet by his tail!

Monet growled, jumped up, and turned around to see who was playing with his tail!

He just growled at her again to let go.

Then Lady Mary sat there starring at Monet.

She learned to respect Monet's tail.

Baxter was playing with leaves until she discovered her tail.

Then she chased her tail!

Countess and Earl were wrestling in the corner.

Countess had him pinned to the ground.

There was no biting.

They have learned to be gentle with each other.

Countess scored one!

Cute little Earl didn't seem to mind.

Little Baxter pinned Earl down next.

I don't think Earl even struggled.

He is so laid back!

Mr. Carson and all the puppies did well going outside and inside today!

I was very proud of them.

So far their pen has been clean all day long!

They went outside four times.

They are eating a lot of Blue Buffalo puppy dry food with a small amount of chicken and veggies on top.

Lady Rose had a blocked tear duct but it is almost all healed up.

I am glad I took her to the vet to discover it would heal on it's own.

She wanted out of the pen yesterday.

She would howl when I placed her back into the pen.

She spent all day out with the adults!

Earl of Grantham tried to escape.

Robert caught him squeezing out of the fence.

He was going to walk all the way to Vermont where his new home with be.

We told him his new owners will be driving him Nov 3.

The puppies are only 6 weeks old.

We had visitors today who just wanted to enjoy the puppies.

Countess won a few hearts today.

The Countess loves being held.

The Countess will be a beautiful gold when she grows up, the color of her ears.

They are in their pen playing.

They had a great day.

Good night.

October 17, 2019 Training Golden Retriever Puppies To Come Outside! Mr. Carson and Water Bowl...

Last night at 1:00am I heard splashing noises again!

I ran to see who was splashing to find Mr. Carson.

He had an audience who was getting splashed!

I am surprised at how fascinated all the puppies are with Mr. Carson and the water bowl.

He seems to wait till I place a fresh bowl of water in the pen.

Then he puts his feet into the bowl and splashes.

He does this until all of the water is out of the bowl!

He makes me laugh!

I thought he might do this once or twice but he is a regular!

What a personality Mr. Carson has already!

I was noticing how athletic Patmore looks like her Grandmother Poppy.

Some golden retrievers are bred for agility or hunting like Poppy.

Other golden retrievers are bred for show.  I think Monet is in that category.

The puppy's father, Sampson, looked athletic instead of the show dog look.

In the ring, reds are not favored as they once were a long time ago.

I think this is Patmore the Cook again.

My camera battery went dead this afternoon!

I only took a few photos.

I had to pry open one puppy's mouth to get another puppy's ear out of her mouth.

I worked all day luring puppies outside or back inside to their pen.

I am trying to teach them the word, "Come!"

I was successful with about 7 of them after the third trip outside today.

Lady Mary will not come to me.

She has her own ideas of what she would like to do.

She ran the opposite direction when I let her sniff a bowl of stew.

All the other puppies followed the bowl while I told them,  "Come, puppy, puppy, puppy!"

I did this using a high pitched voice to get their attention.

This worked like a charm well except for Lady Mary.

Lady Mary was the first to discover a stick!

She is as cute as can be!

I will try harder with Lady Mary.

They were running today as fast as their legs would carry them.

I sat down in the white chair and watched them all run around.

The Countess was posing for me.

Here is the Countess running!

Mr. Carson was stacking himself to show off!

"I am a handsome devil aren't I?"

"The girls are going to love me," he said.

Earl was airborne!

He thinks he can fly.

Baxter, aqua collar, on the left was chasing Lady Violet.

The puppies love to run circles around the doggie house.

Sometimes they collide.

Good news today is:  No puppies pooped in the pen today!

They have a natural interest in doing their business outside if they are given the opportunity!

They are learning fast.

Good night.

Here is a photo Robert took of us yesterday.

Good night.

October 16, 2019 Robert Took Great Photos Of Puppies And I.

This is my favorite part of the day!

Thank you Robert for taking these photos of us.

The little white picket fence area in our front yard is a great place for the puppies and I.

Grandfather Monet and Grandmother Poppy decided to play tug of war with a tiny black teddy bear!

A few little puppies were watching them!

I was holding Baxter, aqua collar.

Two different families are coming to visit Sunday and Monday!

I put a 255$ add in the Bangor Newspaper.

I think I should have a sign for our yard.

15,000 people pass by our house each day!

The puppies are 1500$ each.

Credit Cards and cash are accepted.

