May 31, 2017 Painting With Gamblin's Torrit Grey Was Fun.

"Greys" 6x8 oil on copper 375$ framed in black with gold, silver, or gold.  Shipped.

I have many tubes accumulated over the years of Torrit Grey from purchasing Gamblin Oil Paints.

They send me a free tube of Torrit Grey everytime I buy their paint.

I decided to use this Torrit Grey to paint an under painting.

I liked it so much I decided to leave it.  I used a mixture of Cobalt Blue and Cadmium

Red Light for the darkest dark.  I may have learned a few things about painting water.

"Winter Park Gold" 6x8 oil on copper.  Sold this morning.  Thank you!

I am very grateful for this painting sale.

I visited a little farm in Bernard, Maine yesterday.  The old goat is getting older.

I scratched his head.  The miniature horse came for attention.  There were a few

escaped chickens.  The rooster was trying to get his hens back inside the fence.

Here is a view of Cadillac Mountain from Cable Crossing Road on Mount Desert Island.

Good night.

May 30, 2017 Dreamed I Was Invited To Lunch With President Trump. Painted Crab Apple Tree.

"Crab Apple Tree" 6x8 oil on copper 375$ framed in gold or black with gold.  Shipped.

I had the strangest dream last night.

In my dream, the FBI called to invite me to lunch with President Trump.

They said a limo would pick me up in front of my house at 12pm.

I was suppose to be a spy.

President Trump wanted to eat at Morrison's Cafeteria.

There was a delay for President Trump in the limo.

I was so hungry, I told him to take his time, I was going to eat!

It was crowded inside Morrison's Cafeteria.  All I could think of was food.

I ordered the trout, macaroni and cheese, green beans, and many

side dishes.  I filled up two trays.  Secret service helped me to a table.

I went back three times to get more food.  I didn't see President Trump

anywhere.  I was so happy with all the food.  I just kept eating.

I stumbled upon President Trump having lunch by himself.

He said,  "There you are!"   It was time to head home.

I have no idea what this dream was about.  Maybe I was really hungry.

I do miss Morrison's Cafeteria.  Great food.

"Hungry Crow" 5x4 oil on copper.  Sold off my website today.  Thank you!

It was a nice surprise coming home to find this sale.  I will buy more food to eat.

Poppy was flirting with Luke at the beach.  This irritated Monet, her husband.

He ran up to her and bumped her with his nose.  It didn't work.  Shameful Poppy!

Luke loved all the attention. He was prancing around like a young pup again.

Ted his owner was laughing.  He wants Luke and Poppy to have a litter of puppies.

The problem could be the Bravecto pill I gave Poppy to kill ticks for three months.

I gave her the Bravecto in April.  I will check with the vet about Bravecto being harmful to pups.

I drove to Bernard on Mount Desert Island today.  I took 500 photos of blossoming trees

and house and dories!  Good night.

May 29, 2017 Found A Bear Skin In Abandoned Home.

I was photographing blooming trees yesterday.  I was on my way to Jonesport, Maine.

I thought this house looked abandoned.  These homes are everywhere in Maine.

Maine tax collectors wait 2 1/2 years for the owner of the house to pay their real estate tax.

Then the tax collectors take possession of the house only after they have tried to resolve the matter

with the owners.  To take possession of a house costs the state money.  They will hire someone

to mow the lawn, make sure the house it boarded up, and other things.  They rarely sell

the house to the public.  The home sits for years until it falls down.

The back door of the home was gone.  This was the kitchen.

The interior of the home had no interesting woodwork.

There was a trunk with magazines laying on the floor.

It is interesting looking at the objects left behind.

Sometimes I find it hard to recognize what I see.

I liked the woodwork of the headboard.  I saw something furry by the headboard.

I knew it was a animal fur.  Then I saw the paw.  It looked like a small bear skin.

There were no bones.

Well that was interesting.  You never know what you will find in an abandoned house.

I varnished paintings, fixed one painting, and cleaned all my gamsol bottles.

Good night.

May 28, 2017 Revisited Franklin, Maine Abandoned House. Bath Tub Fell To First Floor.

I drove to Sullivan, Franklin, Columbia Falls, and Cherryfield, taking photos.

These Spring sunny days in Maine are not common.  Good idea to venture out and explore.

I do need sunny Spring day photos to paint during the winter.