AKC ltd registration papers, vaccinations, and vet checked!

They will be ready to go to new homes Nov 3.

People are making deposits now to hold their favorite.

I allow people to select their own puppies.

Can you imagine?  Most breeders do not let people pick out their own puppy now!

Their cost if 3500$-4500$ each.

Mr. Carson was flooding the place again!

I smile every time I hear splashing in the bowl.

Mr. Carson has his feet in the bowl!

He always has an audience.

Earl of Grantham was on the front right.

The Countess was on the front left.

Patmore was next to Mr. Carson.

They seem very impressed.

Grandmother Poppy was playing.

Lady Red was showing off her beautiful legs.

She has a blocked tear duct on the right eye.

The vet said it would probably go away on it's own.

She suggested hot compresses.

These things just happen.

I think she is beautiful.

I was surprised to find Baxter with a piece of french baguette!

I give Monet, Poppy, and Lily each a piece of french baguette in the morning.

Golden retrievers do need grains.

For a while they thought it was best to be 'grain free' but now have discovered

it causes heart disease in dogs.

Lily had jumped into the pen with her baguette in her mouth.

She accidentally dropped it when she exited their pen!

This little girl did not want to give the baguette up but she did.

Good night!

October 15, 2019 The Puppies Had Fun With A Basket, Chester, Puppy House!

It was 12:30am in the morning.

The puppies didn't want to go to sleep!

I put this basket into their pen.

I placed Earl of Grantham inside the basket.

Patmore the Cook was on the right.

Lady Mary front left.

The Countess, behind Lady Mary on left.

Back right is Lady Violet.

I think back left is Lady Rose.

They had a great time with the basket.

This afternoon I put the puppies into our front yard white picket fenced area.

Robert built this little doggie house many years ago.

The puppies practiced running today!

The Countess, orange collar was having a blast!

The ran around, wrestled, and started to get sleepy!

I carried each one inside the house.

I had cleaned up their Downton Abbey pen.

Fresh water and Blue buffalo dried puppy food awaited them!

They fell asleep after eating and drinking.

I smiled when I saw little Baxter on the right, aqua collar, biting lady Violet's tail!

I decided to go to Rockport to shop for a birthday present for Robert.

It felt great to get out of the house!

I found him a nice pair of taupe pants.

He liked them.

Happy Birthday Robert.

I came home to find Robert, Poppy, Monet, Lily, and all 9 pups outside!

Now that is cute!

Lily was showing the puppies the doggie house!

Here is a photo from late last night.

Chester the Jester was not a big hit at all when the music was playing.

Earl's back hair was standing straight up!

When the song was over, Chester, became a toy!

Good night!

October 14, 2019 Mr. Carson Played in the Water Bowl!

Around twelve am in the morning I heard water splashing!

Hmm what could that be?

Mr. Carson was splashing his feet in the water bowl!

Water was going everywhere!

Puppies standing near by also were watered.

They watched him.

"What is Mr. Carson doing now?"

"I don't think Earl of Grantham will appreciate the flooding of Downton Abbey."

This opinion was voiced by Lady Violet.

"Oh I am sure Mr. Carson is just mopping the floor," commented Earl.

Baxter, aqua collar, in the back wanted to try this!

Mr. Carson on her right demonstrated.

The Countess, orange, on the front left watched.

Lady Edith, yellow collar, to her right also watched.

"Well isn't that just ridiculous?  I wanted a drink of water," said Lady Edith.

"Now it is a bowl of water for us to wash our feet," said the Countess.

Baxter took over splashing in the bowl.

Here is Mr. Carson watching her.

"Well I guess I need my own bowl of water!"

"I have very clean feet now!"

When I replaced the water in the bowl there was Mr. Carson!

"Is there a larger bowl of water available?"

Mr. Carson was very cute splashing in the bowl every few hours today.

I don't think this fascination with the water bowl will leave Mr. Carson.

There always seems to be a puppy who is doing cute things!

Today it was Mr. Carson.

"I hope I live by a beach or lake," he said.

Patmore the Cook, on the left looks similar to Lady Edith on the right.

Patmore the Cook is going to be red when she gets older.

She said,"I hope I will have lighter eyebrows like my Greatgrandfather Luke.

Here is the puppy's Great grandfather Luke.

Luke died at 11 years old from a tick born illness called anaplasmosis in 2014.

We miss our friend Luke.  He was famous here in the area.

He had a personality larger than life.

Lady Rose was inside the white bowl.

Baxter leaped onto Lady Rose.

Lady Rose was biting the Countess on the neck.

This went on for a long time!

They are learning to be more gentle.

Mr. Carson is lower left.

Good night!

October 13, 2019 The Golden Retriever Puppies Are Growing Fast! The Big Bowl.

Lady Mary reminds me so much of her Mother Lily.

I was using this large porcelain bowl for their dried dog food.

Lady Mary thought it made a comfortable lounging area!

The minute she saw me watching her she started to put on a show just like Lily would do!

She was so funny!

She bit Earl's ear as he was walking by!

They are not biting very hard anymore.

She had found a tiny piece of paper to hold in her mouth.

This was so cute.

Lady Rose decided she wanted to be in the photo with Lady Mary.

Lady Mary didn't seem to like this.

She wanted all the cameras attention.

Baxter decided she wanted her photo taken.

Funny how Lady Mary decided to make funny faces to draw more attention to herself!

Earl of Grantham could not stop laughing.

"Yes!  That is my Lady Mary!  She loves attention!"

Mr. Carson was sound asleep among many teddy bears dreaming of eating liver pate.

Lady Violet was sound asleep in the bowl later after Lady Mary left.

She said, "Comfort is the most important thing in the world!"

Patmore the Cook had a funny look on her face.

I wonder what she was thinking?

The Countess answered the question, "I know why Patmore the Cook has a funny look on her face.

She has been imbibing in the cooking sherry again!"

Lady Mary said, "She is not the only one imbibing in the cooking sherry! Ha!"

Good night!

Oct 12, 2019 Golden Retriever Puppies Are Having A Ball!

Here is Patmore the Cook, tan collar now since her green collar disappeared.

Robert says Patmore the Cook looks like her Grandmother Poppy when she was young.

I found a photo of Poppy's Mother and Poppy nursing.

This would be the puppy's Greatgrandmother.

Poppy had a very round little head as a puppy.

She also had very muscular little puppy legs.

Lady Violet, white collar, was using a orange toy for a pillow.

Earl on top was wrestling with Mr. Carson on the bottom.

There were cute little growls.

Baxter was on the bottom, lady Violet, on left, and Lady Rose was the one talking.

"I wonder if we will be going outside today," asked Lady Rose.

Lady Violet said, "I am not going out there again unless I have a wool sweater!"

Earl, darker puppy on left, was wrestling with Lady Rose.

"Winner gets the last piece of blueberry pie!"

"Let's just split the slice of pie!"

The Countess, orange collar, mumbled, "Oh no! I ate the last slice of blueberry pie!"

She has a very pretty face and body.

Well they all do!

The puppies slept all day long!

Lady Mary, blue collar, is the puppy on her back dreaming.

Grandmother Poppy likes to look in on the puppies.

Her latest game is to whimper till the puppies come over to her.

Then she barks until they scatter!

I have no idea what kind of game this could be?

I wish Poppy could talk.

Here is Lady Rose.

I think Lady Rose is the pack leader.

She looks so strong and healthy.

Good night.

October 11, 2019 The Golden Retriever Puppies Went Outside! Dory Painting Finished!

"Serene"  20x26 oil on copper.

1750$ includes the frame of your choice and shipping in USA.

I brought the puppies outside today!

There is a small white picket fence yard for them complete with a puppy house.

Lady Mary posed next to the puppy house.

She didn't seem too afraid.

Monet was so happy to see the puppies outside!

Earl of Grantham said hello to Grandmother Poppy.

Poppy was so afraid the puppies might bite her.

I thought her fear was unwarranted and put her inside the house.

Mr. Carson was stuck in the white picket fence twice.

I managed to get him out!

They were only outside for 5 or 10 minutes.

One of the puppies started to shiver.

Mr. Carson was trying to run away.

I was worried about an eagle that frequently takes fat squirrels from our yard.

Poppy had the fear of being bitten.

All and all it was a good first outing.

Here is the little puppy house Robert built for the puppies.

It was a good day.

Ads have been put in the Uncle Henry and Craigs List.

The puppies will each be 1500$.

They will be vaccinated and vet checked.

They should be ready for their new homes Nov 4.

One boy and 7 females are available.

AKC registration ltd papers will be given with each puppy.

Father is Sampson from NH.

He has his OFA, CERF, and heart clearances.

He is 11 years old and dark red.

Monet is Lily, 4 years old, light gold.