I have painted this home before two years ago.

Today the house looked in worse condition.  The backdoor was open.

There are no trespassing signs.  The neighbor across the street welcomed me back.

She asked if I was going to paint the house again.  I was welcome to park my car

at her house.  I crossed the street to the old home.

This is the neighbor's view of the abandoned home.  It was a beautiful house owned by

an eccentric lady.  Her children wanted nothing to do with the home once she passed.

The house has sat empty for many years.

The back door of this house is wide open.  Through this doorway you can view

most of the first floor.  The bath tub to the left has fallen recently from the second floor.

In the top of this photo you can see the second floor into the bathroom.

A side window is open revealing the pallor.  The banister looks nice.

I wonder how the red drapes and red carpet once looked?

The second floor bedroom has fallen into the pallor.

A cot is now laying in the pallor.

   The stove.

Another first floor window open reveals a room behind the parlor.

The floor has fallen into the basement.

Here is the second floor bathroom now visible from the first floor kitchen.

The shower curtain still hangs.  The bath tub has fallen.

Birds fly in and out of this house.

The roof needed to be repaired.

Holes in the roof were created by people firing guns for fun.

That was an interesting find.

I explored several abandoned homes along my car ride today.

I found a dead bear in one house.

Yes you read that right!  A dead bear!

Here is the house with the dead bear inside.  I will share photos tomorrow.

Good night!

May 27, 2017 Exploring A Beautiful Abandoned Maine House.

This was once a beautiful Maine home.  The home is located on a roaring brook.

You can hear the sounds of rushing water.  There is a large amount a land surrounding the home.

The back door of the house was gone.

Here is the view to the parlor.

Vintage wallpaper everywhere.

What a unique tiled fireplace.

View of the stairway.

The staircase was stable but the rail was gone.

Here was a large back room on the second floor.  I saw an old erector set and

old lawn chair.

Old skies.

I had a music box just like this one.  It played music when I opened the box.

I feel a tick climbing on me.  I just found one in my hair.  I had better take a hot

shower.  Hope you enjoyed this abandoned house!  What fun.

Back to painting...Good night.

May 26, 2017 Pleased With This New Dory Painting.

"Time Passages" 14x20 oil on copper 950$ framed in your choice of gold or black with gold frame shipped.

Today I finished this painting.  I was careful painting the water.

I am pleased with this painting.  I enjoy painting the dories.

I wish dories lined every shore in Maine.

"Teddy's Home" 6x8 oil on copper.  Commission finished.

I thought this painting was finished.  I decided to add more sunlight and smoke!

   Here was the painting before.

I was walking Monet, Lily, and Poppy today at Sandy Point Beach.  I discovered a tiny

nest in the apple tree.  This would make a nice painting.

  Good night.

May 25, 2017 Fishing For Crappie With Four Golden Retrievers.

I went fishing early this morning with Ted, Luke, Lily, Monet, and Poppy.

I couldn't leave my three dogs at home.  They need these fun experiences.

Ted had breakfast sandwiches ready for all of us including dogs!

We went to the pond to fish.

All the golden retrievers were fascinated with fishing.

They barked, splashed into the water once the lure was cast, swam after the lures.

Lily was the most 'hands on' with the fishing.

She watched the bobber and decided she could help retrieve them!

She caught one bobber while I was trying to get Poppy's foot out of fishing line.

I had the hook in between my fingers so Lily couldn't get hurt.

Ted had to cut my fishing line because the knot was too large.

Poppy and Monet knew swimming after the lure was not a good idea.

Lily took care of the lure.

Fishing was a big hit.

Ted decided to change lures.  He was putting on the bobber when the hook/lure stuck

into Lily's hairy tail.  Lily tried to pull away but the hook kept her still.  She started to

squeal.  Then her Mom Poppy went crazy bumping my leg with her nose.  "Help Lily!

Help Lily"  Ted didn't know Lily's tail was hooked.  He was concentrating on the bobber.

I told Ted, "The hook is in Lily's tail!"   He grabbed her tail.  This made Lily squeal

louder.  Poppy bumped me harder.  I helped get the hook out of her hair.  Ted left

some of Lily's hair on the lure's hook, cast the lure, and waited for a fish.

Monet instigated figure eights.  They all raced around barking.

Luke stayed by Ted waiting for a fish.