Here is my favorite photo of Lily.

Good night.

October 10, 2019 Golden Retriever Puppies are 36 Days Old. Poppy Is Showing Them How TO Behave.

Earl of Grantham was full of energy after dinner!

"What is happening?"

Lady Violet, white collar on left, was chewing on a teddy bear with Patmore The Cook, green collar.

The toys help keep them busy in a productive manor.

They have a mouth full of teeth now!

They love to play bad dog with each other.

The victim lets out a scream that sends us all running to the rescue!

By the time Monet, Poppy, Lily, and I get to the pen, the puppies are all starring at us!

They look innocent!

I can tell who the victim is by the wet ear!

The victim usually looks like they need a hug too!

The victim is usually sweet little Baxter.

"They pick on me because I am the cutest," she says.

For the last few days when a puppy has been attacked by a ruffian, all the dogs run and

bark at them loud.

They all stop what they are doing and come to see Mom, Grandfather, and Grandmother!

This distracts them from their naughty behavior.

This play fighting with each other is important for their development.

They need to learn how to protect themselves.

The funny thing is Poppy has started to go into the pen with intentions of teaching them manners.

They lays down and acts sweet.

They come around her.

As soon as a puppy bites her Poppy gets mad.

She stands up and barks loudly telling them, "No biting!"

She barks a few times really telling them off good.

Lily does not get alarmed.

In fact Lily looks proud or even "Yeah, you tell them Mom!"

Poppy stays with the puppies as long as she can tolerate them all the while scolding.

Then Poppy jumps out very proud of herself.

She goes to Lily to receive a lick from Lily and an acknowledgement from Monet.

She seems to be smiling!

Patmore the Cook, tan collar on left, Lady Violet, white collar, Lady Mary, blue collar right,

and Lady Rose looked a little startled after Grandmother Poppy left.

"I think Grandmother Poppy is scary.  She use to lay with us and clean us.

Now she barks at us and scares us!  I wonder why?" thought Lady Violet.

Lady Mary answered, "She doesn't like it when you bite her on the leg!"

"I didn't bite her on the leg did I?  Oh Yeah I did bite her good.  My teeth itch!"

Patmore the Cook said, "I bit her a few times.  It is fun."

Lady Mary replied, "I miss spending long hours with Grandmother Poppy."

Patmore the Cook said, "Next time I see Grandmother Poppy I will be good."

"I will not bite her."

"Yeah we will see about that!" said Lady Violet.

The puppies are so busy!

For a few minutes today I contemplated putting Lady Rose in time out.

She is a passionate girl.

She just loves to be top dog.

Mr. Carson and Baxter are her victims.

They are sweet and have no interest in being a top dog.

Here is Mr. Carson.

"Do I still have two ears?  I can not feel my right ear!"

Lady Mary said, "I am going to buy a horse and a lasso."

"I will get on my horse and use my lasso to catch Lady Rose!"

"Maybe I will lasso Lady Edith too!"

Lady Violet likes to put her feet in the water bowl.

"Oh Lady Mary!  Stop your whining!  What a crazy idea about buying a horse!"

"Lady Rose is just Lady Rose!  What would we do without her?  I like her spunk!"

A few days ago I started to introduce a little Blue Buffalo puppy formula dry food to their

Pedigree dry food.

Blue Buffalo has better quality ingredients.

They are all ready more active.

Look at them enjoying the box!

Poor Mr. Carson tripped and fell on his back to the right.

Luckily none of the others noticed.

"Oh my goodness," Mr. Carson said to himself.

"I am an embarrassment to myself!"

"I hope I didn't mess up my butler uniform!"

Good night.

October 9, 2019 Five Week Old Golden Retriever Puppies Celebrate! Toys! Donut Painting Fiasco!

The puppies are five weeks old today!

We celebrated with new toys for everyone!

They ate dinner, their pen was cleaned, then the toys were introduced.

Mr. Carson, in the foreground, was fascinated with a red ball!

The Countess, yellow collar, was interested in the blue monkey!

Mr. Carson was hopping up and down.

Then he charged the ball!

These planet dog red large balls are Poppy's favorite toy.

They are large enough to be safe for the puppies.

The Countess said, "This is the best day ever!"

Lady Mary, blue collar, decided she liked the little chipmunk.

They were very interested!

Baxter, aqua collar lower left, was inspecting the log filled with chipmunks.

Earlier this afternoon a box with openings was introduced.

Lady Violet was the first to explore the doorway.

I could tell how thrilled she was to enter and exit!

"Wow!  I just didn't expect to see a fun house in Downton Abbey!"

Lady Mary on right was enjoying the chipmunk.

The Countess, orange collar lower left was sharing a teddy bear with the Earl of Grantham.

Mr. Carson, lower left, decided to nibble on this orange toy.

The Countess still liked the monkey.

Lady Rose and Patmore the Cook were wrestling.

They are sound asleep again!

Dunkin Donuts only had three white sugar donuts available.

I placed them on different plates to take a few photos.

I was going to paint them.

I just wanted to decide what the best background and position was best.

I liked this best.

I went to give the puppies fresh water.

I came back to paint the donuts.

First I noticed there was only one donut.

Poppy had some powdered sugar on her muzzle.

There was a large pile of powdered sugar all over the floor.

Poppy looked over to see Monet and Lily making sad noises.

They didn't get any donuts!

I had to give Monet and Lily half of the donut each!

This is the look Poppy gave me when I asked her if she ate a few donuts?

I just laughed.

I won't be painting any donuts today.

Good night!

October 8, 2019 Downton Abbey Golden Retrievers are 34 Days Old. New Toy!

This is Earl of Grantham.

He seemed to be saying, "Hello!"

Grandfather Monet is feeling so pleased with a lot of new plushie dog toys and a bullie stick.

He has them gathered around him still...savoring the moment!

He cleans each toy.

Those puppies were getting too much attention and Monet was feeling a little low.

He is suppose to be the center of attention..he thinks.

He is grateful for the toys and may share a few with Poppy and Lily later.

On the right Monet had a lot of these new toys in his mouth.

It appears Monet was trying to show the puppies what they were missing!

The treadmill on the right with a quilt on it is also doubling as a nighttime bed

for Monet!

Yes Monet sleeps there at night to keep the puppies safe.

Lily and Poppy sleep upstairs in Robert's room.

I think this is cute of Monet for keeping an eye on the puppies.

Lady Rose was the first to discover a hedgehog plush toy!

"I like to nurse on the hedgehog's nose."

Lady Violet put both her hands in the air!

"Hey gang!  Let's play!"

Mr. Carson was in deep conversation with Lady Rose on the right, grey collar.

"I will not tell anyone you sneaked out last night but you must promise to be good!"

"Oh Mr. Carson, I am always good," Lady Rose replied.

"Lady Rose it is dangerous for a young lady to be out late at night!  There are all kinds

of animals!  Wolves!  Bears!" Mr. Carson argued.

"A bear can't catch me Mr. Carson!"

Patmore the Cook was being tackled by Lady Rose.

"I saw you leave with those jazz band men in the limousine last night," yelled Patmore The Cook.

"Did you really?" giggled Lady Rose.

"I should have stayed out all night!  I didn't know everyone saw me leave!"

"I danced all night to the latest tunes!"

"I may escape again tonight!"

Baxter was having a great time with the hedgehog!

"Who would want to leave Downton Abbey when there is this great toy?"

"I think I will steal it and put it in my room!"

Every puppy was having a great time today.

It is difficult getting all 9 puppies in one photo!

Lily is being a wonderful Mom!

She still nurses the puppies a few short times a day.

Good night.

October 7, 2019 Puppies are 33 Days Old. Sparing Partners.

Chewy bones are given out after a meal.

They are interested in them for a short time.

It is fun to watch them protecting their chewy bone.

In the background, on left is Mr. Carson with Lady Rose on the right.

Lady Rose once had a red collar and lost it.

Now Lady Rose has a dark grey collar.

The Countess, on the right would like to chew.

Puppy on the left says, "No way!"

I didn't hear any puppies being bit hard today.

They have learned to bit softly.

Lady Rose was nibbling on Mr. Carson's ear.

"Let go of my ear you bully!"

Everyone is sparing!

There is plenty of chewy bones for every puppy.

Patmore the Cook, once had a green collar and lost it, now has a tan collar.

She thinks Baxter stole her collar but has no evidence!

Patmore the Cook, tan collar on left, loves a chewy.

Lady Edith, yellow collar on the right, also had a chewy!

Puppy above them is Lady Rose, dark grey collar that almost looks blue.

Mr. Carson, on the left was getting too sleepy to chew on his bone.

Lady Edith, on the right wanted his bone but settled on a toy.