Ted caught a small blue gill, gave the fish to Luke, who let the fish go.

We didn't catch any other fish.  We had a great time.

I came home soak and wet from the dog's shaking themselves each time they exited the pond.

I am glad I brought the dogs fishing.

Good night.

May 24, 2017 Working On Two Dory Painting At The Golden Hour. Met Bl

Here is what's on my easel today!   I will work on the water tonight when all is quiet.

It is a 14x20 oil on copper.  It is a nice challenge to capture the shape.

Dory paintings are so meditative.

Sandy Beach in Stockton Springs, Maine is a great place to find Golden Retrievers.

Today we met Ginger, a two year old vivacious Golden.

Ginger brought a tennis ball.  They all had a blast retrieving the tennis ball.

Black flies are not great in number by salt water.  Temperatures..70's.  Perfect!

Luke came to visit yesterday.  Ted and Luke are taking us fishing at Unity Pond

tomorrow morning.  He knows how to fish for Crappie.

The plan is to catch as many fish as possible, fillet them, and fill up the frig!

Good night.

May 22, 2017 Painted A White Dory With Gleaming Sunlight on Water.

"Rockin The Boat" 14 x 20 oil on copper 950$ framed in gold or black with gold. Shipped.

I decided to paint a dory.  I loved the dramatic water, light, and shape of the dory.

I had a lot of fun painting the water.

Monet sat in my leather recliner while I painted.  We were doing fine sitting together

until Monet started to bark.  Lily was antagonizing Monet.  Monet was barking at Lily.

My chair was shaking!  I told Monet he was messing up my painting.

He leaped out of the chair.  He had to play with Lily.

I took the dogs to the Sandy Point Beach this morning.

Lily and Poppy sneaked up on a seagull!

The seagull was sitting on the rock.

The seagull flew away.  (on right).

Lily was taking a dip in a creek where an old mill once was located.

I have a request for baby goat painting from Tamsworth, New Hampshire's Remick Farm Museum.

I will paint a few baby goats.  Show them the painting via email.  If a sale is made 40% of the

proceeds will still go to Wet Paint Tamsworth 2017!  Thank you for the opportunity.

Now to paint those goats.  Good night.

May 20, 2017 Painted Beautiful Homes In Pemaquid, Maine.

"Pemaquid Beauty" 6x8 oil on copper 375$  Framed in gold.  Shipped.

I went to Saltwater Artist's Gallery in Pemaquid, Maine to drop off 20 paintings.

I drove all around Pemaquid enjoying the views.

I found an beautiful home along the way.

An apple tree, white and purple lilacs, dandelions, white flowers were growing.

I painted for several hours.  I didn't see a soul.

Then two people on four wheelers came into the drive way.

They smiled, waved, passed by me, and disappeared into the woods.

The sky was a bright blue.

I decided to paint the sky a softer color to create a better mood.

"Redonnet Mill Road" 6x8 oil on copper 375$ framed in gold or black with gold.  Shipped.

This was a pretty scene with the bridge over a stream, apple tree in bloom, and the gleaming

white cape cod home.  I didn't know if I could paint the whole scene in a 6x8 space!

I enlarged the house.

I think it looks best this way.

Robert said he liked them both.

I am wiped out tonight!

Five hours of driving, five hours of painting, and one hour framing will do it.

This is the scene I painted today.

Pretty house at Pemaquid Point.  I should have painted this house!

Good night.

May 18, 2017 Over Coming Fear Of Painting Large Plein Air.

"Bold and Beautiful" 20x26 oil on copper.  Just a little more work needed.

I was worried about painting larger plein air paintings.

Then I just said to myself, "Scrape it off if you don't like it."

One benefit of painting larger on location is authenticity.

Another benefit is creating an emotional painting.

These two important qualities far out way any refinement created in the studio.

I am proud of myself today.  Over coming fears are important for growth.

"Blossoming Pear Tree" 5x7 oil on copper 350$ framed in gold.  Shipped.

There are a few things I did to prepare myself.

I did this small plein air study of the same scene.

In the last two days the ornamental pear tree has bloomed more pink.

I will take the larger painting back to the location for some tweaking.

I changed the sky and water in this painting.

I also worked on the sides of the boats.

I can see why painters work on many large paintings at one time.

I have been taking Monet, Lily, and Poppy to the beach for a few hours each morning.