Monet had all the puppy toys for a few hours but gave them back.

Lady Mary, blue collar, was a very good girl today.

She always poses for me.

Lady Mary looks so much like her Grandfather Monet when he was 8 weeks old.

This is a photo of Monet as a puppy.

Monet was almost white with a tad bit of gold on his ears.

Here is Lady Edith today.

Earl of Grantham enjoyed playing with little Baxter today.

They took turns nibbling on each other without inflicting pain!

Earl, purple collar on left, was really twisting his head as he was biting Baxter, aqua collar.

Mr. Carson, black collar on the right, was satisfied with his chewy!

So much fun!

Good night.

October 6, 2019 Downton Abbey Golden Retriever Puppies are 32 Days! Lady Mary Biting Ears.

Cute Lady Mary bit Lady Edith's ear today!

I was right there holding a puppy when Lady Edith screamed.

I could see Lady Mary twisting her head side to side with her mouth onLady Edith's ear.

I tried to help Lady Edith.

She had a good grip on her ear.

Mean while Lady Edith was crying.

I do not think Lady Edith had ever felt pain before this incident!

I held Lady Edith and rubbed her little ear.

She looked upset.

Soon she was over the incident!

"Lady Mary is always causing everyone pain!  Pain!"

I don't think it is true.

The Countess, orange collar, was dramatizing the incident between Lady Mary and Lady Edith to Lady Rose.

"Oh golly!  I think we all need to go dress shopping!  Shopping is the answer to violence," said Lady Rose.

Lady Mary had a mischievous look.

She bit a few puppies today.

Just wait till one of them returns the bite!

The Countess was nibbling on Earl of Grantham's foot.

"Just don't bite too hard," he asked.

Mr. Carson was bit on his ear!

"Yeow!  Help!  She's got me!  I am in for it!"

I think the aggressor was Lady Edith, yellow collar!

The Countess came to his rescue!

Mr. Carson was very unhappy with Lady Edith for two minutes.

He walked around Downton Abbey complaining.

Earl of Grantham tried to look all grown up.

He said, "No one is going to bite me!  I won't have it!"

They are so much fun to watch.

Their hair is covering up their collars.

I can't tell who these two are!

Cute!

Mr. Carson, black collar on right, decided to put his feet in the food bowl.

Earl, on the left waited till he removed his feet to eat!

"Do you mind removing your feet Mr. Carson?"

"You don't have your own bowl Earl?  Very sorry!  My apologies please!  The biting has me on edge!"

"Quite alright my boy!"

Robert brought freebee newspapers to the house!

We are very low on newspapers.

I ordered 50 pounds of newsprint for 80$.

We have another month to go!

This should solve the problem!

Thank you Sue and Emily for your fellowship today.

I am glad you could help hold the puppies.

Dinner was a welcome change!

"Stonington Maine Street View" 6x8 oil on copper sold.  Thanks.

Rest in peace Chrystal, one of my best art patrons.

I am very grateful for your generosity.

You will be missed by many people.

October 5,2019 Downton Abbey Golden Retrievers are 31 days old! Puppies and I.

Thank you Robert for taking these photos.

Here is Lady Rose.

Mr. Carson and the Countess was on my lap.

Mr. Carson was full and sleepy.

Lady Mary!

I had dainty Baxter in my arms.

Lily loves her puppies just as much as we do!

I think that was Patmore the Cook who was getting a kiss.

Both Poppy and Lily were watching!

Earl of Grantham!

I think Grandfather Monet on the left wanted the toy!

We are all really enjoying the puppies.

Good night.

October 4, 2014 Downton Abbey Golden Retriever Litter is 30 days old! Puppies Bit Grandmother.

"Country Dance" 14x20 oil on copper  Sold.  Thank you.

This is fresh off my easel tonight!

As I was finishing Grandmother Poppy let out a loud yip and bark and leaped out of the pen!

She was bitten on the leg by a puppy.

She was not harmed but I bet it smarted.

The puppies have teeth and are learning how to use them.

It takes a couple of days before they each bite each other, feel pain, and call a truce.

I felt the power of their mighty jaws last night when I was holding a rawhide bone for one.

It must feel really good to bite something when little sharp teeth are breaking through gums.

They are little angels.

Many times a day I socialize with them after I clean out their pen.

They love me.

I was watching Poppy clean up the puppies after their dinner tonight.

Lady Rose was under her head.

She is independent.

She took off her collar a few times.