Monet can put four tennis balls in his mouth.

Yesterday Monet put his foot on the car horn as we were arriving at the beach.

All dogs were barking loud.  We arrived at the beach in one piece.

All our doggy friends were waiting for us.  Their owners laughed at our entrance.

We have had a lot of fun at the beach.

Good night.

May 16, 2017 Blossoming Pear Trees Make Excellent Plein Air Subjects.

"Blossoming Pear Tree" 5x7 oil on copper 350$ framed in gold or black with gold.  Shipped.

I have admired a white cape cod with black shutters on the way to Ellsworth, Maine.

Today I noticed a beautiful pear tree blooming across the street.

Blooming fruit tress make excellent subjects.

Temperatures were 78 degrees.  There was 20 mph wind gusts.

Beautiful day to paint plein air.

From 11am till 1pm we all were at the beach!

Monet, Lily, and Poppy saw many of their doggy friends!

Maddie was there in the distance.  She soaked in the ice cold ocean.

Gus the black little dog behaved just fine.  He showed off his talking ability.

Ziva the red golden retriever laid in the shade of the chairs.

Lily, Monet, and Poppy ran, sat up on the chairs with people, dug for rocks, swam.

They were so tired.  They were all taking naps on the ride home.

Spring can be very rainy and cold.  These beautiful days make up for it all.

Good night.

May 15, 2017 Happy Birthday Luke!

Happy Birthday Luke!  He is ten years old today.

Luke is Lily's Grandpa and Monet's Father.

We treat him like family.

Each Spring Ted finds a new hairdresser for Luke.

This time Luke's hair was done by a lady voted to be best dog groomer in Maine.

She did such a great job.  Ted gave her a 5$ tip.

I can not ever remember Ted being pleased with a haircut for Luke.

Over the years Ted has fired Luke's groomers.

Sometimes they are fired right in the middle of the haircut!

Sometimes they are fired afterwards.

I cut Luke's hair once under the watchful eye of Ted.

I was never asked to cut Luke's hair again.

I have to admit I was impressed with Luke's hair.

My crew's hair looks pretty good.

I cut their hair.  Monet will even lay on his back with his feet up in the air!

Poppy watches me cut Monet and Lily's hair.

Poppy decides when she wants her hair trimmed.

Poppy never allows a bath.  No way.

Poppy thinks she will die if she is given a bath.

I took my golden retrievers to the beach today.  Winds were 40mph.

We found Luke and Ted.  We decided to walk a short distance on the trail to avoid winds.

They enjoyed water from the brook.

Lily was admiring the action from above.

Ted was going to purchase a blueberry muffin for Luke.

Weeks ago Ted said he would cook a porterhouse steak on the grill for Luke.

Sounds like a good birthday for Luke.

My three golden retrievers sat in the passenger seat of my van.

I am happy to be home again.

I unloaded the van, organized, cashed a check, purchased food, and napped.

Tomorrow I should be back to painting.

May 14, 2017 Visited Lady Rose And Her Pups in New Hampshire.

The last time I saw Lady Rose she was 8 weeks old.

Lady Rose was one of the puppies from Monet and Poppy's first litter.

Today I asked if I may stop to visit Lady Rose.

Lady Rose remembered me.

She leaned her head against my arm smelling my sweater's sleeve.

Her eyes were tender.

It was a sweet moment.

I saw two of Lady Rose's female puppies.

All five of the male puppies had gone to good homes.

Lady Rose was gentle with her two girls.

They loved their new tug ball I brought them.

It was fun to watch them play.

    Sweet!

The red puppy is very athletic and friendly.  The cream puppy is more independent.

When I arrived home in Maine, my golden retrievers, Monet, Poppy, and Lily, sniffed

my bag!  They were hoping for presents.

   Monet collected all the presents.

Lily and Poppy took off with pig ears to chew.

Lady Rose sent home duck eggs, chicken eggs, three kong plush dog toys!

They were all so happy.

I gave them a ball tug toy.

It is good to be home again.

Robert made me baked chicken and sweet potato!

I feel like painting.  Good night.

May 13, 2017 Tamsworth Farmers Market Quick Draw Painting Sold.

"Tamsworth Comraderie" 8x12 oil on copper.  Sold tonight.

We had two hours to complete our quick draw painting in the center of Tamsworth.

Then the artists relocated all our paintings to six different locations in town.

People roamed from one location to the next to view our work created during the week.

My paintings were set up in the History Center.

I was fortunate to have a well lit beautiful place to show my work.

The table on the right was from the civil war era.

Women folded flags on this table.

Clara the bermese mountain dog come to view the farmers market painting.

The history center currators were shocked to see a dog in their historic house.

On hearing the dog came to view her portrait, smiles, and serious sweeping occurred

after the dog's exit.

I met a Mother and Daughter who loved the Tamsworth Farmers Market painting.

The Mother accidentally put her thumb into the left of the painting.

She kept this a secret.  She bought the painting.  Then she revealed her thumb print.

We all laughed.  The Daughter loved the painting even more since her Mom's thumb

print could be seen.  I really loved this sale.  It warmed my heart.

"Baby Goats" 4x5 oil on copper.  Sold tonight.

I also was commissioned to paint a house portrait tomorrow weather permitting.

I received a little public's choice award.  We all had a great time.

What a beautiful town to paint.  The people who live in Tamsworth are very lucky.

Good night.

May 12, 2017 Painted Piglets and Chickens at White Gate Farm.

"Spring Piglets" 6x8 oil on copper.  Sold.  Thank you.

Today I drove to White Gate Farm to paint.

There were 20 young 10 week old piglets in a pen.

I set up my painting equipment.

I tried to draw them with my sketch-n-can several times.

They moved around too quickly to draw!

I was determined to paint those piglets.

I painted the background and the hay.

By then the piglets settled down.

They piled up to sleep.

I decided to paint them.

They still moved around while they were napping.

Then I decided to paint one pig eating.  Several others made it into the painting.

Finally I knew I needed one looking at me.  I called one over.

When I needed to look at another one I had to move to see them in position.

I am pleased this painting found a home.  I believe this was the most difficult

painting completed yet.

I did notice many green shadows around the pigs probably because they are so red.

I also noticed cool highlights on the top planes.

One other thing!  Pigs have different colored eyes.

"Byron's Girls" 6x8 oil on copper 375$ framed in gold.  Shipped.

The highlight of my day was when I showed Hank, the owner of White Gate Farm, these

two paintings.   He smiled big when he saw his piglets.  He said, "There they are."  He had

such fondness for his piglets.  He named both paintings.  He gave it a lot of thought.

It was fun hearing the titles he came up with.

Here is a photo of White Gate Farm.

Good night.  Thank you for the painting sale!

May 11, 2017 Van Went Into Ditch, Tow Truck, Police Came, I Painted On.

"Blossom Time" 6x8 oil on copper.  Sold.  Thank you.

This photo of "Blossom Time" is from my cell phone.  Big difference.  I think the this

one might be more accurate.

I was driving on 113 West.

I was admiring this red cape cod house with blossoming trees!

I decided to pull the van over to the side of the road.

I didn't see the three foot ditch.  The van slid into the ditch.

Right away I called AAA.

I set up my easel to paint while waiting for the tow truck.

The tow truck man needed to call the police to close off the highway.

The tow truck driver was very kind.  I told him it was ok to laugh.

The police did a fine job.

The tow truck driver told me to continue painting until the police arrived.

Then he said ok rap it up.  I threw painting equipment into the van.

They pulled the van out.  I said thank you and goodbyes.

Then I put my painting equipment back up.

I started to paint again!

No painting time was lost today!  The sunlight was shining.

I didn't want a little misplaced van cause me to not paint.

"Spring Has Sprung" 6x8 oil on copper 375$ framed in gold.  Shipped.

This was my morning painting at the Farm Stand.

I admired the light at the base of the trees.

I also loved the swing.

I had to add daffodils.  It was a difficult painting for me.

This wooden bridge looks so similar as in a Aldro Hibbard painting?

I am off to sleep.  Good night.

I painted at Remick Farm in New Hampshire this morning.

The rooster came over to the fence, bent down, and looked me in the eye.

I decided to paint that rooster's position.  It was a difficult painting to do.

Not only were the chickens moving but the sun flashed in and out.

"Baby Goats" 4x5 oil on copper 150$ framed in gold shipped.

I did add darker green to the left corner after this photo.  It looks nicer now.

The goats were just born.  They were so cute romping around the field.