I can tell this puppy is Lady Rose anyway.

They all enjoy a visit from Poppy so much.

I love their expressions.

This made me laugh out loud.

Lady Rose broke her reverie when she spotted me!

That was a funny look!

"Who is there?"

Patmore the cook was nibbling on Poppy's leg innocently enough!

Earl of Grantham was biting the Countess foot!

Grandmother Poppy cleaning each puppy who are covered in goat's milk!

The Countess, orange collar, looks so happy on her back with her feet up.

Earl, purple collar, has his feet up too.

I love little Countess.

She is the one who wants me to choose her to hold every time.

I hold each puppy for 5 minutes.

Then I choose a different puppy.

Mr. Carson made me smile.

He had the pull just like this for a few minutes.

I was checking on them after they had their lunch.

I found some of them looking at me.

They took my breath away.

They are so beautiful.

The other puppies were behind me in a puppy pile asleep.

Good night.

October 3, 2019 Downton Abbey Golden Retriever Puppies Day 29! Dry Food.

Here is Lady Edith after having a bowl of warm goat milk with dried puppy food.
She was so full.
Towards the end of the feeding frenzy Earl of Grantham decided to sit in the middle of the turkey platter!
"That was delicious!"
After every meal, there are four a day, the puppies play.
I saw a puppy toss the black bear up in the air.
Baxter took a lap around the pen as fast as she could go!
They play with the toys!  Here is the Countess.
Lily enjoys watching Grandmother Poppy clean the puppies.
They absolutely love their Grandmother!
I love to see their tails wagging.
She is holding court!
Today I noticed the puppies licking Grandmother's face!
They were returning the love.
The puppies take a two or more hour nap after eating, playing, and socializing.
The are ready for another meal when they wake up!
I lay down many newspapers throughout the day to keep their pen dry and clean!
The fresh papers seems to stimulate them to mess them up again!
It is a never ending thing with the newspapers.
I am working on a new 14x20 laundry painting.
Good night.

October 2, 2019 Downton Abbey Golden Retriever Pups Are 4 Weeks Old. Rawhide Bones.

Poppy was babysitting the puppies tonight after a swim at the beach.

Baxter was curled up by her leg.

Puppies were surrounding her.

She looked so happy.

They are so cute together.

The Countess, yellow collar, was laying on her tail.

Mr. Carson was enjoying his first bite of a raw hide bone with sweet potato.

I was proud of Grandfather Monet self control and not taking his bone away!

He did enjoy watching him.

Lady Rose and Lady Mary thought chewing on rawhide was fun!

Mr. Carson on the left joined the ladies.

"What a fascinating way to spend the day!"

Lily still enjoys feeding the puppies.

She will growl a little if one of them uses their teeth!

If things get too rough she jumps out of their pen to safety!

Lily decided to nurse the puppies and steal a chewy bone at the same time!

All golden Moms do this!

I think Baxter was watching her Mother chew on the bone.

Lady Violet was looking cute on the lower left.

Here is Lady Violet carrying a bone.

Here is Earl.

He wanted everyone to see his nails and bottom teeth!

The Countess was taking a nap.

I can't believe how thick their fun is growing!

Here is Baxter, aqua collar, on left and Lady Edith, yellow collar on the right.

They are big girls now!

They had their dry food crunchy this morning instead of softened.

They still love their goat's milk.

Good night!

October 1, 2019 Day 27 of Downton Abbey Golden Retriever Litter! They Are Playing!

It is wonderful to see the puppies playing!

They run and tackle each other.

They try to bite an ear or neck.

They play king of the pumpkin!

They are fairly quiet.

I might hear a little growl or a few little barks.

I don't hear crying or howling.

They are happy puppies.

They hold their tails up high like Lily and Monet do.

Lady Edith, yellow collar on right, was king of the pumpkin.

Baxter, aqua collar on left, told her that was fine.

Lady Rose was looking rather smug.

"I am going to just sleep and eat all day long!"

Lady Violet found herself alone in the basket.

"Solitude is a gift!"

Lady Edith, yellow collar, in the back was yawning as Earl, purple collar was about to

ambush her!

Lady Mary, blue collar in front, was playing with the pumpkin with Lady Rose

and Patmore the cook.

Earl said, "That was fun knocking over Lady Edith while she was yawning!"

"Heh Heh Heh!  Who will be next?"

I painted a few watercolors today 5x7.

It is fun creating different moods.

Good night!