A man tried to feed them some grains.  They had no teeth.  He complained they

would not eat his grain he paid a quarter for.  I told them about lacking teeth.

He laughed.  I let the goats lick my fingers.  I felt their little gums inside their mouth.

They were so soft.  I loved them.

"Sadie" 5x7 oil on copper 350$ framed in gold.  Shipped.

Sadie was their miniature horse at Remick Farm.  She stood there for maybe one minute.

I drew her on to the copper panel.  Then Sadie ran off to a distant field facing the opposite

direction.  I am lucky to have good eye sight.  I could see Sadie to paint.

"Happy Family" 6x8 oil on copper 375$ framed in gold.  Shipped.

I relocated to White Gate Farm.  Temperatures dropped.  I drank a large iced coffee

something I never do.  I really wanted to paint more chickens at this farm.

I was delighted to find beautiful chickens outside their coup in front of beautiful mountains.

I stayed inside my van to paint.  I like this one.  That rooster was so busy.  I had to avert

my eyes a few times.  Goodness!

These two goats are also siblings.  Ethel and her husband.

There was a nice spagetti and salad dinner in a heated barn at the Preserve at Chocorua.

People came out to see our paintings completed today.  Nice dinner.  I was starved.

Good night.

May 9, 2017 Paintings Of Tamworth's Chocorua Lake in New Hampshire. One Sold.

"Flying Shadows Over Mount Chocorua" 5x7 oil on copper Sold.  Thank you!

Today I woke up at 7am.  My first painting didn't go well.  I guess I was half

asleep.  It was so cold I could not concentrate.  I put that painting in a box.

I decided to sit inside my van for this painting.  We had permission to paint

above Lake Chocorua by a barn.  Sunlight shined through clouds illuminating

some parts of the mountain.

"Lake Chocorua" 5x7 oil on copper.  350$ framed in gold.  Shipped.

I parked in a position to see this view from my van's window.

I warmed up the van well before turning off the engine.

I might as well be comfortable.  I liked the trees in front of the mountains.

I painted the trees first then painted around them.

"Spring at The Robinson's House" 5x7 oil on copper 350$ framed in gold.  Shipped.

While waiting for the Farm Stand reception tonight I decided to paint the

forsythia blooming with the bright green house.

The whole scene just looked like Spring!

I had a great time trying to create the perfect green.  I had to use

a little Winsor Blue paint with Cadmium Yellow Light.

I really like how this one came out.

Some people think greens should be subdued.

I think greens should be celebrated.

All the artists are staying at the Preserve at Chocorua in Tamworth, New Hampshire.

I have two beds and a private bathroom with a view overlooking land.

I chose to sleep in the queen size bed.  The painting above the bed is fantastic.

There are many rooms in this farm house.  There are also four other houses and a barn.

Two Corgi dogs live here.

Minnie likes to greet people.  Vinny is the other Corgi.  Very friendly.

I am off to sleep.  Good night.

May 8, 2017 Painting In The White Mountains of New Hampshire.

I made it to the beautiful White Mountains in New Hampshire.

A strange thing happened to me today while drive there.

I was in Ossisipee, NH driving.  I looked to the left side of the road to see a small

red golden retriever puppy being held by a lady.  The thought occurred to me

this could be a Lady Rose puppy.  I text Lady Rose's owner.

Sure enough!  She was handing the last puppy to a new owner out front of her home.

I did remember Lady Rose was from Ossisippee, NH but I didn't know where she lived.

What a coincidence I would see one of Lady Rose's red puppies.

Ha!

All the artists are here.  We have been taking drives to locate painting locations.

Tomorrow we will paint.  Today we toured the White Gate Farm.  Beautiful 20 piglets, calves, chickens.

Good night.

May 7, 2017 Car Ride To Stonington, Maine. Dropped Off A Catnip Filled Mouse For Dundee.

We had a rare day of sun.  I headed to Stonington, Maine.

I found bright green grass and many forsythia bushes in bloom.

This is my favorite yellow house in Stonington.

I looked for Dundee, the orange maine coon cat, who lives in the white house below.

He was no where to be found.

His owner was sitting in a wood chair admiring the ocean.

I handed Dundee's owner a light green catnip filled mouse.

He smiled.  He said, "Oh Dundee is going to love this!"

I remembered Dundee had a sunset curfew.

I looked around Stonington for Dundee.  No Dundee today.

I suppose Dundee was enjoying a can of sardines in someone's cottage.

I took photos of Stonington and came back home.

I didn't feel like painting.

I took my three golden retrievers, Lily, Monet, and Poppy to the beach this morning.

My dogs are unruly during the car ride to the beach.

All the dogs end up in the front seat.

It is crazy!   I tried to use two dog beds to prevent their entry into the front.

Monet bulldozed his way to the passenger seat.

The girls stayed back.

When we were 30 yards to the beach, all dogs were in the front, two on my lap,

and they were barking.

Everyone at the beach looked at our van.

Three dogs were out of my car the minute I opened my door.

They just climbed over top of me.

The dog leashes were tangled up around my feet.

My hair was free from my pony tail.

I looked a wreck!

No matter.  We all arrived at the beach safely.

I am on my way to the "Wet Paint Tamworth" in the Preserve at Chocorua in New Hampshire.

I will be staying at a large farmhouse with many invited artists.

There will be many different places to paint, demos, receptions, and dinners.

Good night.

May 6, 2017 Home In Maine. Computer Monitor Broke During Flight. Robert Bought A Computer.

"Port Clyde Fog" 5x7 oil on copper 350$ framed in gold or black with gold.  Shipped.

I arrived home in Maine yesterday.  Maine looks just like the painting above minus

all of the flowers.  It is foggy.

Unfortunately my lap top monitor was cracked in my carry on before I boarded the plane.

I was very sad.  Everything seems to revolve around my computer.

I told Robert.  He came up with the solution to buy a used computer on a credit card.

Oh I dislike using credit cards but it was an emergency.

I was able to get a used computer at Computer Essentials in Bangor, Maine for 400$.

They are a great source for new and used computers as well as fixing things.

"Hungry Crow" 5x4 oil on copper 150$ framed in gold or black with gold shipped.

I am so happy using the computer and writing again.

All my photos will need to be transferred to my newer computer later.

For now I will paint plein air in between rain.  I have no photos to see.

"Garden Walk" 5x7 oil on copper 350$ framed in gold or black with gold.  Shipped.

May 2, 2017 Take A Look At Our Grand Puppies. Update on Pups.

Monet and Poppy's puppy Lady Rose had puppies!

Lady Rose had 2 females and 5 males.

The Father golden was a beautiful red.

Here is Lady Rose.  She looks like her Mom Poppy.

Lady Rose being a great Mom.

Another one of Lady Rose's pups.

What a beautiful Lady Rose puppy.

The pups were off to their forever homes.

I hope they all live wonderful long safe lives.

Monet and Poppy's second litter puppy Daffodil has her own pool full of 100 plastic balls.

Monet and Poppy's first litter puppy Lady Cora/Elsa just was groomed.  Beautiful.

Lady Mary/Lux has spent most of her life being trained.

She is doing very well.  I knew Lady Mary/Lux would be a handful.

Day three of her life she was climbing out of her crib.

She was a little fighter among the puppies.

She was just groomed.

She had a look on her face, "Do you know what they did to me?"

Second litter Dahlia looks so peaceful.

Gardenia/Lilly, second litter, loves to look after the kids in her family.

Mr. Mosely, first litter, is a love muffin.

Mr. Bates/first litter, is spoiled and loved.  What a pretty boy!

I shipped all my painting equipment and clothes back to Maine.

Have a good night.

May 1, 2017 Painted My Friend's Chickens.

"Organic Apple Snack" 6x6 oil on copper.  350$ framed in gold and shipped.

(pardon photo, I left my good camera back in Maine, but it does look true to the colors.)

Here are a few of my friend's chickens.

The one in the front is the oldest and in charge.

They were given a organic apple snack.

The zebra looking chicken in the back was fun to paint.

I approached the chicken painting in a different manor than usual.

I decided to paint the chickens in just warm colors and do a value study.

I guess this is what a painting would look like if no correct color temperature were used.

This painting has warm in the sunlit areas and warm in the shadow areas.

The sense of light is just not as great as when cool colors are used in shadows and warm

colors are used in the sunlight areas.

I just thought I would give this a try to get the values right.

I painted the real colors on top of this value study.

It is good to try new things.

I like the chicken painting with all the interesting colors best.

Have a good night.
